An Unexpected Encounter

It's already been several hours since Lin xiao has entered the forest with no idea in which direction he has to go. As the situation for him is already worse than he has ever imagined. All he can see are big trees and weird plants everywhere with no idea if they are edible or not.

"What should I do? I can't go out of the forest or I will get killed by them but if I stay here I will become some beast's dinner, even if I be able find a place to hide; I will die out of hunger", Lin xiao said hopelessly. "Grrrr.....grrrr......", a roar of some beast. "What was that? It came from nearby, I have to hurry and hide somewhere", he said while trembling in fear. He started running in the opposite direction of where the roar came from. After 15 minutes of continuous running, he stopped for taking a heavy breath.

"I can hear the sound of a waterfall somewhere, maybe I will find water if I follow the sound", he said and started walking towards the direction of the sound. "Here it is, a waterfall at least I can drink some water here", Lin xiao said while moving towards this waterfall.

As he was drinking water he saw something moving behind the waterfall. "What was that thing? By its shape, it looks like a human being but according to me people doesn't enter in Demon Beast Forest", he said while moving near the waterfall. "It's a cave and amazingly it is behind the waterfall; beast won't be able to find me if I hide here and I think so, that person who entered before me was seeking shelter too in the cave; maybe we can help each other", Lin xiao said while entering the cave.

As he entered the cave he saw the fresh blood trails. "The person who entered the cave before me seems to be heavily injured", Lin xiao said and started following the blood trails.

~After walking for some minutes

"It's an old man. What is he doing here while heavily injured like this? He seems to be resting by taking the support of the cave's wall", Lin xiao said while moving towards the injured old man.

The old man opened his eyes.....

" Who are you? and what are doing here in this forest, kid?", said the old man while staring at Lin xiao suspiciously. "This old man doesn't seem to be someone I should offend", Lin xiao thought and replied, "I am Lin xiao, a member of Xiao branch clan and I live at the border of the Mizu region". "May I ask you something elder", Lin xiao questioned courteously. "Yes sure", the old man replied. "Who are you, sir?", Lin xiao asked. "I can't answer that question now, but what are you doing in this forest with no cultivation", the old man said calmly. "To be honest, I ran here to save myself from being killed by two clan members; I don't know who they were as they have covered their faces, but they wanted to kill me because of my poor talent in martial arts", Lin xiao said with desperation on his face. "We don't know each but I think it was fated that we met each", the old man while looking at lin xiao. "Why you say so elder?", Lin xiao asked in confusion.

"I never thought that this day would ever come like 300years I am stuck on stage 9 of the Martial Saint Realm and now my life span is about to end and there are peoples who want my cultivation manuals by killing me as I am getting weaker now", the old man said to Lin xiao.

"Because we met by fate and if these cultivation manuals which are with me goes into the wrong hand then it will bring a great calamity, but you know what that's the second reason to make you my disciple", the old man said in a convincing way. Those eyes filled up with so much hatred, the desperation to gain the power to protect their loved ones", the old man said with his eyes slightly filled up with tears.

By seeing the tears in the old man eyes and by realizing that the man in front of Lin xiao has suffered much more and also had lost his loved ones; Lin xiao lost his words

"I want to be powerful, and want to protect those who are important to me; please be my master and accept me as your disciple", Lin xiao said while bowing to him to show respect.

"Now, get up. Forget about the ceremony, now let me check your meridians as I don't have many days left", said the old man while holding Lin xiao's left hand.

"What I have to do, master?", Lin xiao asked. "I am going to transfer a bit of Qi into your left hand, you have to circulate it through your meridians and have to transfer it back to my hand from your right hand", the old man instructed Lin xiao.
