Chapter 4: A Night Out of a Fairy Tale

The atmosphere between Yoongi and Jimin had shifted over the weeks, growing into something neither fully understood but both felt deeply. Neither had spoken about it directly, but their connection lingered in their shared glances, the subtle touches, and the quiet moments of hesitation. Yoongi found himself unable to focus at work, replaying their interactions in his mind. Meanwhile, Jimin’s heart fluttered every time Yoongi walked into the café, his presence filling the room with an undeniable warmth.

It was Yoongi who decided to take the first step toward something more. The idea came to him during one of his sleepless nights, staring at the city lights through his office window. Jimin deserved something extraordinary, something magical, and Yoongi wanted to give it to him.

The next evening, Yoongi arrived at the café just as Jimin was ending his shift. He waited until Jimin approached, a tired but cheerful smile on his face.

“You’re here late,” Jimin remarked, setting down his apron.

“I needed to ask you something,” Yoongi replied, his tone unusually soft.

Jimin tilted his head. “What is it?”

“Would you let me take you out?” Yoongi’s voice was steady, but there was a vulnerability in his eyes that made Jimin pause. “Not to dinner, not to coffee. Somewhere... different.”

Jimin blinked, his lips parting slightly in surprise. “Different?”

Yoongi nodded. “I want to show you something. Tomorrow evening. If you’re free.”

There was something in Yoongi’s expression—a mixture of hope and determination—that made Jimin’s heart race. He smiled, nodding. “Okay. I’m free.”

The following evening, Yoongi arrived at Jimin’s apartment in a sleek black car. Jimin, dressed simply but elegantly, stepped out into the cool night air, his breath hitching when he saw Yoongi waiting for him. Yoongi’s tailored suit and polished demeanor made him look like he had walked straight out of a dream.

“You look beautiful,” Yoongi said, his voice low and sincere.

Jimin’s cheeks flushed. “You’re one to talk.”

Yoongi opened the car door for him, and they set off into the city. Jimin tried to guess where they were going, but Yoongi remained tight-lipped, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

Their destination turned out to be a private rooftop, adorned with soft lights that twinkled like stars. The view of the city was breathtaking, a sea of shimmering lights stretching out to the horizon. A small table was set up under a canopy, surrounded by delicate floral arrangements and lit candles.

“Yoongi...” Jimin’s voice was barely a whisper as he took it all in. “This is...”

“For you,” Yoongi finished, his eyes fixed on Jimin. “I wanted to give you a night to remember.”

Jimin turned to him, his eyes glistening. “You didn’t have to do all this.”

Yoongi stepped closer, his gaze softening. “I wanted to. Because you deserve it.”

After a meal filled with laughter and shared stories, soft music began to play. Yoongi stood, extending his hand toward Jimin. “Dance with me?”

Jimin hesitated, glancing around the empty rooftop. “Here?”

“Here,” Yoongi said, his lips curving into a small smile. “No one’s watching. Just us.”

Slowly, Jimin placed his hand in Yoongi’s, allowing himself to be guided to the center of the rooftop. Yoongi’s hand rested gently on Jimin’s waist as they began to sway to the music. The world around them seemed to fade, leaving only the rhythm of their movements and the sound of their breaths.

“I don’t think I’ve ever danced like this before,” Jimin admitted, his voice tinged with nervous laughter.

“Neither have I,” Yoongi replied, his eyes locked on Jimin’s. “But I’m glad it’s with you.”

Jimin’s breath hitched at the sincerity in Yoongi’s words. The moment felt surreal, like something out of a fairy tale.

When they finally stepped apart, Jimin’s cheeks were flushed, his eyes shining with emotion. “Yoongi, I...”

“You don’t have to say anything,” Yoongi said gently. “I just wanted you to know how much this means to me.”

Jimin smiled, his heart full to bursting. “Thank you. For tonight. For everything.”

As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s presence under the starlit sky, it felt like the beginning of something extraordinary. Something neither of them would ever forget.
