A Dream? New World?

“It’s time for you to leave this space…” Sweet yet sad voice was heard, two people got up from the big stone in front of small yet beautiful cottage. One of them was a beautiful and graceful woman named Zhou Jun who had created an entire independent space where remaining 1% of Earth’s human beings were sleeping. She was using her own hundreds of years of cultivation just to provide this remaining 1% of people which nearly numbered to 80 million with a second chance to live. She was slowly sacrificing her hard-earned powers and herself, while continuously evolving these remaining Earth’s humans so they can adapt to the world they were going to live in from today. It is a magical world where one could gain strength and magical powers by defeating monsters. This world consists of numerous different races like Vampires, dragons, elves, etc that only existed in Earth’s typical games where people used to play roles of different races. This was just an imagination for people from the Earth till these weird things happened but now it was going to be the reality for them. The reality that they had to accept.

Next to her, Chu Feng stood silently as he looked at rising sun while taking Zhou Jun’s small hand in his hand. Chu Feng had received special system from her and World's spirit which was mainly created by World Spirit’s origin energy. During last days when he was on Earth, he had the same fake system named as ‘World End System’ so he kept the same name when new system was recreated for him but that name unknowingly determined what he would have to do in future which made him realize how much power could words that we speak have.

He gripped her hand tightly and turned toward her. He had a sad look on his face while his eyes were filled with endless anxiety and confusion. They just stood looking into each other’s eyes without saying a word as both of them knew that this was possibly the last moment that they had, to spend together.

Chu Feng slowly took her into his embrace as he couldn't just continue to hold his emotions back while looking into her eyes which were holding immense sadness and love but still had calm look on the surface; it made his heart ache. Finally, when he started to feel her shivering body in his embrace, he spoke “Is there really no other way?”

Zhou Jun buried her face into his chest and as soon as she felt his warmth, her eyes immediately started to give out two streams of tears. She replied having hard time to speak as she couldn’t keep her usual calm anymore “I used half of my soul origin to strengthen everyone’s body and then protect their souls from getting crushed during transfer process. I won’t survive travelling through space with half of my soul origin gone so I gave it to you yesterday. This is my fate and I have seen it countless times. It was filled with complete darkness. I couldn't change it. I can't change it. But I my soul will still be with you till it vanishes in the river of time.

Chu Feng heart was beating like it had gone crazy. Every word of her was like a hot needle piercing through his skin all over his body which made him unable to think what he should say or do. She was just a lonely woman who was saving lives of millions of people who had clearly no relation with her. He admired and respected her for that. He didn’t have deep feelings for her at the start when he had arrived in this space a year ago; he barely remembered her but he slowly got used to her detached and calm yet kind personality. He used to admire her for her sacrifice and later he even started to like her a bit when he got to know her but he immediately denied those feelings as he didn’t want to disrespect her.

He continued to act normal in front of her, even though his feelings for her grew stronger day by day. He wanted to somehow relay his feelings to her but he didn't want to disrespect other's feelings for him. But the day before when she finally opened her heart to him, it made it even harder for him to admit his feelings for her as it would seem that he was just showing sympathy to a dying woman. But now everything was different as they were going to lose each other forever after these few moments. He didn’t know what will happen tomorrow, he didn’t know if he could see this woman who was crying in his embrace right now, the woman that he loved. She had lived for hundreds of years but she was just a naive girl sealed deep within her heart as she had gone through bitter past. He didn’t want to lose her but he was frustrated that he could do nothing right now. He was too weak to do anything about it.

“Can’t you reincarnate like how it is always mentioned in those cultivation novels?” Chu Feng asked in a bit panic in his voice as he just wanted to find a way to keep her with him.

“I can’t. Divine Soul is necessary to reincarnate when you reach a certain realm of strength. With half of it gone, I can’t reincarnate ever again. This is goodbye for us, not just in this life but forever.” She tightened her hug even more while trying to keep her calm amd not break down like a little girl. She always loved to teach various things and with her calm personality, it made her great teacher but at this moment Chu Feng couldn't understand how could she still have courage to explain these kind of things knowing that this was the last moment for her.

