5: After reborn, I didn't rush to save her from her first love

"How can this be? When did you get together with this man Violet? How long do you even know him to be together with him?" It was Liam's anxious voice. From the start, he just kept looking at her face without saying anything but now seeing the presence of Jordan beside Violet and Violet's behaviour of not pushing him away from her.

The Violet he knows doesn't like anyone getting close to her especially males. There was a time when she twisted her ankle during college, but she did not take his help and limped due to the inflammation.

Violet did not listen to his nonsense because her ears were buzzing with ''her boyfriend'' words.

Did I hear right? He said he was my boyfriend. I know he is just helping me out but...

Lily's smug face also had some cracks as she looked at Jordan. He is tall, a few centimetres taller than Liam, and has broad shoulders and a solid chest. The suit executes his perfect physique and well-built body.

As Jordan was about to leave with Violet, Liam reached out and grabbed her wrist tightly with panic flashing across his face.

"Violet, I have something to talk to you. Can we talk?"

Violet furrowed her brows, looking at him with dissatisfaction. She reached out and took away her hand from his grip.

"Don't randomly hold anyone's hand. This is not very ethical behaviour and about talking, then I believe that we are not close enough to hold any conversation aside from work and research topics."

Liam's face turned pale upon hearing her words. Jordan looked at him, held Violet's hand and took her away from there.

After the banquet, Jordan drove Violet to her home. He stopped the car at the red signal.

"Thanks for helping me there, but you don't have to bother yourself with this. It's nothing serious." Violet said.

Jordan looked at her and did not say much before driving away, and soon they reached her home.

Violet unbuckled her seat belt, turned to him and asked"Do you want to come for a glass of water?"

"Sure"

She asked in courtesy and also to ease the intensely suffocated atmosphere in the car between them, but he readily agreed, got down from the car and walked towards her sight before helping her get down when she was still dazed because of his series of swift actions.

"Regretting?" Jordan asked, pulling her out of the car.

"I... I don't. Come inside." Violet immediately adjusted her mood and walked forward to unlock the lock on the door. She is a calm and collected person in front of others it's just him who makes her so flustered and dumb.

"Here, water" Violet put down the water on the table before him. Jordan was looking around while sitting on the couch.

He took off his tie and coat and folded his sleeves up to his elbow, revealing his veiny, solid, strong arms. Moreover, the two buttons aside from the collar button were also undone.

Violet was stunned seeing him in this state. He was all classy just before she entered the kitchen for some water. How come he turned into a wild, charismatic man like some novel alpha?

"I was feeling a little hot." Jordan took the initiative to explain.

"Oh"

"Do you know those two from before?"

It took her some time to realize that he was asking about Lily and Liam. She told him everything in brief.

"Then let me ask you, do you want to give it a try?"

"Huh?"

Jordan got up and sat next to her on the other couch, closing the distance between them.

He has been getting along well with Violet for half a month now, he knows in his heart that he is happy. He is glee around her because, this time, there is also someone who cares about his preferences and mood, cares about his well-being, and takes note of his dislikes and all.

Tonight, when he saw Liam, there was something that snapped in his heart. As a man, he knew what kind of thoughts Liam had in his heart and for the first time during his serene life he felt discomfort.

"Do you want to get into a relationship with me? Will you be my girlfriend?" Jordan held her hands and said earnestly.

Violet was first stunned, then her face started to get red due to shyness and embarrassment because of his straight, blatant words and face.

"I know it's sudden for you, but I am very clear-headed. I know what I am doing and saying. If I am with you then I'll be loyal to you and only you. You can take your time to think carefully about this. Don't be stressed." Jordan softly placed a kiss on her head, took the glass gulped down the water, took his coat and left the place.

Violet closed her eyes and hid her face between her palms as she curled up in a ball on the couch, still feeling the heat from his palm on his hand and the lingering sensation of a kiss on her head.

They all are adults, and there is nothing like "I like you" followed by a big cheesy confession, same as the college days. They knew what the other person wanted just by the look in their eyes, gestures in their manner and talking behaviour.

She did sense something but restrained herself before making any baseless assumptions, only to get hurt in the end, but...

I was right about his emotions and advances towards me.

Is this a dream or the reality of my life?

Did my crush suddenly propose to get into a relationship with me?

Violet was not able to sleep a wink due to the sudden confession of Jordan. The next day, in the morning, when he came to pick her up she was continuously yawning with dark circles under her eyes.

Jordan was worried that she'd take stress so he asked her to stay back and not to go if she didn't have much work. Violet also thought that this was a good idea. She needed a good sleep and rest. She went back to her room and slept until late noon. When she came back to the living room, to get some water and see what was in the kitchen she could cook, she was stunned to find Jordan still at her home, calmly working on his laptop.

He was dressed in a black shirt and pants, sitting on the couch and working seriously. Hearing the noise, he looked up and muted the video call with the company's department of heads.

"There is seafood oatmeal, boiled eggs and juice for you. Go and have it."

"O... Ok"

After finishing her meal, she accompanied him with his work. On the one couch, he handled his work, and on the other, Violet just silently read her books.

Now, this has become their normal routine. He came to pick her up, drop her back, and take her to have a meal. If she has a day off, either he takes her with him to the company or just stays at her home to deal with his work unless he has to go to some meetings.

She also started to go with him to business events. Slowly, the smoke of their relationship started to reach others' ears.

Jordan, the heir of the Smith family, is pursuing Violet.

Jordan's parents heard about this and asked Jordan whether it was true or not. They were happy to hear that he was trying to be with her. They don't want their son to stay entangled with Emily forever and ruin his future.

"Violet, let's talk, please. Just give me a few minutes." One day after work Liam stopped Violet, asking her to have a chat with him.

Violet did not know what he wanted to talk to her about because, as far as she knew, they did not have anything to talk about. He did chase after her, but after six months, his enthusiasm dropped, and she did not take any of this to her heart. Never blamed him or badmouthed him behind his back. He was just a passerby in her life.

But thinking of getting pestered by him again and again this time Violet agreed to listen to him. They went to the café near the hospital.

Violet did not say anything; she just continued to drink her coffee with cold, calm eyes. Liam did not touch his drink, sweating as he tried to come to the starting line.

"Are....you together with Mr. Jordan?" Liam looked at Violet and asked nervously holding his heart.

Violet stared at him before saying, "This should be none of your concern, right? We are not even friends but just college classmates but I can still tell you. Yes, I am together with Jordan. He is my boyfriend."
