The City (3/4)

The sound of gear like movements switching into action giving the sense of danger. I looked at the two target like shootie things. There was nothing like this in my past life. The Elf Examiner gave me a pair of throwing knives which I devoured. After A few seconds of waiting two wooden discs flew out at high speeds in different angles. I imagined throwing two throwing knives at them and two throwing knives went at them.

The process repeated for about 10 times each one at faster and unknown times. But that's what made it fun. I missed throwing things at enemies and piercing their skulls. The best thing is, is that in this beast man for I can hear and smell things better and before humans can. Which helps a lot in assassinations.

I have seen so many people die and so many people get killed. Never have I felt so glad to not be throwing things at other people aiming to kill. It felt reinvigorating being able to throw something at something and not have blood splatter.

After a while the wooden pieces stopped coming indicating it was out of wood. "The test is over!" Yelled the Elf with excitement. I went to the wooden blocks and touched them. feeling the groove I hit. "It was adolescent." I said while standing up "Next time you test someone on this use a old dead tree, their lives have ended while these ones lives had just started."

They a looked at me with a bit of curiosity on why I said it but they will never get an answer that magic instructor only blushed. "Why is she blushing?" I thought to myself. "When monsters give other creatures ring shaped items it shows that they like them." The great sage said with a little chuckle. "Why didn't you says so earlier you old bag of bones!" I yelled in my thoughts while blushing lightly. Betrayal happened in my last life and I'm fearful of it in this life. The only reason why I didn't tear Zilla in two when I learned her name was because I had figured she wasn't the same. But the fear of love still lingers in me. For the thought of getting betrayed tears me apart. I left my thoughts there trying not to dwell on it when I finally decided to say "Oh yeah we never learned your names. or would you like me to continue with calling you all by your race with instructor. Mr Birdman instructor."

Everyone cracked a chuckle at the laughter and the duck looking swordsman instructor blushed a little.

"Alright I'm Quach. you little bastard." said the birdman.

"I'm Reich and she is Weich." said the twin archers.

"I'm Elfea." said the Elf.

"I'm Natalia. The only human besides from those two here." Said the magic instructor pointing at Quo and Zilla.

After we all got acquainted we all had small talk when someone barged in yelling "Wheres that B*tchy sl*t Natalia, tell her Theo is here!"

Everyone looked that way when I looked at Natalia she was shaking from fear. Everyone looked at the man and everyone was shocked. "Oh there you are you Sl*t" Theo yelled at her while walked towards her and grabbing her hair and tugging it. We could hear the whimpers coming from her. The man named Thek slapped over and over again while saying "you dare run away from me!"

After about the seventh slap I Lost my temper and grabbed his hand. "Hands off." I said while looking dead in his eyes. "And Who are you to mess with the great Baron Theo?!" he said while looking at me with disgust and anger. "Hands Off!" I said one final time showing bloodlust "or you wont have hands to touch anything."

Everyone was surprised by the sudden change in my tone. For ten seconds he hadn't removed his hand from her then flames started gushing out of his wrist. Screams of pain could be heard. When he left her hand his wrist was so severely burned that it had melted in some spots. "You bastard!" He said yelling as he made a magic circle and chanted "Oh mother of earth grant me your strength to impale this enemy in your earthly coffin- Earth Spikes" The minute the chanting was done spikes of earth impaled me from all directions "HAHAHA HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT YOU BASTARD!" He yelled at me not noticing there was no blood coming out of me.

When his laughter got old I decided to say "Are you done." While looking at him with a bland face. "Huh how are you not dead I impaled you?!" he yelled with great pitch. "Oh you did impale me but my body moved itself in a way that your spikes didn't infact hurt me." I said while pointing at the way my abdomen was split into 8 different strings and it moved out like a spider web enveloping the whole of this terrain. The boy was shocked and yelled "Monster!"

I walked out of the spikes and walked towards him while he walked back he tripped and looked at me in fear while murmuring 'Don't kill me'.

I stopped at 3 feet from him and said "What is your relation with Natalia?"

"We are Engaged" he said while looking down.

"Did she want this engagement?" I said while looking at her while she is still shivering in fear.

"No it was forced upon her." He said while looking at the ground while shivering.

"Break off the engagement or leave your legs and tongue behind." I said while getting up and walking away. He just looked at me walking. Then suddenly I was looking at the ground and a sword. It took about 3 minutes to put my head back on when I had seen a man in a guard type suit helping the man up. "I dislike when my head gets chopped off." I said while walking towards the man. Everyone in the room was shocked to see me still alive. Natalia had tears flowing from her eyes. I looked at the man in a suit only when he heard my voice had he noticed the large amounts of murderous death aura around me. "Oh heavens." the man said while looking at my body as I started changing my form. My body started changing from looking like a man to looking like a beastkin then my face deformed shaping into a wolfs face while the rest of my body grew hair. My limbs detached and were held together by slime. Only when I finished did people see my true might. In seconds I was behind the man in a rage slashing his back in a phantom attack making him feel the pain burning in his mind. He screamed in pain and terror as he turned back and saw my body close up. After about an hour of teasing him I got bored and used predator swallowing him whole. Leaving everyone in the room speechless. When I changed back I took the mans abilities and features.

