Chapter 3: Beneath the Silence~
On a lonely road, a black car sped forward, slicing through the stillness of the day. Behind it, several cars followed, keeping a close distance. Inside the lead car, a heavy silence lingered. One man sat still, cloaked in a cold, dark aura. The other man gripped the wheel tightly, silently praying they would reach their destination soon.
Finally, the car reached a remote, eerie location—silent, lifeless, and forgotten. This was the place where Song Mi-hee had fallen to her death.
The man said, releasing the breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.
A low hum came from the person in the back seat. Cold. Emotionless.
The man quickly stepped out, hurrying to open the door for his boss—but the person had already pushed it open himself, like he couldn’t stand to stay inside a second longer.
The man—aka the CEO—stepped out of the car and looked coldly at the place with his dark, piercing eyes. The area was sealed off with barriers, clearly showing that no one was allowed to enter. A normal person wouldn’t even dare to set foot here, nor would they be permitted to—but he could, and he would. He would, to save an innocent person.
He began walking toward the spot where everything had happened, fully aware that he couldn’t afford to waste even a second. His bodyguards followed closely behind.
CEO
“Start searching the entire area. Don’t leave a single corner unchecked.”
He commanded coldly, a clear warning in his tone—if they slacked off or missed even the smallest detail, the consequences wouldn’t be good.
Came the unified, firm response from his bodyguards.
After giving the order and making sure they were doing their job properly, the CEO began walking toward the edge of the cliff. He stared into the hollow depth below, scanning every part of the cliff's edge with sharp, focused gazes.
CEO
“Did they recover the body?”
He asked, not looking away from the dark drop.
The man replied cautiously.
?
“Her body has been sent for postmortem.”
The CEO’s voice was firm, his questions coming one after another.
CEO
“Where does this forest end? Where did they find her body? Is there any village or human settlement nearby?”
The man swallowed and answered quickly.
?
“There’s a dense forest beyond this point. Her body was found deep inside. There’s no sign of human life near the area. But if you walk far enough, there’s a village... a tribe lives there. They have no connection to the outside world—they live in isolation and don’t allow anyone to enter their land.”
The man reported, sharing all the information he had gathered.
The CEO nodded slightly, processing the information.
CEO
“Any CCTV cameras around?”
?
“No, Boss. This is an abandoned place. No cameras.”
The CEO finally turned away from the cliff, eyes cold as ice.
CEO
“Send Team Fox to search the forest where her body was found. Every inch—rivers, mud, trees, caves. Everything must be checked. No mistakes.”
The man replied, already pulling out his phone.
What is Team Fox? Team Fox is a group known for their sharp thinking, cleverness, and keen senses. The team consists of eight people. They are intelligent, strategic, and extremely observant—and why wouldn’t they be? Their leader is the CEO himself. He’s the one who trained them and shaped them into the sharp, strategic, and highly observant team they are today. They are called Team Fox because foxes are known for their cleverness, cunning nature, and heightened senses.
The man moved a few steps away to call Team Fox and deliver the order.
Meanwhile, the CEO’s eyes fixed on a specific spot—something subtle, something others had missed. But not him.
?
“Boss, Team Fox is on their way.”
The CEO gave a faint hum.
CEO
“What about the bail?”
The man hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. This was the one question he had hoped his boss wouldn’t ask.
?
“Boss... Kim Taehyung’s bail has been rejected.”
The CEO’s gaze sharpened.
The man answered carefully.
?
“The court denied it... because of JK’s statement. He’s the main witness. He claimed he saw Mr. Kim pushing and shooting Song Mi-hee.”
A fire lit in the CEO’s eyes. His fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
CEO
“That foolish Jeon...”
He growled between gritted teeth.
Pulling out his phone, the CEO made a call. The person on the other end picked up after three rings.
Boy
📱“Wah! What did I do to get a call from the great CEO himself?”
Came a playful, amused voice. It wasn’t mockery, just surprise.
CEO
📱“I’m not in the mood for jokes.”
Park Jimin
📱“Whoa, whoa. Calm down, Mr. CEO.”
Jimin replied, still amused.
Park Jimin
📱“What’s wrong? I know you’re not calling for small talk. You didn’t even use my business line.”
CEO
📱“How long does it take to get someone out on bail in a murder case?”
CEO
📱“There’s a witness who claims he saw the murder.”
Jimin’s voice turned serious.
Park Jimin
📱“You know as well as I do—you’re trying to hold water in your hands. If there’s an eyewitness and murder charges involved, bail is almost impossible before the hearing.”
The CEO already knew that. But he was desperate.
CEO
📱“I know... but is there really no way to get him out? Any way at all?”
His voice held a rare urgency that Jimin didn’t miss.
Park Jimin
📱“Who is it, Mr. CEO?”
Jimin asked after a short pause.
The CEO went quiet. Then said softly,
Park Jimin
📱“The same Taehyung you...”
After a long silence, Jimin finally said,
Park Jimin
📱“There might be a way. But only after 24 hours.”
The CEO was about to speak, but Jimin cut him off.
Park Jimin
📱“Don’t ask me how. And send me all the information about Taehyung. I need to know everything.”
Jungkook said, then ended the call and put his phone away.
CEO
“Send all the information to Jimin. Everything. And make sure Taehyung is treated well. He shouldn’t face any discomfort in there.”
Choi San
?/San:
“Yes, Boss.”
