Episode 3

Veronica felt uneasy and asked to see Tom. His mother agreed to take

her to the hospital because she had been taking care of him and wanted a break from the stress.

He had gotten serious injuries on his face and body, Veronica was able to see him in the hospital.

Tom was unrecognizable. The boy she loved, she obsessed about. His face was beyond recognition. He was unconscious. She cried on seeing him and silently held his hand. Her tears fell on his hand.

“Hey, I know that you don’t love or even like me because I’m not pretty. I’m one of those nerdy girls who like to stay in the shadows.

I thought or maybe I was mistaken about the fact that you’ll like me

if I become beautiful. Anyways I realized that you got hurt because of

me. I promise to fix everything even though you won’t give me a chance

to come near you. I love you Tom even though it kills me. I’ll stay in

the shadows and won’t chase you again because I can’t bear to hurt

you. I promise. Veronica sobbed.

She didn’t know that Tom was listening to her every word. He just felt as if a power was clearing his head. Making him listen to the girl who held his hand. He was heavily sedated so he could just barely move his fingers. Veronica didn’t pay attention as she was crying.

Veronica left the hospital soon and tried to find the Tarot lady again. Soon she found the lady and told her about the situation. She was begging her to take the beauty charm back. “Please take it back.

It is a curse not a blessing. It has only brought me sadness. Please.”

The lady looked quietly at her and thought, “This poor girl has learned her lesson.”

She told Veronica to sleep. When she wakes up, it will be gone.

Veronica slept for an hour. On waking up she came to know that it was all an illusion.

The Tarot lady had actually showed her the future if she had actually given her the beauty charm. The truth was she didn’t give her any

charm at all. None of it had actually happened. Veronica was so happy to know that no one had gotten hurt.

Veronica thanked the Tarot lady and went home.

A few weeks later , Veronica was sitting alone and she didn’t know that Tom was watching her keenly. “She looks very familiar. For some reason, whenever I look at her, I can’t get hold of my emotions.” He thought.

He saw a guy walking towards her and it made him panic. Tom ran and cut the guy off. He asked Veronica. "Hi Ver, I was wondering if you

want to hang out with me this weekend?"

Veronica smiled and thought, “Looks like, that beauty charm wasn’t a curse completely."

For once she didn't have to do anything.

“Ok, sure”. She said and both of them walked to class together.
