An old tale pt.3

After knocking away Viral an unknown winger figure was floating above the ground. It had four pairs of wings coming out of it's back, shinning platinum colored armor covering its glowing body. It was like an angel.

I was looking at it shocked thinking that I've never seen anything like it. While I was watching the entity I noticed the sky was staring get brighter. I looked behind me and saw a giant ring of light above the capital and many shinning lights flying out from the ring.

I wasn't sure what was happening any more. Was this an attack from the demons or the other races to finish of humanity, was this backup sent by the alliance, was this something else altogether, I didn't know. As I was thinking about what was going on I quickly looked back at the battle hearing a loud clashing sound. I saw that the glowing winged being blocked Virals axe and was holding on to it.

Viral struggling to get his axe back said,

"Let go you damn glowing freak!!! What even are you?"

The glowing being spoke in a monotone tone,

"You who have broken the balance of this world, have been deemed guilty. You will receive retribution for your sins."

Finishing his sentence the being open his palm and Viral got sent flying again but this time with even more force. Then the winged being spoke again,

"Your sins are many and your fate has been decided. Now be silent and accept your end."

It then raised its arm and pointed towards Viral. Suddenly a blast of pressured air was sent towards Viral and created a massive impact. Dust covered the area but from within the dust Viral jumped out to attack it again but was pushed away by its unusual power. Viral was bleeding from his wounds that were slowly healing, most of his armor was broken and he was breathing heavily. The great demon general that we couldn't even touch let alone wound was being thrown around like he was nothing.

Viral looked at the creature with rage filled eyes and was about to say something but it vanished and instantly appeared behind him. With a single touch Viral got sent flying again. Viral landed several meters away and was just lying there screaming. It broke his spine, he couldn't get up anymore. It flew closer to him and then picked him up saying,

"Task completed. Farewell."

As it clenched his head Viral exploded and all his blood and guts got sent flying in the direction it was holding him.

I stood there in awe and horror. I thought to myself,

"It..it's so strong. It killed him like he was nothing."

It then turned to me as I flinched back a little and then I flew away. I ran towards the captain to check on him but it was too late, he was dead. He lost too much blood. When backup arrived I was the only one they found alive in our camp, everyone who ran didn't make it. They were taken out by the demons that attacked from the other directions. They reached the capital and many people were killed and even more would've died if the angel like beings didn't arrive from the glowing ring in the sky. This was the first arrival of our otherworldly saviors.

They were later called angels and their arrival shifted the tides of war in our favor. The demons couldn't match their power and surrendered. They then gathered all the demons and locked them in a pocket dimension that was later named the forbidden realm. Before they left after the war they left us with a gift, we received unique scecial powers from them known as Fuerza. It was unique to humanity which didn't need much mana to sustain that caused us to stand by all the other races on equal footing.

Different peoples Fuerza had different effects from each other. The power I recieved lets me generate and manipulate kinetic energy in my body and anything I come in contact with. I later found out this was the exact power the angel was using against Viral that on that day but my power output was much less.

Thanks to my fuerza I quickly climbed up the ranks and got a position as the guild leader, the highest ranking position second to only the king himself. Humanity grew more and more both in power and in influence all thanks to the powers we received.

I opened my eyes again after I hear my son calling my name. My elder son Toren said to me,

"You called, dad?"

He turned 18 last month and got registered as an adventurer at the guild. I told him,

"Yes, come in. I think you can guess why I called you, right?"

He replied,

"Is this about the report you got about the demon trafficking?"

I looked at him and said,

"Yes. I'm thinking of bringing you with me to investigate. You wouldn't mind, won't you?"

He said with a confident smile on his face,

"You bet I will. Wouldn't miss it."

I smirked back at him and nodded.

After the war everyone thought that all the demons were gone but the truth were a few demons got away. But dew to their small numbers and the growing strength of humanity they couldn't do anything but run and hide. The king ordered that all these demons were to be hunted down and killed but some nobles who were drunk on their new found power decided to capture the demons instead and use them as slaves or if the demon is a girl, they get used for other purposes.

They hire mercenaries to capture these loose demons and keep them at hidden bases to train or rather break their minds so they would be more compliant. We received some information about one of these camps and the king ordered me to raid it.

I thought about bringing my son along with me to get him more on field experience. We got our equipment ready and left for the slave camps location that we were given.
