Weird Feelings

Asriel was crying while sitting on a cliff near the river. The

words he said to Harriet were hurting him more than Harriet.

He angrily hit his fist against the rock, causing an injury to his

hand. He was about to hit his fist again on the rock, then

someone held his hand and his hand was not injured again.

“Stop hurting yourself,” the person said while holding his

hand.

“Please Winston leave me alone.”

“You were alone, Have you forgotten you were alone in the

past years? And if you want to be alone then ok I will go,”

As Winston turned to leave, Asriel suddenly grabbed his hand

to stop him. Asriel had tears in his eyes, but he felt a lump in

his throat, due to which he could not speak anything, just

tears started flowing from his eyes.

Winston also sat on the rock near him. Both were looking at

the boundless sky and the stars There was a strange silence in

the atmosphere. Winston asked to break the silence, “Did

something happen between you and Harriet because when I

saw her in college, she was not right?”Asriel sighed painfully, “as usual I hurt her, But what do I do?

I have to do this to keep myself away from her.”

“But I don’t think you should do anything that hurts her

because you will feel that pain too, I know,” Winston said,

explaining to him.

“What I’m supposed to do? You know everything about me,

and what if she recognise me?” he sadly said,

“So don't you want her to recognize you?” Winston frowned.

“And what if she knew that the person she saw in the alley

that night was me, if she knew what I felt for her and if she

knew that I am...I am…” Anger ran in his veins but then

anger turned into fear and he could not complete his sentence.

Winston understood his situation and asked him to change the

matter, “what is this in your hand? You hurt yourself, How

many times have I told you don't hurt yourself.” He took him

near the river and washed his hand, “Now It's fine.”

“Well, I think you should apologize to Harriet for everything

you said to her.” He stood up and started heading towards the

car. “Now come on or intend to sit here all night,” He said

while looking at Asriel. Both left to go home from there.

Elli and Harriet were lying down, Harriet saw that Elli was

asleep so she stood up secretly and went to the balconyA deep sigh came out of her mouth and she started looking at

the sky while thinking about Asriel. She started thinking in

her mind,

‘My heart says that night it was Asriel, but why I am thinking

so much about him, why do I want to know about him, why I

am thinking about him even after hearing so many things

from him, and what if he killed me like that girl, after all, I

saw that girl with him.’she snapped out from her thoughts.

“I am not thinking anything, I will only expose him to the fact

that he is the killer of that girl.” She murmured to herself.

The next day, after the cheering dance practice at the college,

when Elli and Harriet were sitting in the cafeteria Azazel

came and sat down with them. He was about to say

something, then Elli said, "Hey, look they have come too.”

Harriet saw Winston and Asriel were coming. Elli called them

to their seat.

As soon as both came, Harriet was about to leave from there,

Suddenly Asriel held her hand causing a sensation in her

whole body and said, “forgive me, Harriet please, I know I

shouldn't have said all that. I’m sorry, please forgive me, let’s

be friends.”Harriet was confused by the behaviour of Asriel. A thought

ran into her mind, ‘how did this person say so much to me

yesterday and apologizing today, expecting to be friends with

me.’

“Harriet” after listening to her name she snapped out of her

thoughts, Asriel was looking at her and waiting for her

response.

“Ok I forgive you, Now friends and she shook hands with

him.

She felt a strange stir in her heart as soon as she shook hands

and felt a strange prick and pain on her neck. His hand was as

cold as ice. Immediately He released his hand from her hand.

Harriet was looking at his actions very carefully, he turned

and sat on the chair.

When everyone sat down, Azazel turned to Harriet and said,

“Harriet, I wanted to say this to you for a long time but could

not say it because I was afraid but now I want to tell you that

I like you, will you be my girlfriend?” Harriet was shocked,

She couldn't say anything.

Elli, Winston and Asriel were also shocked. They were

looking for HarrietHarriet looked at Asriel, for a moment both glanced at each

other. She turned to Azazel and said, “Yes.” leaving them

shocked. Azazel pulled out a ring in front of her, studded with

a blue gem, and he put that ring in Harriet's finger.

Asriel was watching them and it was hurting him, so he left

from there.

After some time, when everyone reached class, Harriet sat

beside Azazel, not near Asriel. Elli was also not happy with

Harriet's decision.

When Harriet reached home from college, saw that her

mother was lying down and thought she was sleeping, she

tried to wake her up but she didn't say anything. When it was

too late she started to panic and called Elli and Winston, Elli

arrived and after a while, Winston came with Asriel. Quickly

took his mother to the hospital. There the doctor told, “her

mother had a heart attack, that’s why she is in a coma and

how long it will take to recover, nothing can be said.”

Harriet broke down on hearing all this and started crying. Elli

hugged her and consoled her.

After some time, Azazel came to the hospital and sat near

Harriet, he comforted her, held her hand in his hand andstarted caressing. Asriel was watching them, he wanted to go

to her but he couldn’t.

