He stares up at his ceiling, and he raises his hand, handing on one of his slender fingers was a pretty necklace. one with the initials JJK.

His eyes fill with tears as he sees it.

today was the 5-year anniversary.

5 years he's spent wallowing in sorrow, guilt and self hatred.

5 whole years and he hasn't forgotten the look on the other's face.

He forgot everything about July 14, 2018.

Everything except the one thing he wanted to forget.

The one thing everyone told him he'd get over eventually.

How stupid had he been to believe them. All the "it'll get better with time" "you'll get over it soon" "you'll move on eventually". He really tried to believe them, but they were wrong.

isn't five years long enough for him to be over it? but he's not. if he was he wouldn't be here lying in bed crying.

Over the death of his first love.

He didn't even get to tell him how he felt.

Didn't get to share a first kiss with him.

Didn't get to rock him to sleep on a rainy day.

He wishes he could.

What he'd give to do that?

Jungkook...

He cries, hugging the necklace as he dampens his pillowcase.

Taehyung

I miss you.

He remembers it so well, so clearly

everytime he closes his eyes.

Taehyung smiled as he looked down at the Naruto poster he had bought at the store the day before. He knows Jungkook was always talking about anime, so he thought he'd buy it for him.

He couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he gave it to him. He was going to be so happy.

Taehyung quickly grabs his bag and he runs down the stairs. It takes a while, one of the downsides of living in such a big house was that it took him so long to get from one place to the other.

Taehyung

Good morning, mom

Mrs. Kim

Good morning my dear, you're awfully happy today, aren't you?

Taehyung

I am, I've gotta give Jungkook this gift I bought.

Mrs. Kim

You talk about him every day, yet I still haven't gotten the privilege to meet him.

Taehyung

He's shy, mom. I'll get you to meet him someday..

Mrs. Kim

Okay, just eat your breakfast now.

Taehyung

I would, but I just really want to get to school.

Taehyung

*smiles*

His mom shakes his head at him as he runs out the door, way too happy to see Jungkook.

Mrs. Kim

💭 He skipped a meal just to see this Jungkook guy. He really is in love, huh? 💭

Taehyung ran into school, his smile bright as he made his way to his home room, he was pretty early, but it was fine. Jungkook was usually early too, so he wouldn't have to wait long.

At least, that's what he thought.

He waited 30 minutes, No Jungkook.

Another 30 minutes, and he saw no Jungkook, walking through the door of their home room.

And before long he was headed to his first class, still no Jungkook.

Where was he?

It was now the end of school and by then Taehyung had already accepted the fact that Jungkook just didn't come to school, so he went home with the biggest pout on his face.

He really wanted to see the other, but he guesses he was just sick. He would be at school tomorrow though, so he smiled to himself that night. Dreaming that he'd give Jungkook his gift.

Taehyung went to school even earlier that day. In his mind, if Jungkook had been sick, he wanted the other to know that he'd really missed him when he was absent.

So for 2 hours he just stared at the door, his pout falling deeper every time someone walked through the door and wasn't Jungkook.

And just liked yesterday, he waited for Jungkook but he never came.

Taehyung was still sure Jungkook was probably sick. He thinks to visit him but Jungkook never took him to house before. He couldn't

They'd hang out at an abandoned warehouse, near the Jinseng Forest. Somewhere they could be alone with each other.

Once school is out, Taehyung pulls his phone out and he sends a text to Jungkook.

He sighs as he waits for another text from the other.

but he gets a text from his mom before he gets one from Jungkook

and as he puts his phone away, he gets another series of texts.

He doesn't even remember why he had his phone on silent mode that day.

He didn't hear any of those messages come in.

and by the time he saw them, it was too late.
