Episode 5: Under His Skin
Taehyung rode through the streets, the city lights blurring as his thoughts raced faster than the bike beneath him. Jin’s words echoed in his mind—No distractions. No weaknesses. He repeated the mantra over and over, as if it could somehow erase the memory of Jungkook’s gaze—the way it had pierced through his defenses.
The mansion came into view, looming like a fortress. As he approached, Taehyung’s heart pounded louder in his chest, betraying the calm façade he had tried to maintain. He wasn’t here for a simple mission anymore. The moment Jungkook had entered his life, things had shifted, twisted into something more complex.
He parked his bike at a distance, slipping through the shadows like a ghost, just as he had been trained to do. But there was a pull, an undeniable tension in the air. It wasn’t just the thrill of the mission; it was something darker, more dangerous.
As Taehyung approached the mansion, the door opened before he could even knock. Jungkook stood there, as if expecting him, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Right on time,” Jungkook said, his voice low and dripping with amusement.
Taehyung’s jaw clenched. He had been planning this approach for hours, but Jungkook always seemed a step ahead. The man was infuriating, always in control.
“I’m not here to play games,” Taehyung muttered, stepping inside and brushing past him. The warmth of the mansion enveloped him, but it didn’t calm the storm inside his chest.
Jungkook’s laugh was soft, almost mocking. “You sure about that?”
Taehyung stopped in his tracks, turning to face Jungkook. The air between them crackled with tension, the kind that neither wanted to acknowledge but both could feel. Jungkook’s eyes flicked over him, sharp and observant, as if he could read every unspoken thought.
“Why do you do that?” Taehyung asked, his voice low but steady.
“Do what?” Jungkook’s expression was all innocence, but Taehyung wasn’t fooled.
“You… get under my skin. You make me question things I shouldn’t.”
Jungkook took a step closer, his voice dropping to a whisper. “Maybe because you don’t hate it as much as you say you do.”
The words hung in the air between them, heavy and electric. Taehyung’s breath hitched, but he forced himself to stay composed. He wouldn’t let Jungkook see the effect he had on him. He couldn’t afford that kind of vulnerability.
But Jungkook moved closer still, the space between them shrinking until Taehyung could feel the heat of his body. His presence was overwhelming, intoxicating.
“You’re playing with fire, Jungkook,” Taehyung warned, his voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook’s hand brushed against Taehyung’s arm, lingering just long enough to send a jolt through him. “Maybe I like the burn.”
For a moment, neither of them moved. The tension was thick, suffocating. Taehyung’s mind screamed at him to push Jungkook away, to regain control of the situation, but his body betrayed him. He stayed rooted in place, his heart pounding in his ears.
“Why are you really here, Taehyung?” Jungkook asked, his voice soft but commanding. “Is it just the mission, or is it something more?”
Taehyung swallowed hard, his throat dry. He couldn’t answer. Didn’t know how to. The mission was clear: take Jungkook out, eliminate the threat. But every time he was near him, the lines blurred. And now, standing so close, with Jungkook’s eyes locked on his, it felt impossible to deny the pull between them.
Before Taehyung could respond, Jungkook’s hand reached up, gently cradling his jaw. The touch was surprisingly tender, completely at odds with the danger that surrounded them. Taehyung’s breath hitched again, his pulse racing.
“You’re not like the others,” Jungkook murmured, his thumb brushing lightly against Taehyung’s skin. “I can see it. You feel it too, don’t you?”
Taehyung’s mind screamed at him to pull away, to shove Jungkook’s hand off, but his body was frozen, torn between the instinct to fight and the overwhelming desire to give in. And then, before he could make sense of what was happening, Jungkook’s lips were on his.
The kiss was fierce, a collision of emotions that neither of them could contain any longer. Taehyung’s hands instinctively reached for Jungkook’s shoulders, gripping tightly as if to anchor himself. Jungkook deepened the kiss, his hand sliding to the back of Taehyung’s neck, pulling him closer.
For a moment, the world around them disappeared. The mission, the threats, the lies—it all melted away, leaving only the intensity of the moment, the heat between them. But then, just as quickly as it had started, Taehyung pulled back, breaking the kiss, his chest heaving with the effort to regain control.
“This… this doesn’t change anything,” Taehyung muttered, his voice hoarse.
Jungkook’s eyes were dark, filled with a hunger that sent a shiver down Taehyung’s spine. “Doesn’t it?”
Taehyung’s heart pounded in his chest, but he forced himself to turn away, walking towards the door. He needed to think. He needed space. But as he reached for the handle, Jungkook’s voice stopped him.
“You can try to deny it, Taehyung. But I’m already under your skin. And you’re under mine.”
