Flashback

The morning sun shone directly into the room. Sophia groaned, she wanted to sleep more but the sun was too bright blinding her eyes. She sat up and held her head in her hands. “Ahh my hard hurts” she whined. “ Ah why did I drink again?” She asked herself. Right then all the memories flooded back into her head.

FLASH BACK

“Sophia aren’t you going home yet”? her friend Winda asked. Sophia was sorting out some documents in her office. Ever since her mother left the company in her hands she didn’t want to see it collapse so she worked hard everyday. Looking up from the document in her hand, she briefly glanced at Winda. “Let me just finish this and I’ll leave with you” she said. “ Oh come on Sophie is getting late already! Winda whined. Seeing her whine like child Sophia chuckled. “ Alright let’s go” she put the documents in one of her drawers and locked it. “ Finally! “ Winda breathed a sigh of relief. “ Am sure your Fiancé must be waiting for you now”. She teased. “ I told Kevin I wouldn’t come back tonight” Said Sophia. Winda looked at her with a raised brow,” you did that? then she grinned” why don’t you surprise him”. She suggested. Sophia picked up her purse and exited the building with Winda talking on their way out. “ Mmm that’s sounds like a great idea” Sophia smiled. Sophia met her Fiancé Kevin in a cafe when she accidentally spilled coffee on him. Kevin being a gentleman didn’t make a fuss like what other men usually do when their expensive suits are spilled with coffee. “ oh I’m so sorry” Sophia frantically apologized. Kevin took a tissue wiping off the coffee stain. “Is ok, is just an accident” he smiled. Kevin was handsome with his dimples and messy brown hair. Seeing his smile Sophia blushed. “ you sure it’s ok? cause I can tell your suit is quite expensive plus there is a huge patch of coffee stain on it. “ she emphasized. “ You don’t need to worry, I have an extra in the car so I can change. He reassured. Sophia was still flustered by the situation . “ Are you su……. “ hey you don’t need to get so worked up! I insist, it’s fine” he cut her off. “ Thank you” Sophia breathed. Kevin chuckled “ you don’t need to thank me for anything, am a gentleman so I don’t need to blame a lady for something which was partly my fault too. Sophia laughed at his words. “ Why don’t we catch up for coffee sometime? He offered. Sophia was a bit hesitant. Seeing her hesitating he said, “ you can treat it as a way for you to apologize, so what do you say?. She smiled “ sure why not!”. Kevin’s smile widened “ that’s great, sorry I didn’t introduce myself” he said feeling a bit bashful. “ I’m Kevin Green by the way, may I know your name pretty lady? he grinned. “ Sophia Evans ( she introduced), nice to meet you Mr Green. They briefly shook hands. “ Likewise” he said. “ I will take my leave then” Sophia said heading out. “ Ok meet me here on Saturday. Kevin added. With a nod Sophia left. From then on she and Kevin became became close. She knew Kevin liked her but she was not ready for a relationship since her boyfriend for two years cheated on her with her sister, but with Kevin’s persistent caring and pampering she slowly fell in love with him. They were happy together being girlfriend and boyfriend when out of the blue Kevin proposed to her. That the she felt like the happiest woman on earth. The two of them made all the preparations for the wedding but since Kevin’s father was sick, the wedding was postponed.

End of flashback*

Sophia! Sophia! she felt someone shaking her. It was Winda. She snapped out of her thoughts. “ Geez what planet are you on! I’ve been calling your name for a while now. “ Sorry I wasn’t paying attention just now, what is it that you were saying? She asked. Rolling her eyes, Winda said “ I was saying that I bought you a bottle of wine yesterday for you to celebrate your upcoming wedding. She squealed. Sophia smiled “ you didn’t have to but thanks. She hugged her. When they got outside, Winda rushed towards her car bringing out bottle of wine with a glance on can tell how expensive the bottle is. Sophia took the wine and hugged Winda.” Thank you” she said. “ Ok Sophie I will see you tomorrow”Winda kissed Sophia’s cheek. “ enjoy your wine” she added and left.

Getting into her car Sophia drove to Kevin’s apartment. Reaching his apartment she quickly took out her spare keys and unlocked the door. In the living room she didn’t find Kevin so she decided to check his bedroom. “ Kevin honey where are you” she called out. When she got to the bedroom it was also empty, “ Mmmh where could he have gone? She muttered. She was about calling him when she heard some noise coming from the bathroom. “ He must be in the bathroom” she concluded. Opening the bathroom room door she peeked her head inside. “ Kevin honey are you……. She suddenly froze witnessing the scene in front of her. KEVIN!!, HILDA! ? She screamed, tears falling down her face. In the bathroom two figures were entangled with each other, they stopped what they were doing when they heard Sophia scream. Kevin looked up in panic. “ Sophia I can explain” he took a towel and wrapped it around his waist. Tears flooded Sophia’s eyes, she felt the world around her spinning. She shouted at Kevin. “ Explain ? what do you want to fucking explain? “ I just caught you having sex with my friend so what’s there to explain huh” ? Kevin felt a pang in his heart. “ Babe I’m sorry” he whispered. Don’t you babe me Kevin, I can’t believe you did this to me. You’re my Fiancé Kevin and we are about to get married, at least have some dignity! She turned to Hilda with a hard glare.” And you! I thought you were my friend but I guess that wasn’t the case.” She smiled bitterly. “ Sophie am sorry” Hilda sobbed “ it was all my fault” she sobbed even harder causing Kevin to frown. “ You can’t blame yourself Hilda, it’s her fault too” he said pointing a finger at Sophia with a sneer. Sophia laughed mockingly. “ So now is my fault”?. Kevin sighed feeling frustrated”. “ Can’t you see it Sophia? You are so uptight, you won’t even let me touch you. You’re always in your business clothes not revealing any skin, I’m a man Sophia and I have needs!. Not wanting to feel guilty he blamed everything on Sophia. “ Ha ! so is that what this is about? Me? . She asked feeling suffocated. Kevin groaned “ Goddamn it Sophia, you’re not sexy enough” he said massaging his brows.” I can’t be with you anymore!. His words were like daggers piercing her heart. She raised her hand and slapped Kevin hard. “ I thought you were different” she said. She removed the ring on her finger and threw it on Kevin’s face, after that she strode out of the apartment. Kevin’s words still echoed in her ears “ you’re not sexy enough”. What a joke ! “ I will show you how sexy I am” she said with gritted teeth. She drove to a Salon, did a makeover and headed to the club where she had shot after shot before she met Keith.
