A DISAPPOINTMENT IN DISGUISE

I was reading an ongoing omegaverse story. [My Bulky Omega by summer ]

I thought it would be a cute ..normal type where the ML likes the Strong omega who has physical strength like Alpha. But I was sooo wrongggg...

The MC (an omega) has an elder brother (an alpha) and a younger brother (also an omega).

The elder brother mates with the ML's omega brother — and yes, the ML’s brother gave his consent.

But the ML?? He drugs the MC and rapes him as revenge.

Years later, the MC gives birth to a child named Bubbles. They eventually find the ML again, and the MC decides to marry the ML for the child’s sake.

You know what’s the most mind-boiling part?

That rotting slice of cheese with parasites — the ML’s brother — doesn’t even do anything to the rapist.

And the MC’s own elder brother? NOTHING. No reaction. No rage.

Instead, the ML’s brother warmly welcomes the guy who raped his sibling’s mate as if nothing ever happened.

What the actual f—?!

The ML shows zero regret. None.

In fact, he’s got his disgusting eyes on the MC’s younger omega brother now.

During his heat, he almost forces the younger brother — and STILL no one punches him in the face.

And don’t even get me started on that little piece of betrayal named Bubbles.

The kid literally calls someone else “Mama” just because his dad brought that person home.

I mean… what?!

Even as a child — if I were him, I wouldn’t call anyone else my parent no matter what.

MC went through hell carrying him, raising him — and this is the thanks he gets?

And the ML? STILL flirting with the MC’s brother. It’s absolutely disgusting.

If I could I would have given the ratings in negative but atleast the writing is good.

I just wonder..how could someone give that story a 5 star ?

The writing is okay — like, good but not awesome. Definitely not enough to make up for the toxic trash fire of a plot.

And you know what’s worse?

There was no proper trigger warning.

They just slapped a lazy “18+” on the description like that covers everything.

No warning for r*pe, drugging, manipulation, emotional abuse, or near-assault.

Let me be clear:

🔞 “18+” means sexual content.

🚨 It does not mean readers are okay with traumatic, non-consensual acts being brushed under the rug.

If you're going to write dark themes, OWN IT and WARN properly. Don’t spring it on readers like some twisted surprise.

Bonus comparison:

Funny thing is — at the same time, I was reading another story:

"My Wife Slaps People Online."

There, the ML (Jungkook) had unknowingly tortured the MC (Taehyung) years ago to get him to train soldiers.

But later, when they start dating and Jungkook finds out the truth?

He lets Taehyung take revenge on him.

He even goes through the same torture — and worse — because he wants to atone.

That, right there? Redemption. Respect. Responsibility.

NOT whatever that omegaverse trash heap is trying to romanticize.

...

Update – Ch 47: So the author decided to call out one of the people criticizing her story. Sure, that person was a bit aggressive, but they didn’t even use slurs. And the author’s big defense? “I didn’t justify rape, I’m not romanticizing it.” A few readers backed her up, chirping the same tired lines — “it’s just a story, why be mad? If you don’t like it, don’t read it.”

No. Just no. This isn’t about whether the story is “bad” or “good.” It’s about the fact that rape was written so lightly, so carelessly, that it’s genuinely concerning. And what’s worse? Seeing readers casually say it’s fine because it’s fiction. It’s not fine. You’re basically telling younger, impressionable readers that being with your rapist is okay if they apologize until their soul bleeds.

The “it’s just fiction” defense is a moldy excuse that needs to be thrown in the trash. Media shapes minds. When you treat rape like a spicy little plot twist and shove the victim into a romance arc, you are actively normalizing abuse. You’re grooming your audience into thinking it’s forgivable if the abuser cries hard enough.

If you can’t handle a topic this serious with the gravity it deserves, you shouldn’t be writing it at all. What you’re doing isn’t “art” — it’s romanticizing trauma for cheap drama points. And frankly? That’s pathetic.

Ms Color current ..u still haven't said what you understood from me long Para ..to make it easier I will add that para here so that if u decide to read this ..I really want to you out of all the things I did say..what did u understand?

"Although Samantha was aggressive, she didn’t start using slangs — that began with you, and she only clapped back. In that sense, you’re both at fault for calling each other names.

Secondly, I don’t think Samantha has used slangs toward anyone else besides you. And personally, I don’t think visiting a mental hospital should be seen as a bad thing — just like we go to a hospital for physical health, therapy and psychiatric care are for brain and mind health.

She’s also not wrong in saying that rape isn’t comparable to something like a slap on the arm — it’s far worse, and it’s inhumane. The issue we have with stories like this is that they can make young readers feel like rape isn’t a big deal. You can see many are supporting the author’s portrayal, and that’s worrying. Rape is never okay.

Both she and I, in anger, asked others why they felt this story was good. I can admit the writing is skilled, but the plot itself risks normalizing rape — which could lead younger readers to justify it. In reality, the only place for rapists is jail."