After seeing Natalia shaking in fear I walked over to her and asked "Are you ok?" while stretching my hand to her. Natalia replied "Yeah just a little surprised at the way you were acting to the man" while taking my hand. "He chopped off my head." I said while touching my neck "I might not die by that but it still hurts." I added while looking at the man that pissed himself half way through his guard being tortured. I walked over to him and poked him in the stomach with a sword tip. "You don't stop acting the same thing is going to happen to you." I said while still poking his stomach with the sword blade.

When the words left my mouth he immediately got up and said "Please don't kill me." while tears running from his eyes. "Fine break off your Engagement to Natalia first." I said while being disgusted at the man's appearance. "Done! I Theo Arabus here by break off my engagement to Natalia Williams!" He said while tearing the engagement forms. "Good now scram before I change my mind." I said while looking at him with a big face of disgust.

After those words he ran from the colosseum. Everyone looked at me while I said "What is my face too handsome?" after those words were said all the women turned their faces to the side. Quach took the opportunity to ask "What are you?" he looked at me with great curiosity. "A creature despised by all gods hunted by humans since ancient times, the formless while also having a form." I said while looking at him "Abandoned to history my race is called origin." I said reciting everything that the great sage had said while also adding "Natalia also knows my race since she has great sage but she doesn't know how I came to be or how I was born."

Everyone looked at me with a look of surprise and then Elfea said "There's no way your a mythical creature from the ancient demon angel race." Reich also added "They were all destroyed in the last great war one hundred thousand years ago."

They all discused theories on what I am and if I truly am what I say I am while me and Natalia stayed out of it talking on our own. "So are you a baron or someone of a higher class?" I asked while looking at her with questioning eyes. "I'm the daughter of a dutchess." she said but then added "I was... I was expelled for not wanting the marriage proposal of the perverse prince."

I then listened quietly to her story and how she came to be like this I then said "Do you regret not taking the offer of marrying him?"

"No." she said while showing emotionless eyes.

"I'd destroy the kingdom if something happened to you." I said in a low tone. "Huh what did you say?" Natalia asked while querying about what I said to her great sage but him not saying anything.

"I said I'll protect a friend even if it meant killing an army or two." I said while looking at her smiling and thanking the great sage in my head. "O-Oh" were the sounds she made while blushing harder than she was when I handed her the hypotic ring.

"Your lucky" I said. "For what" she asked while looking at me. "That ring is a one of a kind the hypotic flower in it has the ability to change forms to your favorite flower or herb when I or it devour it and it can store Items a one if a kind artifact." I said while leaving out the fact that it also doubles as a monitoring, communications, and defensive mechanism.

She looked at me in great surprise while looking at the ring and asked "How do you get it to store or devour things?"

"Simple here is the chant for

Storing- Oh ring of the Anomaly store my preferred Item inside this tiny space

and for Devouring- Oh ring of Anomaly devour my prey and become my greatest secret devour all." I said while looking at her cute face and added "but you don't have to say it out loud you just have to say it in your head."

She looked at me with great admiration for being able to create something like this. Then the others finally stopped their theorems and decided to finally talk to us again. "What do you think Natalia?" they said while looking at her for answers. "What he said was true my great sage proved it." she said while looking at me with a hint of happiness in her eyes almost happy to be sitting next to me. I looked at them and said "Here os proof" I said while burning my entire hand into melted goop and them watching it turn into a thick but solid mist and reforming making a new hand. "That hurt" I said while moving my hand around. They all looked at me and Natalia yelled "Are you crazy!" as she grabbed my hand and started inspecting it making sure there was nothing wrong. When she finally knew what she was doing she released my hand and blushed the same way I was. except hers was in a cute manor I would want no one else to see besides me.

Than everyone chimed in on our own little world between us and Elfea said "you really do have the ability to heal your wounds like them." while also giving them a mocking look. "But then why did your body release slime before?" Reich. "Before I gained conscious a slime had jumped into my dwelling when I was a nonentity and I devoured it subconsciously and took it's form is what I think at least." I said while looking at them "My soul was in a pitch black abyss before this and I hadn't had my conscious until a little while until Quo and Zilla appeared with the white wolf that I also devoured." they all listened intently looking at the way I explained when they finally deduced I wasn't lying.

"What was it like? before you gained conscious I mean." Elfea asked.

"Endless darkness that felt like it lasted for eternity the loneliness unbearable when I was about to give in a weak and frail voice asked if I wanted power I said yes and it glowed giving me this body. as if lifting an endless curse." I said while suddenly feeling a headache. The pain I felt was unbearable to the point I passed out. I was back in the darkness. The same voice saying "Young devil you have gained my power, use it well and protect the ones by your side." it repeated 100 times until it ended at the 100th and I awoke to find something surprising to my eyes.
