It was sunny, hot, crowded, and noisy and the scent of different things and people was mixed in. It was just a typical scenario of my daily life, being accustomed to walking from my home to the subway station.
This day was nothing special but what makes me wonder was, I suddenly went here early. Am I waiting...looking for someone? Then who? I don't know.
I took a deep sigh, being bewildered by my action. I just shrug my shoulders and decided to wear my black earphone and listen to the songs by Lauv to distract my unusual self.
while the train is not here yet, I choose to stand at the waiting shed and wait. Wandering around, roaming my eyes here and there until my eyes got stuck to a familiar girl.
She's not as beautiful as the models nor tall like a volleyball player but I can't help myself but to continuously stare at her. Why? I don't know.
I was about to approach her but then the crowd flocked in and she suddenly disappeared in my sight. So I just again, took a sigh and did not bother to look for her anymore and just gave up. She's not that important anyway and also the train already arrived.
A few hours later, my day went smoothly. In the morning, I took a extra class because of a failed subject of mine, History. Then, I went to a house to tutor an elementary school kid, and when the night comes away I will go to the coffee shop to work part-time.
"Kuya! Favor! Can you take my place at the counter? It's just for a moment promise! I'm starving right now, I'm just going to eat for a minute"
( Kuya- a Filipino term that is used as a polite title or form of address for an older man)
"Alright"
"Thank you!"
It was already 9:00 in the evening and we were about to close. Fortunately, the cafe is not too crowded right now, so I think we're gonna wrap up early.
"Hi Good evening!"
I was able to lift my head as someone greeted me in front of the counter. And of course, it is an employer's basic etiquette to smile when there is a customer in front of you.
"Good evening Ma'am! Can I take your order please?"
"Right! Can I have your heart?—I mean can I have a strawberry cake and americano?"
"Hot americano or iced americano?"
"Amm I was hoping to have...as hot as you?—charot! Hot americano please"
( Charot- is a Filipino slang that means as 'just kidding' or 'not true. The term charot comes from gay lingo but is now used more in common places.)
"Name?"
"Babe—I mean Bea"
" That's P345.00 Ma'am"
"Here, please keep the change. If you can, can you keep me too? joke"
"pfft—Please just wait at the seat in the corner Ma'am we'll just call your name."
"Ok Thank you"
I just shook my head and inevitably grinned as I prepared what she ordered. Ah yes, she's the woman I saw before. She's weird lol.
