Ruhani Sharma (23) – A razor-sharp criminal lawyer, fiery, sarcastic, beautiful in an effortlessly intimidating way. She believes in logic, hates drama, and does not believe in fairy tales. She lives with her upper-middle-class family in Jaipur, in a house buzzing with love, chaos, and the occasional dose of sarcasm.
[Morning – Sharma Residence]
Sunlight poured into the pastel-themed bedroom, slicing through the cream curtains, spilling over scattered law books and empty coffee mugs. The alarm clock had been blaring for the past thirty minutes, hopelessly ignored.
Alarm clock: Beeep. Beep. Beeeeeeep.

(enters the room, hands on her hips, glaring at her daughter like she’s plotting a murder)
"Ruhani! For God’s sake, wake up! The sun is up, the milkman is gone, and your chai is turning into ice!"

(pulls a pillow over her face, her voice muffled)
"Tell the sun I didn’t invite him. And I’m boycotting chai today."

(snatches the pillow and yanks the blanket off)
"You'll boycott your brains next if you keep pulling these late nights. Get up, lazy pig!"

[15 minutes later – Dining Room]
*Ruhani walks in with damp hair, dressed in her loose white kurta and black leggings, tossing her wet strands over her shoulder like a shampoo ad rebel.*

*With her ever-fake sugar voice,
eyeing Ruhani head to toe*
"Oh good, the lawyer has finally blessed us with her presence. All rise, courtroom queen has arrived."

*Sipping her juice with exaggerated elegance*
"I thought successful people wake up at 5 a.m., not after their alarm gives up and dies

*dryly, biting into a toast*
"And I thought jealous people minded their own business. Guess we both overestimated intelligence this morning."

*he clears his throat and with a serious tone*
"Ruhani. We got a call from Malhotra ji this morning."

"Okay? Congratulations to him?"

“Devansh wapas aa gaya hai New York se. Malhotra ji ka phone aaya tha kal raat.”
(Devansh has returned from New York. Mr. Malhotra called last night.)

“Kya?! Devansh Malhotra? Woh ladka jise maine 14 saal ki age mein do baar dekha tha?”
(What?! Devansh Malhotra? The guy I saw twice when I was 14?)

“Wohi jo abroad mein padhke classy ban gaya hai? Wow, lucky you, didi.”
(The same guy who became classy studying abroad? Wow, lucky you, sis.) smirking😏

*he said Firmly*
“Ruhani, rishta fix kar diya hai. Tum dono miloge... aur shayad shaadi bhi hogi.”
(Ruhani, we’ve fixed the alliance. You both will meet... and maybe get married.)

Kya....aapne mera rishta bhi pakka kar diya...bina mujhe puche...papa aapko pata hai na ki mei abhi shaadi ni karna chahti...aur abhi mujhe apna career banana hai....to mei shaadi kar lu..

Just then, the front gate creaked. A scooter horn beeped twice.

"Did I miss another Sharma family courtroom drama?"

"Apparently, I’m getting married to a stranger I bit when I was 14, because promises last longer than logic here."

"Oh hell no. Is this an arranged-marriage ambush? Ruhani, blink twice if you’re being emotionally blackmailed."

"She’s blinking too much. It’s not a hostage situation, Dia."

*leans back in her chair, dramatically staring at the ceiling*
"This can’t be my life. This has to be someone else’s twisted Netflix series."
Ruhani had stormed upstairs with Dia trailing behind her like a loyal wingwoman, both flopped on the bed like two wounded soldiers after war.
