An old tale pt.2

After getting slashed and passing out I began to wake up again. I don't know how long it's been but I suspect that it wasn't very long. I was still bleeding from my wound. It was hurting alot but I managed to get up slowly. I began walking towards the base camp hoping that the captain managed to beat the attacking demons. I limped my way to the camp and I saw bodies scattered around everywhere, some were human and some were demons. I heard the sounds of clashing swords and immediately looked over to the source of the sound and saw our captain and vice captain was engaged in combat with multiple demons. The vice captain was taking on the regular one horned demons and the captain was taking on a two horned demon who was bigger than the rest. The vice captain named Rez was distracting the lesser demon group so captain Andersen could focus on the bigger one witch seemed to be their leader.

I clenched my sword and was going to go and help them when both of them called out to me and told me to stay out of this.

The captain said while still dueling with the leader,

"Don't come any closer, you're wounded and if you attract their attention now you can't defend yourself. "

V.c Rez also yelled out,

"Run away while you still can. Most of our men were killed and the rest were told to run away."

Still fighting the lesser demons and swinging his swords matching blows with all the demons at once added,

"If you're thinking about helping us then don't. You'll only get in our way."

I knew I was no match for them, all I could do was just stand there and watch helplessly as they fought alone. But if anyone could fight them alone with any chance of winning it was them. I hid myself at a distance and watched their fight.

The vice captain was also a great fighter. He used his outstanding speed and swift sword strikes to take down his enemies. His opponents couldn't even react in time as he duel wields two short swords which he swings at tremendous speeds. His reaction time was so fast that he could instantly dodge all the coming attacks as he was doing now weaving his way through all the demons attacks and countering fast enough to reach them before they could move out of the way. His hits weren't as strong as the captains but he made up for it with his barrage of high speed attacks. Its with this inhuman speed that he's cutting down demon after demon almost effortlessly.

Our captain was the strongest swordsman among us humans, he was a perfect warrior with a calm and collective mind. No matter the situation he would always find a way. He wielded a greatsword and wore silver armor. His strength was unmatched and could even match those of the other races. He was almost even with the leader he was fighting. The demon was useing a huge axe that he was swinging very easily despite it's large size. But captain Andersen met all the hits with his greatsword, at first it looked like he was matching the demon blow for blow equality but in reality he was slowly being pushed back. Every hit was very heavy for him to fully counter but even so he didn't back down.

As the demon was pushing captain back more and more suddenly v.c Rez appeared behind the demon and swung both his swords at the demons neck. It was a clean hit but the blades bounced off the demons neck like it was nothing. V.c Rez landed behind the demon and quickly got into position again.

The demon laughed and said,

"You pathetic ******, you really think an attack like that will hurt me. Don't get full of yourself just because managed to kill those disposable fodder."

He was about to something else when V.c Rez jumped at him again doing a spinning kick to his face but this didn't even faze the demon and as he raised his axe up he said,

"Don't make me laugh. Stop humiliating yourself and just die!!!"

He smashed his axe down on the ground at the vice captain but he jumped out of the way and captain Andersen immediately cane in attacking at the demon while the axe was stuck in the ground.

He said as he swing his sword at the demons head,

"Don't underestimate us humans!!!"

The demon letting go of the axe moved out of the way and immediately kicked the captain, sending him flying a few meters away. The captain got up coughing blood and got into stance again.

The demon looked at captain and said,

"Underestimate you? No. We didn't even think of you as a threat thus didn't consider you in any of our plans and still ended up whipping you out. Thats how insignificant you are"

The great demon then slowly starts to walk towards captain as he taunts,

"Did you people really think that you had any chance of surviving let alone winning."

V.c Rez rushed at him from his blindspot to attack but the demon quickly turned around and caught him, holding him by the head and casually throwing him at a tree. He spins around mid air to cushion the impact.

The demon continues to walk towards the captain saying,

"Do you even know who I am? I am Virel, one of the 12 great generals of Tiamon empire."

As he was talking Rez threw one of his swords at him like a projectile and said,

"Dosen't matter who you are, you'll be dead anyway."

Viral causally dodges the sword and replies,

"Well said, you really don't have to care if you're dead. "

At that momment captain Andersen jumped at him to do a downward strike which Viral intercepted by punching him mid air. He then said,

"Wait your turn. I'll get right to you after I crush that bug over there."

He then grabbed the handle of his axe and pulled it out of the ground. He changed at Rez swinging violently as he laughs at V.c Rez doing his best trying to dodge and parry his attacks. But eventually when he tried to block Virals attack with his sword it shattered on impact and the axe hit his body sending him flying. As he landed I saw that his arm was cut of and half his stomach was split open.

Just like that one of humanity's strongest has died. Viral turns at captain and said as he walks towards him,

"One down, one to go. And after you I'm going have fun tearing through that pathetic little excuse you people call a capital."

He began laughing maniacally as began charging at captain. Captain Andersen was shocked by V.c Rez's death but he didn't even have time to mourn as Viral was already infront of him ready to attack. Captain got his sword ready to block the hit. He successfully parried Virals swing and immediately went into the counter. They were exchanging blow after blow, sparks were flying from the clashes of their weapons but captain was getting pushed back again. Captain went in to ****** his sword with all his remaining strength but Viral side stepped away and swiftly appeared behind Captain. Viral was about to swing his axe to finally finish off captain. Captain Andersen couldn't react in time, all he could do was watch as he was about to be killed. But that didn't happen. Right before the axe hit the captain suddenly a flash of light shone and knocked back Viral into some rubble. Captain fell to his knees and looked at the light to see a strange figure floating above the ground.