“You can’t give up. I won’t give up either. I will make sure to find you. I will save you. Didn’t you give me half of your soul?... You will always be with me and I will always keep getting stronger. I will definitely revive you when I get stronger. I am sorry, I am so weak right now. I…” Chu Feng was unable to act calmly anymore so his feelings started to come out on his tongue but he was stopped before he could express it as Zhao Jun knew it was hard for him to confess his feelings to her when he clearly had two other girls in his heart.

“It’s okay. You don’t have to. Just live your life happily. You still have those girls to take care of. Don’t waste your life on me. I know about my situation more than you do. I know I can’t… so now calm down. Don’t say anything else. Just stay like this and let me feel this warmth before I transfer you to the other side.” Zhou Jun knew there was no chance for her to reincarnate without complete soul origin and her remaining half soul will soon disappear too so she didn’t want Chu Feng to waste his life on this impossible task. She had seen nearly infinite future possibilities for the past year since she got to know him but it was always completely dark whenever she looked into it so she knew she had this fate that she couldn’t avoid. She had become numb to this feeling of having no future because if one could actually manage to break past the laws of time then one could only see future till one has its life. So you can only look into future till the moment of your death after which you can not interfare in it anymore so you automatically can not look into further future past that point.

“You should stop saying such things. I will try my best to do what I want and need to do. I will definitely save you because I… because I…” Chu Feng couldn’t say those words again. He felt really bad from inside as he couldn’t say his feelings out loud. He felt like he was disrespecting Yan Lan's and Yan Yanran's feelings for him if he just said his feelings like this as he was currently in love with 3 girls which made him a complete scumbag in his own eyes. He loved them with all his heart but maybe because of the world he was always living in didn't have polygamy that he couldn’t accept these feelings so easily.

“It’s ok. You don’t have to say it. But remember this; the world you will be living in will have such relations so you should not restrain yourself like this. If those girls love you dearly, then they will definitely accept the people you love. It might take a while and it will be hard for you to convince them but you should never give up for the sake of the people you love becuase if you accept one's feeling and reject another's, it will be extremely unfair to them in case you loved both of them with all your heart. Your destiny is already written with lots of love so don't waste it, accept those who love you if you love them. Now go, you will be transferred to outside of a human village or city that I've chosen for you so you better prepare. This is the last thing I can do for you. It will take a week for others to wake up; you can familiarize yourself with the world till then so you will have better chance at taking care of other's. Live happily. If you live a happy life then I will be happy too.” Zhou Jun could easily read his mind through spiritual connection she had established through spirit transfer with him yesterday night so she already knew his emotional troubles. Even though it hurt her, she still didn't want to push him into confessing his feelings for her own selfishness, when he clearly felt uncomfortable about it.

Chu Feng’s body started shining in white light as he started feeling weightless. He knew his time had come and he will soon be in another world which was filled with magical things. His consciousness started to slip away bit by bit, but when he thought that he would never be able to see her again, he forcibly bit his tongue to keep himself awake as he made his decision to do it right now than regretting later. He looked right in Zhou Jun’s eyes with unwavering determination while his lips started moving closer to her lips

“I… I Love You. I Really Love You. Sorry for not telling you this sooner. I promise you, I will do my best … Jun’er…” This was the first time he had ever called her by her name which made her extremely happy from inside. Both of them had tears in their eyes with feeling love and longing kept flowing in the form of these tears as they embraced each other while giving a passionate goodbye kiss, which could only last for few seconds before Chu Feng lost his consciousness and he disappeared from her embrace.

Zhou Jun stood there motionless as if she had lost her soul at this moment. She slowly dropped down to her knees hugging herself with her arms as if she was trying to remember him in her arms from just now before she broke down in tears, crying loudly like a little girl. She had been strong enough to rule a world with significant strength but when she lost two most important people of her life, she could do nothing about it. She lost her sister in the same way and now she had to lose her first love like this. This was the first time she had ever felt so calm with someone other than her sister but she lost him too. First time ever she had witnessed what it meant to be loved but it was just for a day.

