The duke arrived 3 minutes after I did. Even though there was a difference between our arriving time, people began to gossip

"Don't tell me the reason the duke is loyal to the emperor is because he wants to marry his sister"

"My, have they decided to make their relationship public now that the princess has come of age"

"Do you think the emperor will allow them to get married?"

"Well the duke is very wealthy and loyal to the emperor, he also has good looks"

"Right the emperor would not be able to find such a perfect brother in law even if he searched the whole world"

"Right, I can only accept the princess as the duchess, after all she's so kind and beautiful and she perfectly suits the duke"

"Well are you sure that they are a couple, thry didn't come together now, did they?"

All these doubts immediately cleared up when the duke asked me for a dance, after which talked for a while on the balcony, just about the weather and what I would have liked for a gift because we knew that the emperor had sent someone to watch over

I thought that she was some stupid girl fallen for my looks, to think she would know that much. I decided to agree because of the blood oath and because she had full support from the Empress dowager and a lot of nobles it wouldn't harm me to try...besides she's really pretty...ahh what am i thinking of, i sound just like that male lead from the novel last night, anyway I will just ask the emperor, lets see what fate beholds...

"Ah...for my favourite knight to want to meet me on his own, that almost never happened. May I have the honour to ask for some tea"

"Forgive me your Majesty, but I have had a healthy breakfast at home and wouldn't want to take too much of your time so I'll cut the chase, please allow me to take the Princess as my aide"

"Wha...t are you talking about duke?"

"We both talked awhile yesterday and I found her...quite amusing, therefore I request Your Majesty to allow me to take the Princess in my territory... as my aide"

"Huh?... You see...I have never refused to anything you've asked for but for this...I need a little time so that I can think and discuss this matter"

''Of course, Your Majesty, this isn't a decision you can make hastily but I hope you know that this decision would help the princess alot"

"yes... I'll think about it..."

"Then this servant would take his leave"

I didn't know whether asking for the princess as my aide was a right move or not... but I feel like I can trust her...

Empress Dowager

"My, what made my nephew visit my palace"

"I would like to talk to you about something, Aunt"

That bastard.. who do you think your aunt is, I am 3 years younger than you!

"And what would that be?"

"Yesterday, the duke Wynknight asked to send the Princess to his territory"

"As a marriage partner?"

"No, as an aide"

" ...what.."

"Yes, he said when he met at the ball last night, he 'found her quite amusing' his exact words"

"My, I wonder how your romantic life was"

"Of course, the duke is romantically interested in her, well i suggest you let her go"

"what makes you so sure that he doesn't want her as his aide only"

"My, of course it's because that girl is so stupid, unless the duke is cracked he wouldn't take her as his aide and as being romantically interested, the duke isn't someone who plays around now, is he?"

"Do you not realize how good it would be if she married him, the duke is loyal to you now but what about the future?"

emperor(thinking) well he would always remain loyal but it indeed is a good opportunity, if Estelle marries into the Wynknights, she would have to obey me and I can ask her to give up her right to the throne...

emperor: well, i guess you are right then i will excuse myself, aunt

"Of course, always feel free to come to me if you have any problems"
