Sweet Demon

Chapter One - A Demon Girl

Once upon a time, there lived a demon girl who looked almost human. She had long, dark hair that shimmered blue under moonlight, skin pale like rice, and eyes glowing faintly red. She was so beautiful that she could slip into any crowd unnoticed, yet strange enough that people felt a chill when she passed by.

But she carried a secret curse she loved blood. Its warmth, its taste, the way it filled her with life. She wasn’t cruel never killed, never left scars. Just a whisper of a bite, a moment of weakness for her prey, and she was gone. For years she lived like this, stealing from the world but never belonged to it.

One night, while wandering the park under a sky full of stars, she saw a boy sitting alone on a wooden bench. He was looking upward, as if waiting for answers that would never come. His shoulders shivered with quiet sorrow, his hands shake restlessly. Something about him drew her in. Perhaps it was his loneliness she understood that feeling too well.

She approached him silently, shadows wrapping around her like a cloak. Just one taste, she told herself. He wouldn’t even know. She leaned closer, her lips nearly brushing his skin.

But before she could bite, the boy spoke without looking at her.

"You’re trembling. Are you cold?"

She froze. No human had ever noticed her before. But then, he removed off his jacket and wrapped it gently over her shoulders. The simple warmth of the fabric stunned her more than any blood ever had.

She whispered a thank you, though her voice was barely audible, and sat beside him instead of fleeing. That night, for the first time, she did not feed.

Night after night, she returned to the boy. Sometimes he would bring her small things an extra cup of tea, a book he thought she might like, a flower plucked from the roadside. They talked under the stars until dawn threatened to pull them apart. She told him little pieces of herself, though never the whole truth. He told her of his loneliness, his dreams, and his quiet wish to not be invisible in the world.

And slowly, the hunger inside her began to change. She still craved blood, yes but when she looked at him, her chest ached for something far sweeter.

One evening, when the air was heavy with the scent of rain, she couldn’t hold her secret anymore. Her voice shook as she confessed

I… I am not like you. I am a demon. I’ve lived in the shadows, feeding on strangers’ blood. That night we met, I wanted yours. But then… you gave me kindness. You made me feel seen. And now, I don’t want your blood I want your heart.

Silence fell. She couldn’t meet his eyes. She expected fear, rejection, maybe even hatred. But instead, his hand reached for hers, warm and steady.

I think I knew all along, he said softly. But it doesn’t matter. If you’re a demon, then let me be the one you don’t hide from. Don’t hunger for my blood hunger for me.

Her crimson eyes filled with tears. She had never wept before not in hunger, not in loneliness. But in that moment, love broke her wide open. She leaned into him, trembling, and for the first time in her existence, she felt full not from feeding, but from being loved.

From then on, she no longer haunted the streets at night. Her hunger never fully left her, but the boy’s love became stronger than any craving. Where once she had been a shadow, now she walked in the light of his smile.

And every time the stars shone above them, she thought I once lived only for blood. But now, I live for him.

Chapter Two – The Past She Hid

The night was calm, the stars scattered like silver dust across the sky. The boy and the demon girl sat together on the same wooden bench where they first met. For a while, neither spoke. The boy kept glancing at her, as though there was something he longed to ask but was afraid it might hurt her.

Finally, he whispered "Can I ask you something?"

Her crimson eyes flickered toward him. "What is it?"

"You told me what you are" he said softly, but… how did it happen? Were you always a demon?

The girl’s lips opened, then closed again. She had never spoken of that night, not to anyone. But the way his hand rested gently over hers gave her courage. She lowered her head, her voice trembling.

"No" she said. "I was human once."

The boy waited, patient and quiet.

She drew in a shaky breath. "It was many years ago. I was just a little girl then. My parents… they loved me so much. I remember my mother’s laugh, my father’s strong hands when he held mine. That day, we were driving somewhere. I don’t even remember where anymore maybe to visit relatives, maybe just for a trip. The road was empty, the sun was bright… and then, everything changed."

Her voice grew heavier, her eyes wide open.