She worked so hard to gain the strength that she had so she could live happily with her loved ones but all she could do in the end was to keep watching as they disappeared right in front of her eyes. Only reassurance for her this time was that the one dying was her and not her loved one. In the end, all she could do now was cry her heart out while asking herself,

'Why?! Why did I work so hard till now if I lost everything in the end?'

Bit by bit, space around her started to collapse like a broken glass as it she hhad lost her remaining part of the soul with Chu Feng gone. In the end all that was left was little cottage that Chu Feng and Zhou Jun used while living together for the past year while millions of people used to sleep in the independant space behind the cottage.

After sometime, Cottage slowly crumbled to pieces before disappearing completely within the darkness of never-ending space and soon Zhou Jun's body disappeared in thespace too as she had used all of her remaining spiritual strength to transfer all the remaining people to nearly 650,000 different human villages and cities in the magical world.

Chu Feng’s consciousness returned quickly compared to others as he didn’t have to go through evolution because of Zhou Jun’s and system’s help. He woke up but he didn’t have any strength to get up from ground, all he could do was move his head sideways. Even though he had his thoughts filled with Zhou Jun, he still controlled himself and saved these thoughts for later so he could focus on what was in front of him right now. Strangely enough he was not feeling any discomfort, fear or any type of panic even though he was not in his regular world.

“Maybe this is also because of the system.”

Chu Feng looked around but he couldn’t see too far as there were many people surrounding him. They were still sleeping so not a single person would hear him even if he were to shout out loud. When he turned his head to the right side, he could finally see Yan Lan, Yan Yanran, Mu Rong and her friends lying there with their eyes closed while near them there was an orb of light which was most likely the orb where Jiang Simei who had turned into baby slept in. He couldn't see anything from the outside of the orb but he knew everything would be fine as he trusted Zhou Jun very much. He let out a sigh of relief as he was still together with them so he didn’t have to worry about looking for them anymore.

He continued to stare at the sky as he didn’t know when he would be able to get up. As for others, they were not going to wake up for nearly a week so he didn't try to wake them up.

“This world is really similar to the Earth. Sky, sun, trees and everything else nearly looks the same as it was on Earth.” Then he noticed that nearly 500 meters away surrounding them was something shining that was covering the area like barrier. “It seems like this is the barrier protecting sleeping people from outside things. I guess only part of the barrier above us is invisible letting me look at sky.”

Few minutes passed but Chu Feng was still not able to move so he decided to check if his system was still the same as it used to be on Earth. He thought of status in his mind and immediately same system window popped in front of him just with some extra stats added in it.

“I guess Yu Yan and I still have joint status. And she even has same age and race as me just like Jun'er said. Wow, so many stats! Even though I knew status will change but I never thought it would become like some kind of RPG . I am somewhat at loss on what to do now. I wish Yu Yan was awake to tell me about this but I guess I will have to figure out everything by myself. It's still good that I know meaning of these stats. But why do I have so many available stat points?” Chu Feng looked at his status in confusion. He relied too much on Yu Yan to handle system so now he was really missing her now and he didn't even have anyone talk to as he was the only person awake right now.

“Answer: You get 10 points per level so you got 20 points. You still have ‘First Level 1’ title so you get 5 points from that. You have soul-bound partners so you get 50% points of the stat points they earn through levelling, in this case, 5.” Suddenly new monotonous voice resounded in Chu Feng’s mind. He was kind of familiar with this woman’s voice but it was not the voice of the person he was familiar with. Most importantly, he immediately started to worry as this voice should’ve been Yu Yan’s but now it was some stranger’s voice which sounded familiar to him.

“Who are you? Why are you answering instead of Yu Yan? Where is Yu Yan? Is she okay?” Chu Feng asked as he was extremely worried about Yu Yan.

“Answer: I am system. Yu Yan is sleeping inside you spiritual space. She is not connected to system anymore. I am new system assistant.” Once again he got reply from same monotonous voice. This time was the same for him as he felt that this voice was extremely familiar. Chu Feng stayed silent for a while then he finally decided to ask.