Harriet could not understand anything, she was just crying.

As the night passed, she did not know when she slept.

In the morning Elli woke her up. Winston brought coffee to

her but she refused.

The doctor came to them, “Doctor, how is my mother? Is she

alright?” Harriet asked the doctor in her low voice, her eyes

were red and puffy.

The doctor said, “she is still in coma, it seems as if she had

taken such medicine, which has caused her condition. Right

now we have shifted her to the ward, but for her treatment,

you will have to arrange fees. Azazel came and said, “yes we

will arrange soon, thank you.”

The doctor went from there, now one thing was going on in

Harriet's mind that she had to arrange the money. Azazel

seated Harriet and went to get some food for her.

Then Asriel came to Harriet and said,

“Harriet, don't worry, I'll arrange the fees. Please stop crying

and go home and get some rest.”

Harriet refused, “No I can't take your favour and I won't even

go home.”“What's the favour in this? Take it now like you are

borrowing and pay it later.”

Elli and Winston also agreed with Asriel and asked her to take

some rest.

Elli took her home with her and Winston went home with

Asriel.

When Azazel came back and saw that there was no one, he

called Harriet and asked her, and she told him that she had

returned home.

Azazel angrily disconnected the phone, threw food on the

ground and left angrily. Asriel paid fees for her mother's

treatment. Harriet was happy because her mother's condition

had started to improve a bit in the last few days. Now she was

looking for a job, a job that she could manage along with her

studies.

After so many days, Harriet was happy that she was chatting

with Elli. Asriel was watching her from afar.

‘The same face that made his heartbeat fast, the eyes twinkle

and the smile that brought smiles on his face.’

He was so lost in admiring Harriet he didn't even realize that

Winston was standing near him and looking at him. Then a

voice from behind caught the attention of both of them,“It is not a good thing to stare at someone else's girlfriend.”

When both of them looked at it, Azazel was standing and

smirking weirdly.

“Just stop calling her your girlfriend,” Asriel grinned and

said.

“For your kind information, she accepted my proposal, and

now I can call her my girlfriend, so you better stop staring at

her,” Azazel said in a provoking manner.

“And what if I tell her about you?” Asriel smiled.

“And if I do the same”

“What are you guys talking about,” a raspy voice asked.

Harriet was looking at them confused. Azazel was a little bit

tense.

“I have come to say thanks to Asriel and Azazel.

Asriel thank you so much for supporting me during my

difficult times and for being friends with me. And Azazel

Thank you for advising me how I can repay the money

borrowed from Asriel.”

“That’s not fair,” Elli and Winston said together.

“We are also your friends,” Elli said with disappointment.

“Yes of course both of you also helped me a lot,” Harriet said

with a smile while hugging Elli.“By the way Harriet, what advice has Azazel given you to

pay the debt of Asriel,”

Winston asked, staring at Azazel with suspicion.

“Oh yes, I forgot to tell you. I got a part-time job with

Azazel's help in his cousin's bakery. I am a bit good at making

cakes and cookies, so I will be able to do this work and there

will be no loss of studies as well.” Looking at Azazel with

grateful eyes she said.

Hearing that, Asriel went quietly from there. When Harriet

saw him, she also followed him.

“Elli, I'll see you later”

“But Harriet, listen to me,” Azazel said while stopping her.

“See you in the bakery in the evening,” Harriet shouted from

a distance. Elli and Winston went from there, only Azazel

was left standing there.

Harriet gasped and called him, “Asriel, please wait for me.”

When he looked back, Harriet was coming towards him.

“Harriet Easy, what happened? Why are you running?”

“You came from there without saying anything.”

“I do not understand why you are in such a hurry to return the

money. Have I ever told you to return the money or you do

not consider me your friend?And why did you take the help of Azazel to find a job? Oh!

Sorry, I forgot he is your boyfriend.” he said sarcastically.

Asriel's every word was directly affecting Harriet's heart and

his last line made her feel a strange pain in her heart.

She responded by controlling herself,

“I have to do the job now and it is not that I am in a hurry to

pay your money or not, but I have to pay it sometime. When

mom will recover and return home even then I won't let her

work.”

“I want to ask you one more thing”

Harriet was a little nervous she probably knew what Asriel

wanted to ask but she nodded. “Why did you accept Azazel’s

proposal? I don't think you like him and do you know

anything about him,” he asked hesitantly.

“This is not your concern, I like him or not.” She paused for a

while and said,

“And I know one thing about him that he doesn’t hurt anyone

by his words.”

She controlled her emotions and said, "I gotta go, take care."

She was not looking at him because she knew it well in her

heart that she was lying to herself and Asriel.After saying that she left. Asriel was hurt and confused as

well by her words. Asriel felt as if someone had hit several

daggers in his heart simultaneously.

He wanted to stop her, hug her and tell her what he felt for

her.

But he could not do anything.
