Chapter 2

I came to other bedroom to wake my five years old babies or else we would be late for our flight. As I reach their bed I admire both of them sleeping so soundly without a care in the world and both look so much like him that I’m afraid that they might become a carbon copy of their dad. Even though they have their dads physical appearance but their personalities are quite opposite. I named the elder one Shiv who is always careful and responsible while the younger one Sumit is always smiling just so he could show off his cute dimples.

I wake Shiv up and tell him to wake his brother up and get ready. while I make breakfast for all of us. While I’m half way the door bell rings and I open the door to let my best friend Rahul in, who’s also my kids godfather who’s also six feet and average army looking guy with a good sense of humour. He joined army just like his father but still he has helped me so much in the past and even now, when I told him about my plan he was ready to support me saying that no matter what I will always be their for you.

Today he’s casually dressed in a black t shirt and jeans with black shoes, it’s like he only owns black colour clothes and has his shoulder travelling bag. In any other situation, I might have thought he again here to take me for camping but not today. He comes inside and after keeping his bag down makes his way straight to the kitchen.

Archie I told you to make something good. What’s this it won’t be enough for me.

And their goes my peaceful morning. This guy might be in army but he sure eats like a pig all the time. Upon hearing his voice the kids rush out with their toothbrushes to meet their godfather. Now I have to handle all of them.

Idiot just let me make the breakfast. And you guys go and finish brushing your teeth and I talk to him.

Yes, kiddos finish brushing fast as I have something for you both.

Upon hearing this, the kids run off and I again start preparing omelette while Rahul just sits on the kitchen chair. That pig always wanting to eat without doing any work. He just won’t give up on this conversation.

Archie are you really sure about this, like I know what you have been through and all but still is this really what you want, if I had known you would do this, I would have never told you about his engagement.

I know that you care about me but still I want to get my revenge on him, even though I’m happy with my current life I still can’t forget about the past. Last week when you told me about him getting engaged I just felt so angry that how can he have a marriage when I can never have it now.

You can get married if that’s what you want. I’m just afraid for you.

No one wants to get married to someone with two kids. And I have only hate left for him now and I’m determined to make his life miserable.

What about your kids?

Well it’s time that they meet their father and even if something happens I’m sure you will be their to protect them.

I just hope you don’t end up getting yourself hurt again.

Don’t worry ,I won’t . Now shut up and eat.

We all have a quick breakfast after which I leave the responsibility on Rahul to get the kids ready. I enter my bedroom to do last minute packing and then decide to take a quick shower as it’s going to be a long day with a tough battle to fight in the evening.
