"Who is hot Oli?"

I heard Kevin's familiar voice asking me. Damn.

"Oh she was talking about new boy... Nate. Did you meet him? Oli think he is hot. I think they are cute together."

Sam answered with a catty smirk even before even I could open my mouth.

'Samantha Lockwood. You are dead.'

I thought glaring at her. But she just shrugged it off with a smirk.

"Oh"

Kevin said and I mentally face palmed. Sam and her stupid mouth.

"She is talking nonsense Kevin. Where is your gang?"

I asked him trying to change the topic. Also it is rare to see Kevin alone because he always hangs out with his foot ball buddies.

"They are already in the cafeteria. I had to talk with a teacher so I said them to go without me."

He answered. There was something off with his tone. May be he had a problem with his grades or something.

We reached the cafeteria and I heard someone calling my name. It was Nate. He came near us and looked Kevin's arm around me with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey Nate... this is Kevin. My best guy friend. And Kevin this is Nate. He is new here"

I introduced them to each other.

Kevin dropped his arm from my shoulder and shake hands with Nate.

"Nice to meet you man. Sam and Oli usually sit with us, so you can sit with us too."

Kevin said to Nate and went to his usual table which whole foot ball team sat.

"Well it went smoothly... I was hoping bit of drama. You know like when two boys whom like the same girl meet each other..."

Sam whispered in disappointed tone making me groan mentally.

"You are crazy Sam."

I whispered back.

After we got our lunch plates filled me Sam and Nate went to the Kevin's table and sat.

"Hey guys!"

I and Sam greeted them waving.

"Hey Oli... hey Sam..."

Few of them greeted us because most of them were too busy eating like no tomorrow. They only waved us. Pigs!

"Who is this Oli?"

Matt asked looking at Nate. Damn I forgot to introduce him.

"Oh... Guys this is Nate. He is new and he is also a friend of me"

Everyone greeted him but I saw Kevin looking at him with a hard eyes. What is his problem now? Ugh...

Everyone chatted while eating after guys introduced them selves to Nate.

"So Nate do you play any sport?"

Chris asked Nate. He is a very friendly guy.

"Yeah I was thinking of tryout for foot ball team."

Nate replied nodding his head.

"That's great man. Tryouts are on next week. You can-"

Chris started but Kevin cut him off.

"Wait... before you come to tryouts you have to prove that you are worth it. You have to prove you're strong enough."

Kevin said to Nate looking straight in the eyes with an emotionless face.

I heard Sam gasped. This isn't good. Last time something like this happened the wrist of the guy who was targeted got broken.

Normally Kevin was a nice guy. But sometimes he does things like this. I think it was because he was feeling insecurity or something.

Since Sam was complementing Nate and all, Kevin must have felt he was unimportant.

Guys around the table started protesting since they knew this is going to end badly.

"Come on man. There is no need to do that."

Matt said with a frown.

"Nate is not like Brandon."

Brandon is the guy who got his wrist broken. When Kevin challenged him that time no one protested because Brandon was a jerk with a huge ego.

"Since I'm the captain, I decide what to do or not."

Kevin said not taking his eyes from Nate.

"What do you say Nate?" He asked.

"Nate no" I said to Nate putting my hand on his shoulder

"Kevin what's wrong with you? Nate is a nice guy and he is new too"

I asked with a frown.

"This is between boys Oli. Don't come middle of it."

Kevin said to me. His voice was soft yet stern.

"What the hell Kevin. Stop being a jerk. You are not like this."

I was getting angry and Sam squeezed my hand trying to calm me down.

"It's OK Oli... What do I have to do to prove my self?"

Nate asked Kevin with a calm vice.

I sighed heavily. This is bad. Really bad.

"OK buddy... there is a street fighting arena. This Friday you have to fight with a fighter I choose and if you win you'll be accepted in to our team because I can talk to coach. And also I'll accept you as a friend."

Kevin said with a smirk.

Shit this is bad.

"Kevin, are you crazy? That is dangerous. He'll get killed. It's also illegal."

I said him angrily.

"OK I'll do it."

Nate said simply and Kevin just nodded with a smirk.

Damn it. He is going to die.
