New Classmates

College semester exams were done, even during a month-long

vacation, Harriet, Elli and Azazel would sometimes plan to

meet and hang out together. Life and friendship were going

well and holidays were over and college started again.

On the first day of college after vacations, Harriet and Elli

came to their class and sat on their seats. After some time,

Azazel also came into the classroom and sat on the back seat.

All students were sitting in the classroom when the professor

came.

“Good morning students, today I will introduce you to two

new students who have been transferred and come to our

college.” Everyone's eyes were on the door, two boys came

in.

“Here, please introduce yourself.” Prof. asked.

“Hello everyone, my name is Asriel Creed. I'm new here so I

hope we have a good time together, thank you” The first boy

introduced himself.

There was no expression on his face, his

height was about 6ft., muscular body and black

doe eyes. He was wearing a plain black shirt with a leather

jacket and black jeans.

“Hello my name is Winston Davis, hope we have a lot of fun

together, Thanks, ``the second boy introduced himself with a

smile. He looked a bit flirtatious.

As the two boys moved

towards seats to sit, when Asriel passed by Harriet's seat, he

looked at Harriet, not wanting to look at him she looked at

him but immediately moved her gaze. Boys sat on their seats.

Elli said while teasing Harriet, “wow! So handsome, what do

you think?”

“I think I saw him somewhere before,” she tried to remember.

“Don’t tell me he is your ex-boyfriend or something” Elli

jokingly said.

“Shut up,” Harriet rolled her eyes.

When the class was over, Harriet and Elli sat in the cafeteria

and Harriet was still trying to remember where she had seen

the guy before. She goes to get something to eat but is still

focused on where she has seen that guy, suddenly she bumped

into someone and when she saw it, No one else but the same

guy Asriel.

“I’m sorry, I didn't pay attention, that's why,” she

said but “Or maybe was paying too much attention to

something,” He said coldly while cutting her words, leaving

her dumbfounded as he went away from there.

“What’s wrong with him?” she muttered.The next day, Harriet was waiting for Elli in college but she

did not come. “may I sit here”

“Yeah Sure”

“Hello! Myself Winston”

“I know New transfer student; Hi! I’m Harriet. Haven't your

friend come today?” Harriet asked with curiosity.

“Yes, but he is busy with some work,” Winston replied with a

smile. After some time Asriel came and sat on the back seat.

Looking at Asriel, Harriet thought in her mind ‘what is the

problem of this guy. It’s been a day he has come to college

and is showing so much attitude.’

Harriet, Elli and Azazel often sat in the cafeteria during the

break. One day the trio were sitting, then Winston came there

and asked, “May I also join you guys?” Azazel was about to

refuse when Elli spoke, “sure, why not.”

“Thank you,” Winston said.

Azazel did not like Winston sitting there and he left angrily.

“What happened to him,” Winston asked in confusion.

``Nothing leave him alone he’ll be alright” Harriet said, “so

why are you here?”

“Because I want to be friends with you guys,” he replied.

“Ok, what about your friend and your family,” Elli asked.“Um! Asriel is my one and only friend and he is also my

family because I lost my parents in an accident.”

“Oh! I’m sorry” Elli felt bad for him.

“No no, it’s fine.” Winston was a good person with a great

sense of humour.

The three started talking and within a few days they became

very good friends but Azazel did not like Winston.

In the past few days, Harriet became friends with Winston.

She tried her best to talk to Asriel but he ignored her. She was

desperate to talk to him, to know about him because she felt

pain in his cold eyes.

Once again Harriet had the same dream and she was very

scared. Her mother consoled her. That day she was very sad

when Elli asked her, she told everything about her dream to

Elli.

Because she was sad, she did not go to the cafeteria and went

to the library. Elli and Winston went to the cafeteria and

Azazel went to the library behind Harriet. She was sitting

quietly on a seat near the window and kept her head on the

table with her eyes closed. Suddenly Azazel came and

frightened her by making a strange sound. This enraged

Harriet, she shouted to Azazel and left. As she was angrily

passing through the college corridor,she noticed at some distance, Asriel was talking to a girl.

Harriet got even angrier after seeing that. Not wanting to, her

footsteps took her to Asriel.

“If I talk to you, you have a problem, you don't talk to me,

may I know the reason?” She said angrily.

“I do not think I am obliged to answer this and anyway we are

not good friends that I should talk to you or listen to your

nonsense,” he said rudely and left from there with that girl.

Harriet stood there silently with tears in her eyes and kept

looking at Asriel until he completely disappeared from her

sight. Asriel left from there and sat alone in a quiet place. He

was sad because of his behaviour with Harriet. He was feeling

unbearable pain.

Harriet did not come to college for two days after Asriel

behaved like that. When Winston asked Elli, she told him that

Harriet was not coming to college because of her health.

“Love what happened, why are you not going to college for

two days?” Her mother asked softly.

She was lying on the bed. “Nothing mom, I was just tired so I

didn't go and anyway I will go to college today.”

“Ok go and get ready,” Her mother said, kissing her forehead

and went from there.Harriet sat in front of her mirror and looked herself in the

mirror and told herself,

“You do not need to think about that rude Asriel, think about

your studies and your friends and your mother and care about

them.” But in her heart, she was aware that something was

happening to her.

She went to college and she met her friend and gave her a

tight hug. “Are you alright now?” Elli asked while hugging

her back.

“Yes I’m fine now At first the mind was a bit spoiled, but

now it is okay.”

“I know you think more about Asriel but I think Azazel likes

you, that's why he doesn't like Asriel because you think and

talk too much about Asriel.”

“There is nothing like that, neither I think about Mr Rude

Asriel nor Azazel about me and please you stop saying these

things again and again and pay attention to studies.”

“Ok I was just saying, if you don’t want to talk about then it’s

ok,” Elli said while walking towards their class.

The students in the class were gossiping about something, but

Harriet and Elli were busy talking on their own, due to which

they did not pay attention to them; when they were sitting in

the cafeteria in the break,while Azazel came from one side and Winston from the other

side. And sat down with Harriet and Elli. Just then, Asriel

passed by closely. He glanced at Harriet.

He wanted to apologize for his behaviour but when he saw

Azazel he quietly left. “Do you know that a girl from our

class has been murdered and her dead body is found on the

road near the forest?” Winston asked with a very careful

manner.

“What….?” Elli reacted.

“Yes, her name was Sophie, the police said that she was

murdered two days ago,” Azazel told them.

Harriet was shocked to hear the girl's name because she was

the same girl whom she had seen with Asriel two days ago.

“But two days ago I saw her with Asriel,” she told them.

“This means he murdered her,” Azazel said, making a serious

face.

“Stop blaming my friend without any proof and I know him

very well anyway, he is a very good person, he cannot do

such a thing, you understand,” Winston said angrily and

banged his hand on the table and then he went away. Harriet

was in a dilemma as to whether Asriel had done that or not.

Somewhere her heart was saying that he could not do that.Elli didn't like it when Winston walked away angrily. There was a different feeling for Winston in Elli's heart in these days of friendship.
