Sweet Demon

Sweet Demon

Chapter One - A Demon Girl

Once upon a time, there lived a demon girl who looked almost human. She had long, dark hair that shimmered blue under moonlight, skin pale like rice, and eyes glowing faintly red. She was so beautiful that she could slip into any crowd unnoticed, yet strange enough that people felt a chill when she passed by.

But she carried a secret curse she loved blood. Its warmth, its taste, the way it filled her with life. She wasn’t cruel never killed, never left scars. Just a whisper of a bite, a moment of weakness for her prey, and she was gone. For years she lived like this, stealing from the world but never belonged to it.

One night, while wandering the park under a sky full of stars, she saw a boy sitting alone on a wooden bench. He was looking upward, as if waiting for answers that would never come. His shoulders shivered with quiet sorrow, his hands shake restlessly. Something about him drew her in. Perhaps it was his loneliness she understood that feeling too well.

She approached him silently, shadows wrapping around her like a cloak. Just one taste, she told herself. He wouldn’t even know. She leaned closer, her lips nearly brushing his skin.

But before she could bite, the boy spoke without looking at her.

"You’re trembling. Are you cold?"

She froze. No human had ever noticed her before. But then, he removed off his jacket and wrapped it gently over her shoulders. The simple warmth of the fabric stunned her more than any blood ever had.

She whispered a thank you, though her voice was barely audible, and sat beside him instead of fleeing. That night, for the first time, she did not feed.

Night after night, she returned to the boy. Sometimes he would bring her small things an extra cup of tea, a book he thought she might like, a flower plucked from the roadside. They talked under the stars until dawn threatened to pull them apart. She told him little pieces of herself, though never the whole truth. He told her of his loneliness, his dreams, and his quiet wish to not be invisible in the world.

And slowly, the hunger inside her began to change. She still craved blood, yes but when she looked at him, her chest ached for something far sweeter.

One evening, when the air was heavy with the scent of rain, she couldn’t hold her secret anymore. Her voice shook as she confessed

I… I am not like you. I am a demon. I’ve lived in the shadows, feeding on strangers’ blood. That night we met, I wanted yours. But then… you gave me kindness. You made me feel seen. And now, I don’t want your blood I want your heart.

Silence fell. She couldn’t meet his eyes. She expected fear, rejection, maybe even hatred. But instead, his hand reached for hers, warm and steady.

I think I knew all along, he said softly. But it doesn’t matter. If you’re a demon, then let me be the one you don’t hide from. Don’t hunger for my blood hunger for me.

Her crimson eyes filled with tears. She had never wept before not in hunger, not in loneliness. But in that moment, love broke her wide open. She leaned into him, trembling, and for the first time in her existence, she felt full not from feeding, but from being loved.

From then on, she no longer haunted the streets at night. Her hunger never fully left her, but the boy’s love became stronger than any craving. Where once she had been a shadow, now she walked in the light of his smile.

And every time the stars shone above them, she thought I once lived only for blood. But now, I live for him.
