Nightmares

"Oh My God! What just happened at the lunch Oli?"

Sam asked me while we were driving back home after school.

"I don't know Sam. Kevin was acting like a jerk. Nate is an idiot to accept that challenge."

I replied her.

I was upset. Kevin was one of my two best friends and Nate became my friend too. I knew Kevin since we were 9 years old and I could clearly see that he wasn't acting like him self today.

"I wished for some drama. But nothing like this. This is not dram... this is disaster..."

Sam rambled quietly.

I just rolled my eyes not answering her. After the lunch break I just left cafeteria dragging Sam with me. I didn't want to talk with Kevin when his jerk mode on and neither did I want talk to that idiotic Nate.

"Oli... do you think he was jealous? I mean I said stuff like, that you think Nate is hot and what not..."

Sam asked me with wide eyes.

"There is no reason for him to be jealous Sam. We are friends. More like best friends. And before you start saying shit like he likes me and bla bla bla just keep your mouth shut OK...."

I said her with a fake glare.

I couldn't get angry at her for her childish imaginations.

"Aw you are no fun..." She stuck her tongue at me grinning.

We left school and went back to home. Sam dropped me at home and left. Aunt Mari wasn't at home. She worked as the head chef of a nearby five star hotel.

I thought about the things that happened today.

How weird I felt when I saw Nate, Kevin's jerk behavior. Today was a really strange day.

Aunt Mari had left a note saying she would be late tonight. So I decided just order pizza as dinner

I was scared and alone. It was so dark and I couldn't see anything.

"Mom.... dad... hello anybody here..."

I called my parents. But no one replied me.

"My love..."

I heard a whisper behind me making me turn around. No one was there. Only two rubies. They were so red and glowing. They came near me.

They were not rubies. They were eyes, red glowing eyes.

I started walking back, scared.

"Where are you going my love?"

That eerie voice whispered again.

Then it smiled at me showing its sharp white teeth glistening .

I turned around and started to run away. Tear streaming down my face.

"Help me..." I screamed and ran through the darkness. I knew it was just behind me because I could hear its laugh.

"You can't run away from me my love"

I woke up screaming and crying. I was drenched in sweat.

I never thought that nightmares would come again. When they stopped last year I couldn't be happier.

But now they had started again and this time they were worse than past. That thing never talked in the past.

When I looked at my clock, the time was 5.30 in the morning. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep again. So I decided to go for a run.
