“Oh yeah, he’s very nice. Not all small minions like you have that much pent up anger, it seems.” The producer nodded going through the papers “Then, shall we get started?”
Jimin didn't even bother to comment on the tease like remark his older friend had just made, he deserved it for being so late. “Yes, I hate that I left you hanging like this, so please the sooner I get to start, the better.”
“Relax, you’ll do fine, you being late isn’t a problem, it let me work on some stuff I had behind anyways.” He assured Jimin “Now, go into the booth, we’re going to start with the beat you sent me and then we’ll do it with the beat I did to see if we can correlate both your vision and mine. Does that sound good?”
Jimin nodded, it was nothing new to him. Namjoon often asked him to participate in some of his tracks and at first Jimin wasn’t that comfortable about it, since his voice wasn’t what he was most confident in. However, as time passed, he learned to love it the way it was, and with the help of Namjoon, his technique improved a lot. But although he was used to participate in Namjoon’s tracks, this was the first time he was participating in the writing of the song and it's melody.
Jimin started singing just fine, like he normally did. He was going to sing the lyrics like he had worked them at home with his own melody and beat, just as asked. Well, that’s what he planned to do, but somehow the notes were coming out all wrong. He couldn’t hit them, they sounded just fine in his head and whenever he had practiced at home, but they had become weird when they came out of his mouth to the mic.
“Hey, did you overwork your voice again?” Namjoon asked from the other side of the booth.
“No, I made sure not to do that ever again. Maybe my throat wasn’t ready, uhm can I try again?”
“Sure. Again then.”
And Jimin tried again, but it still wasn’t it. He knew they sounded wrong out loud but he didn’t know how to fix it since he always did what he was currently doing. Maybe the track he worked on was corrupted too because he couldn’t hear it at all.
“Are you playing my track? I can't hear it through the headphones.” Jimin asked before trying again.
“Is it not working for some reason, it's fine for me... ****, okay, let’s try with mine and then we’ll figure out what's up with your file...” It took a few seconds for Namjoon to rearrange everything until he spoke up again “Uhm, okay then let’s try with my beat, don’t force your voice too much.
“Yeah okay.”
The music started playing and it just sounded so wrong. His voice was not coming out and suddenly the headache had returned, stronger. The sound was just a continuous sharp sound that now felt like it was going to pierce through his head.
Jimin crouched down, holding his body in his own arms.
Namjoon saw Jimin disappear from his vision and entered the recording booth in a rush, only to find Jimin in tears.
“It hurts.” Jimin managed to say through all the pain and stress his body was going through.
“What hurts?” Namjoon’s panicked voice asked not knowing what was going on or what to do exactly.
“The music, it hurts. Make it stop, make it stop.”
“Take off the headphones now, I’ll stop it, just take them off.” Namjoons’s voice got louder realizing Jimin couldn’t hear much outside of the headphones he had on.
Jimin let out a sob of relief as soon as the sound left his ears. The ache was gone.
“Are you all better now?”
“Yeah, as long as the music is off.”
Namjoon helped Jimin get up, leading him to the couch on the main room of the recording studio.
“Do you want some water? I can ask someone to bring you some.” He got up ready to call someone.
“No, no. It’s okay. It’s better now.” he nodded trying to convince himself of what he was saying was true. Regardless of that, his tears were still staining his skin and Namjoon could tell the pain was still lingering.
“Come on, I’ll call you a cab home.”
“No, Hyung I-”
“No, no. Come on. You have to rest. We can reschedule some other time; I’ll have someone bring the car over to you guys’ place too.”
Jimin nodded, not fighting his friend’s decision. He felt demotivated after all of it, it was for the best.
And so, Namjoon called a cab and took him home, calling Hoseok on the way asking him to meet them at their house after he went to his office and got the car Jimin had driven there.
When they got there, Hoseok was already waiting, worried sick.
“How’d you get here so fast?” It seemed like Namjoon asking it.
“I’ll go get the car later,” Hoseok explained “What’s wrong?”
Jimin went ahead to bed, while the other two stayed talking. As he fell asleep, their conversation was muffled and he was too tired to figure it out so he didn’t try to and as his last awaken sigh was let out all Jimin could hear from Hoseok’s words was:
“Yeah, I think it’s it.”

“Hey... Everything's alright?” the young man across the table said catching Yoongi a bit out of it.
“Yea... Hmm, just tired that’s all.” he chuckled to himself trying to shake the thought of the stranger he collided with earlier from his mind.
It was mid-morning, Yoongi was out having a late breakfast with his friends.
