Benicio continued observing Adrian, but his glances did not go unnoticed by his friend, who also directed his gaze in the same direction.

"What are you looking at so much? Do you know someone at that table?" he asked, curious.

"That's my new employee, believe it or not. He's the same man I ran over."

"Wait a minute! Let me see if I understand: the man you hired as your assistant is the same person you ran over?" He seemed incredulous.

"Yes, yesterday he was on his way to the interview, believe it or not. I think I had the same expression when I saw him in the office, but from what I could tell, he has great potential. Besides, he helped me resolve the crisis I faced today."

"Man, this is getting better and better," he smiled, shaking his head. "Aren't you going to go greet your employee? I can only imagine how awkward he must feel." He was amused by the idea.

"I don't want to spoil his fun; it seems like they're celebrating something. Maybe it's Adrian's admission."

"So that's his name?"

"Yes. I'm going to the bathroom; you're asking too many questions."

Benicio got up and headed to the bathroom, while Danilo remained at the table, smiling and looking in Adrian's direction. At that moment, Eli realized that the man was looking back, with a smile on his face and even raised his glass.

"Adrian, is it just me or is that guy flirting with us?" Eli gestured in the man's direction with his head.

"Well, maybe he's flirting with you; I hadn't even noticed him. You know what? I'm going to the bathroom. Maybe he'll approach you when I leave," Adrian smiled, amused.

"You know this territory is more your thing than mine," Eli tried to argue with his friend, but Adrian left without paying much attention.

Eli avoided looking in that direction, thinking it best not to seem interested, otherwise that man might end up approaching him. He didn't want to ruin his friend's night with an argument or fight in that place.

While Eli pretended at the table, Adrian was entering the bathroom when he was pushed by a man who rushed in to vomit. This almost made him fall forward, if he hadn't collided with someone.

Adrian was about to thank them when he saw who had held him and was surprised.

"Mr. Benicio, what are you doing here?"

"I'm having fun too. But are you okay?" Benicio still held Adrian's arm and they were very close.

"Yes, sorry about what happened." Adrian stepped back a bit.

"Don't worry about it. If everything's fine, I'll go back to my table."

Benicio walked away and left the bathroom. Adrian still looked at his back as he walked away, sighing afterwards.

"What a scent!" Adrian said as soon as he left.

Adrian shook his head and went to use the bathroom. It was better to stop noticing his boss in that way. He had already decided that if he got the job, he would keep his sexual orientation a secret to avoid going through the same kind of situation he had in his previous job.

When he returned to the table, his friend was sitting in a completely different way, which intrigued him. Adrian questioned:

"Why are you sitting like that?"

"I don't want to keep looking at that guy who was staring at me, nor do I want him to see my face."

Adrian smiled and looked in the direction of the other table to see if the man was still looking at him. To his surprise, not only was the man looking, but Benicio was also sitting there, looking directly at him.

"Damn!" Adrian looked away.

"What happened? Don't tell me that guy's coming over here," his friend asked, concerned.

"It's not that, but I think it's time to call it a night. Besides, my boss is at that other table and I don't want to show up hungover on my first day."

After hearing this explanation, Eli looked again in the direction of that table. Since he was already feeling uncomfortable with the persistent gaze, he decided it was best for them to leave.

"I'll pay the bill and we'll go," Eli said, standing up immediately.

Danilo realized they were leaving and made a point to tease his friend.

"Did something happen in the restroom? Your employee is leaving; I think he was intimidated to see you here."

"Don't talk nonsense. Nothing happened in the restroom. Besides, I don't care what my employees do or don't do outside of work hours," Benicio reprimanded his friend, who was still smiling. He took another sip of his drink and glanced at Adrian. Their eyes met, and his employee stood up, heading towards the exit of the establishment.

The businessman and his friend stayed at the bar a little longer. Benicio was noticeably more thoughtful than usual, and his friend noticed, but chose not to comment on it. Benicio's thoughts were interrupted when he received a call from Carla.

He chose not to answer the call. He knew that if he did, Carla would start asking questions about his whereabouts and who he was with. That night, he simply didn't have the patience to deal with his fiancee. At times, he even questioned why he was still in that engagement.
