Chapter 4: "Behind Closed Doors"

As Lilly walked into her house, she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. She had just left Alex at the coffee shop, and she couldn't wait to see him again.

But as she entered the living room, she was greeted by her parents' stern faces. Her brother, Max, was sitting on the couch, a smug look on his face.

"Lilly, we need to talk," her mom said, her voice firm.

Lilly's heart sank. She knew that her parents were not going to be happy about her spending time with Alex.

"What's up, mom?" she asked, trying to sound nonchalant.

"We know you were at the coffee shop with a boy today," her dad said, his brow furrowed. "Max saw you."

Lilly's eyes darted to her brother, who was trying to stifle a grin.

"Yeah, I was just studying with him," Lilly said, trying to downplay the situation.

But her parents were not buying it. "Lilly, we've talked about this before," her mom said. "We don't want you getting too close to boys right now. You need to focus on your studies."

Lilly felt a surge of frustration. Why couldn't her parents just trust her?

"I know you're worried, but Alex is a great guy," she said, trying to reassure them. "We're just getting to know each other."

But her parents were unmoved. "We'll talk about this later, Lilly," her dad said. "Right now, we just want you to be careful."

Lilly nodded, feeling a sense of relief. She knew that she still had a lot to learn about Alex, and she was determined to get to know him better even though her parents are against the idea.

She went into her room, took a shower and took out her books to start reading. But before she could start she saw that her phone was ringing. When she picked it, she saw that Alex was calling her. She was was curious on how he got her number but she remembered that they exchanged numbers when they wanted to start their project. When she answered the call Alex deep, husky voice was what greeted her . He only wanted to know if she got home safely. She then told him yes and thanked him for today. He chuckled and said he's willing to catch her and have her back all the time. When Lilly heard this her cheeks turned red and she didn't know what to say when Alex continued talking about their project. Thankfully he changed the topic and she felt less awkward. They chatted about school life and she got to know that Alex was not as bad as everyone talked about. While they were talking,her brother knocked saying it's dinner time.

All she could think of that night was how good Alex hands felt on her waist. She then made a note to herself to be more careful around Max.
