[Scene Three –Dr. Anurak Kitprasit ’s Apartment | 4:12 AM | Sukhumvit, Bangkok]
The automatic lock clicks shut behind him. Anurak steps inside, shoulders stiff. The sterile brightness of the hospital is gone—replaced by the cold silence of an apartment that’s more architectural showcase than home.
Everything is in order, as always: spotless glass shelves, neatly folded suits, few life less wall hangings, muted paintings that speak nothing of warmth. No family photos. No pet. No mess. Just space… and emptiness.
[Anurak / Ergon]
(Muttering as he tosses his keys on the counter)
"Voices, visions, bleeding lungs. And now cryptic countdowns. Brilliant."
(He sighs and rubs his face, exhausted. The warning Jiang whispered echoes in the back of his mind.)
"Don't stay apart from me tonight, If you can just stay here in Hospital ..."
He ignores it. Walks deeper into the silence.
The apartment feels… heavier tonight. As if the walls are holding their breath.
He unbuttons his cuff, steps into the bedroom, and suddenly—
—his foot freezes mid-step.
A faint light glows from the far corner shelf. Soft, green. Pulsing.
[Anurak] (Frowning)
"...What the hell..."
He walks closer, heart suddenly a little too loud. Nestled between two untouched books sits a small box, inside a stone pendant— wrapped in string once tied by a street boy in Chiang Rai years ago.
“You’re the only kind stranger I’ve met, Phi. So take this. It keeps away the ‘gray ones.’”
It hadn’t glowed before. It hadn’t moved in years. He almost forgot about its existence. Somehow this seems familiar as if he has seen this before.
The closer he gets, the louder the quiet becomes.
And then… his fingertips brush the surface.
—WHOOSH—
*The room stills instantly. The air shifts. That dreadful pressure, the invisible stare that had followed him in—gone.
Everything is silent again.
[Anurak] (Staring at the stone)
"What the hell is happening tonight..."
—BZZZZT!—
His phone buzzes violently against the counter. He snaps out of the trance, rushes to it.
[Caller ID: Siriraj Hospital - Emergency Ward]
[Anurak] (Answers instantly)
"Dr. Anurak."
[Nurse’s Voice – trembling slightly]
“Sir… it’s Jiang Zeyan.”
Anurak’s spine stiffens.
[Anurak] "What happened?"
[Nurse] “He flatlined for twenty-six seconds.”
A pause.
“But then… he came back.”
[Anurak] (Freezes)
"...What?"
[Nurse] “He opened his eyes, sir. Just for a second. And he said your name.”
A strange chill settles over Anurak's skin.
He looks down at the glowing stone in his hand. It’s turned dull again. Just a rock.
But the warning lingers.
The stone, the silence, the moment the air shifted—
Jiang wasn’t wrong.
Something was coming.
Something was here.
But still he is not convinced.
[Anurak] (To himself, jaw clenched)
"You better still be breathing when I get there, Jiang Zeyan..."
He grabs his coat, keys, and rushes to the door—
—but just before it shuts, the lights flicker.
And the mirror by the hallway?
It shows a faint shadow standing beside where Anurak had just been.
But no one is there.