“Is it you Jun’er? It’s you, right? No, it's not the way you talk. Who are you?” His voice was filled with hope, love, and sadness but also a bit shaking as if he was afraid to get negative answer. And as his mind was thinking of all those possibilities he got the answer that he didn’t want to listen to.

“Answer: I am not Zhou Jun.”

“Then who are you? Why do you have same voice as her?”

“Answer: It doesn’t concern you. I will help you get up, if you want to explore nearby before everyone wakes up then go on. If not then do not disturb me.” This time voice was a bit angry but it was not too much of a concern for him right now.

Chu Feng went silent after hearing this reply from her. He even started thinking why was he always getting rude assistant. He wanted to push her for an answer but he knew he was too weak to do anything about Zhou Jun’s matter as he is at this moment so he put it aside for now and got up from the ground and walked forward till he finally reached the barrier.

" I will first explore the village first." He was still feeling a bit nervous but excitement was much revealing in his eyes as it was still like a dream to him.

"Don't you want check system's new features and abilities first? If you have any questions you can ask it as long as it is not a stupid question." System assistant asked him as he had only checked his status once and ignored everything else from the system.

“Now that I am here, I will check nearby village first it should be close for our convenience as everyone is still very weak and I also have you who knows everything about the system with me so I can always ask for help. By the way, Can I come back inside the barrier after going out?” Chu Feng as he tried touching barrier with hand which surprisingly felt like holding hand in the ray of sunlight.

“Answer: Yes, you are not restricted by barrier because of the system. Other's can't come back after going outside.”

“I am really nervous to go outside. But I am also excited.” Chu Feng kept talking as he was always used to having silly conversations with Yu Yan in the past but unfortunately new system assistant was not too friendly with him. He didn’t even receive a reply from her.

“You can at least talk to me right? And what should I call you from now on? Shall I give you a name?” Chu Feng once again tried to hold conversation with her as he wanted to get friendlier with her to know about Zhou Jun’s and her relation.

“Answer: Talk to me only if necessary. I have a name and I will tell you when I want to.” She replied rudely with her monotonous voice.

Chu Feng didn’t know why she was not talking to him nicely but he didn’t mind this way of speaking as Yu Yan was also the same type when she first met him and Chu Feng also felt that this woman who was his system assistant might really be someone familiar or connected to him and Zhou Jun in some ways.

“Fine. Let’s go outside now.” Chu Feng passed through barrier and appeared on the outside. He looked around the barren plain while feeling fresh air going in and out through his nose. He felt extremely refreshing as he could feel his body soaking in some special energy from the air which brought mild pleasure to his body. He could see mountains far away from the plains he was in right now, which were monstrously big with their peaks pierced through clouds and were nearly invisible to the eyes. He could see few animals far away but they were not coming close, maybe because of the barrier.

“Is this a dream? A New world? This is like some anime scene. It is like a dream. Hey! Is this really not a dream?” Chu Feng asked as he was completely mesmerized by this magical feeling.

“It’s not… a dream.” Unlike before, this time this rude system assistant replied in soft voice as if she was trying to remember something lost from her memories. Chu Feng slightly noticed this but he was too caught up in this moment to comment on it. After looking at the scene for few minutes Chu Feng opened his status to add his stat points in order to not die the moment he arrived in this magical world.

“Hey! Add 4 points to Vitality, 6 points to strength, 2 points to agility, and 4 points to Dexterity and lastly, 6 points to Defense. Let’s leave Intelligence as it is for now, I don’t know how to use magic yet.” Chu Feng said as he took out long knives that he still somehow had in his inventory from the Earth as he started walking towards the nearby village that he could see from outside the barrier.

“Do it yourself.”

“You stopped adding answer in front of your every sentence already? Well whatever, can you please do it this time? I will do it from the next time.” Chu Feng said as he knew if he talked and teased her like how he used to do to Yu Yan then maybe he would have to do everything alone from the next time so he requested her this time before he headed on his way to the town once again without waiting for her reply which made her unwillingly do what he had told her to.
