Episode 2

Veronica was ecstatic. She was looking forward to catch a glimpse of Tom. But for some reason, Tom didn’t show up the entire day. She asked a few students and no one had the slightest clue.

Veronica was upset. The entire day, she ignored all the stares of jealous girls and just wanted to see Tom. A few boys tried to approach

her as well but she declined all of them politely. Finally, after waiting an entire day for Tom, she headed home with a heavy heart.

That night, Veronica tried to think about how she had become pretty so suddenly.

Then she realized that she had actually met a Tarot card lady on a new

moon festival, who gave her a beauty charm saying that it would

activate on a full moon. “Come here my dear child. Let me see what you

want.” A middle-aged woman wearing lots of odd rings said. Veronica just looked at her and she doesn’t know what came over her. She

followed the woman into her odd room. “You want beauty, my child.

Beauty always comes with a price. Will you be able to afford it?”

Veronica just nodded although her mind wasn’t processing at all that

moment. She was thinking, “she probably just conning me but anyways she looks very mysterious. Lets just try this. It wouldn’t hurt to

try.” She was looking around in the room slowly.

There was just a single problem. Veronica didn’t pay attention to that part the beauty charm will steal the beauty from others and give it to

the owner as she was busy daydreaming. Actually she didn’t even believe that charm had some power.

A week passed. A girl got involved in a drugs case and some people destroyed her face. Soon two more incidents followed with the same

situation, a boy and girl were scarred permanently. Veronica didn't have any idea that all of this would be related to her. A month had gone by and no sign of Tom. There were some flying rumors that Tom had left the high school. Veronica was devasted.

One day she had just returned from high school and was going upstairs

when her mother called her. “Ver, come down. Someone wants to see

you.” Veronica went to see the guest. Surprisingly it was Tom’s mother. Tom’s mother were her mother’s friend and would often come to

their house or invite them to theirs on holiday festivities.

“Hi there, kiddo. How are you? You’ve become more beautiful than the last time I saw you.” Said Tom’s mother.

“I’m fine auntie. How are you and how’s Tom? Why he isn’t coming to school?” Veronica asked.

“Well don’t ask. He got himself in a weird accident. His face was ruined completely. It is so scary. It is as if someone deliberately

wanted to make him looked ugly.” Said his mother who was about to cry.
