The Shadows at Construction Site [1]

[Scene One – Bangkok | Abandoned Construction Site | Late Evening | Thunderstorm in Distance]

The air was thick with dust and smoke. Police tape fluttered around the metal skeleton of what was meant to be a luxury hotel. The construction site was now a graveyard—twelve workers dead, three critically injured, and no logical explanation for the massive structural collapse.

Sirens wailed distantly. Rain hadn’t started, but the clouds above threatened to spill. Flashlights flickered through the debris as paramedics rushed through twisted metal. Among the chaos, a tall figure in a pristine white coat walked with practiced ease, his sharp jaw clenched, eyes cold but focused. Dr. Anurak—was here.

---

[Dr. Anurak] (Turning to a junior doctor beside him)

"Focus on the head trauma cases first. If their pupils dilate again, intubate. This isn't a place for panic."

His eyes skim the mess—until they land on someone unusual. A man in a long black coat standing unnaturally still near the collapsed central column, untouched by the chaos. Slim, delicate in frame, yet the aura around him is... off.

The man looked exhausted, pale, and far too calm. He clutched something—a black-gloved hand shaking slightly.

Anurak narrowed his eyes.

---

[Jiang Zeyan] (Voice soft, with a haunting calmness)

"Don’t go near that spot. The ground hasn’t finished speaking yet."

He didn’t look at Anurak—he was staring at the concrete, eyes glazed like he saw something… beyond.

---

[Anurak] (Approaches slowly, authoritative but skeptical)

"You’re the one they called? The so-called Chinese paranormal psychologist?"

(He crosses his arms, scoffing lightly.)

"I deal with hemorrhaging hearts, not haunted scaffolding. Twelve people are dead. If this is a joke, I don’t have time for mystics and ghosts."

---

[Jiang Zeyan] (Finally turns to face him. His eyes—deep, dark, with a tragic shine—lock onto Anurak’s. Something cold and invisible slides through the air.)

"Believe what you want, Doctor Anurak. But tell your men not to remove the body trapped beneath the central beam. If you move it now, three more will die before sunrise."

---

Anurak stiffens. How could he have known? No one else noticed that body yet—not even him.

---

[Anurak] (Steps closer, frowning.)

"And how exactly do you know that?"

---

[Jiang Zeyan] (With a broken smile)

"Because I just saw it. And now my lungs feel like they're bleeding."

He falters, leaning on the metal railing for support. His hand grazes Anurak's coat sleeve by accident.

---

Suddenly, pain flashes through Jiang Zeyan’s spine like lightning. Vision whites out. He sees flashes—screams—blood dripping from a hospital ceiling—a name tag covered in soot—Anurak’s hands covered in red—his own reflection in a morgue drawer.

He gasps and jerks back, coughing violently.

---

[Anurak] (Catches him instinctively, eyes wide)

"Hey—! Are you okay? What the hell just happened?"

---

[Jiang Zeyan] (Eyes wide with horror, voice trembling)

"You’re next... if you don’t listen."

Their eyes meet—tense, electric, inexplicably drawn to one another.