"A shadow appeared on the road. My father tried to stop the car, but it was too late. The vehicle screwed, crashed, and rolled down a slope. I remember the glass shattering, my mother’s scream, the weight of metal crushing down. When I opened my eyes, I was covered in blood. My parents… they weren’t moving anymore."

Tears shimmered in her red eyes. The boy squeezed her hand, silently urging her to go on.

"I thought it was the end. But then, I saw him a figure standing in the smoke. A demon. He had caused the accident. His eyes burned like fire. He looked at me… and he smiled."

Her voice shook as memories she saw their way back.

"He said I was lucky. That he could give me a new life. I didn’t understand, I only cried for my parents. But he didn’t care. He bit me his blood mixed with mine. My body burned, my soul twisted. When I woke again, I wasn’t human anymore. I was like him. A demon."

The boy’s chest ached as he listened. He could almost see the frightened little girl she had been, trapped in darkness she never chose.

"For years," she whispered, I hated myself. I hated what I had become. I wandered alone, feeding just enough to survive. I told myself love wasn’t for monsters like me. That all I could ever do was hide.”

Her eyes finally met his, filled with sorrow and hope.

"And then I met you."

The boy reached up, gently wiping a tear from her cheek. "You didn’t choose this life," he said firmly. But you still chose kindness. That makes you more human than anyone I’ve ever known.

For a long moment, she only stared at him, her heart aching in ways words couldn’t describe. Then, for the first time since that cursed night long ago, she felt lighter as though sharing her pain had finally broken the chains of her past.

Under the starlit sky, the demon girl leaned against the boy’s shoulder, and for once, she allowed herself to believe in tomorrow.

Chapter Three - The First Hunger

The boy held her hand gently, listening to every word. The demon girl lowered her eyes, her voice soft as she continued her story.

After the accident, I had nowhere to go. But my uncle, my mother’s brother took me in. He was kind. He didn’t know what had really happened, didn’t know that I wasn’t the same anymore. To him, I was just a little girl who had lost her parents.

He gave me a home. He told me I should continue my studies, live as normally as I could. I went to school, tried to smile, tried to act like everyone else. But inside… I was different. I could feel it. Something dark lived inside me, waiting."

She paused, her hands trembling in his.

"For some time, nothing happened. I studied, I played, I grew older. My uncle thought I was healing. He never guessed the truth. But then, one night, it began."

I was lying in bed, and suddenly, I felt it. A hunger so sharp, so deep, it made my whole body shake. It wasn’t hunger for food. It was hunger for blood. I tried to resist. I bit my hand, I cried into my pillow. But the craving only grew stronger.

Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. I went to the kitchen in the dark, shaking and desperate. That’s when I saw it a small mouse, running across the floor. I don’t know how it happened. My mind went blank. I grabbed it… and then I drank.

When I came back to my senses, I was sitting on the kitchen floor, my clothes stained red, my hands covered in blood. The mouse lay lifeless beside me. I stared at myself, horrified. That wasn’t me. That wasn’t who I wanted to be. But it was too late I had tasted blood.

The boy’s eyes softened with pain, but he didn’t speak. He knew she needed to finish.

Her voice trembled as she went on.

I panicked. I washed my hands again and again, but the smell wouldn’t go away. I scrubbed at my clothes until my skin burned. Still, I felt unclean, cursed. I locked myself inside my room and refused to come out.

For days, I stayed hidden. My uncle knocked on the door, calling my name. He thought I was sick. He brought food and left it outside. But I didn’t answer. I couldn’t look him in the eyes, not after what I had done.

I hated myself. I felt guilty, ashamed, like I was turning into a monster with every breath I took. I didn’t want anyone to see me like that. I didn’t want my uncle to know the truth. So I stayed in the darkness, punishing myself.

Her shoulders trembled as she whispered, “I was only a child… and already I was drowning in guilt.

The boy squeezed her hand, his voice steady but tender. "You were not a monster. You were scared. You didn’t choose that hunger it chose you. But even then, you still felt guilty, you still cared. That means your heart was human, even if your blood was not."

For a long moment, silence wrapped around them. Then she rested her head against his shoulder, feeling his warmth chase away the chill of her memories.

For the first time in years, she was no longer telling her story to herself. She was sharing it with someone who truly saw her.
