In Love’S Silence (Yoonmin)

Chapter 1: An Unlikely Encounter

Yoongi Min’s path to the top of the corporate ladder was as meticulously planned as the towering Min Co headquarters that now bore his name. Born into a family of privilege but chaos, Yoongi learned early that trust was a fragile commodity. His mother’s abrupt departure and his father’s philandering had left scars, but his grandmother’s unwavering support gave him the strength to rise above it all. She was the one who nurtured his intellect, encouraged his ambition, and guided him as he inherited the family’s IT empire. Yet, as he sat in his luxurious corner office, overseeing countless employees, he couldn’t shake the hollowness in his heart. Success had brought wealth, but not the warmth he craved.

Jimin Park’s life couldn’t have been more different. Orphaned at a young age, he had grown up in a small town where dreams were often crushed by reality. But Jimin was different. His natural brilliance and unrelenting drive earned him a scholarship to a prestigious university in Seoul, where he quickly gained recognition as a genius in the medical field. Professors marveled at his ability to diagnose complex cases, his hands steady and precise in labs and clinics. Yet, despite his accolades, Jimin’s life was far from easy. He balanced grueling studies with a part-time job at a quaint café to make ends meet. Beneath his cheerful demeanor lay a yearning for connection, a longing for a family he never had.

It was on a crisp autumn afternoon that their paths crossed. Yoongi, weighed down by thoughts of his ailing grandmother, decided to escape the suffocating confines of his office. The café’s warm ambiance offered a brief reprieve, and he found a seat by the window, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the crisp air. He was lost in thought, staring at the falling leaves outside, when a soft voice broke through his reverie.

“Here’s your coffee, sir.”

Yoongi looked up, and for a moment, the world seemed to still. Jimin stood before him, holding a tray with practiced ease. His eyes, a deep brown that seemed to hold a galaxy of emotions, met Yoongi’s. Time stretched, the air between them charged with an inexplicable energy. Yoongi’s gaze lingered a moment too long, and Jimin, feeling the intensity, offered a shy smile.

“Thank you,” Yoongi said, his voice low and measured. He took the cup, their fingers brushing briefly. The fleeting contact sent an unexpected warmth through both of them.

Jimin, slightly flustered, nodded and stepped back. “If you need anything else, just let me know.”

Yoongi watched him walk away, the soft click of his shoes against the floor grounding him. He hadn’t come here for anything but solitude, yet something about Jimin’s presence unsettled him in a way that felt almost… comforting.

For Jimin, the encounter was equally disarming. He had served countless customers in his time at the café, but none had looked at him the way Yoongi did—as if he mattered, as if there was something worth discovering in him. Shaking off the strange sensation, he returned to the counter, but his thoughts kept drifting back to the man by the window.

Their interaction might have ended there, a fleeting moment in the chaos of their lives. But fate, ever unpredictable, had other plans. That day marked the beginning of a connection that would challenge everything they thought they knew about themselves and each other.
