He stares up at his ceiling, and he raises his hand, handing on one of his slender fingers was a pretty necklace. one with the initials JJK.
His eyes fill with tears as he sees it.
today was the 5-year anniversary.
5 years he's spent wallowing in sorrow, guilt and self hatred.
5 whole years and he hasn't forgotten the look on the other's face.
He forgot everything about July 14, 2018.
Everything except the one thing he wanted to forget.
The one thing everyone told him he'd get over eventually.
How stupid had he been to believe them. All the "it'll get better with time" "you'll get over it soon" "you'll move on eventually". He really tried to believe them, but they were wrong.
isn't five years long enough for him to be over it? but he's not. if he was he wouldn't be here lying in bed crying.
Over the death of his first love.
He didn't even get to tell him how he felt.
Didn't get to share a first kiss with him.
Didn't get to rock him to sleep on a rainy day.
What he'd give to do that?
He cries, hugging the necklace as he dampens his pillowcase.
He remembers it so well, so clearly
everytime he closes his eyes.
Taehyung smiled as he looked down at the Naruto poster he had bought at the store the day before. He knows Jungkook was always talking about anime, so he thought he'd buy it for him.
He couldn't wait to see the look on his face when he gave it to him. He was going to be so happy.
Taehyung quickly grabs his bag and he runs down the stairs. It takes a while, one of the downsides of living in such a big house was that it took him so long to get from one place to the other.
Taehyung
Good morning, mom
Mrs. Kim
Good morning my dear, you're awfully happy today, aren't you?
Taehyung
I am, I've gotta give Jungkook this gift I bought.
Mrs. Kim
You talk about him every day, yet I still haven't gotten the privilege to meet him.
Taehyung
He's shy, mom. I'll get you to meet him someday..
Mrs. Kim
Okay, just eat your breakfast now.
Taehyung
I would, but I just really want to get to school.
His mom shakes his head at him as he runs out the door, way too happy to see Jungkook.
Mrs. Kim
💭 He skipped a meal just to see this Jungkook guy. He really is in love, huh? 💭
Taehyung ran into school, his smile bright as he made his way to his home room, he was pretty early, but it was fine. Jungkook was usually early too, so he wouldn't have to wait long.
At least, that's what he thought.
He waited 30 minutes, No Jungkook.
Another 30 minutes, and he saw no Jungkook, walking through the door of their home room.
And before long he was headed to his first class, still no Jungkook.
It was now the end of school and by then Taehyung had already accepted the fact that Jungkook just didn't come to school, so he went home with the biggest pout on his face.
He really wanted to see the other, but he guesses he was just sick. He would be at school tomorrow though, so he smiled to himself that night. Dreaming that he'd give Jungkook his gift.
Taehyung went to school even earlier that day. In his mind, if Jungkook had been sick, he wanted the other to know that he'd really missed him when he was absent.
So for 2 hours he just stared at the door, his pout falling deeper every time someone walked through the door and wasn't Jungkook.
And just liked yesterday, he waited for Jungkook but he never came.
Taehyung was still sure Jungkook was probably sick. He thinks to visit him but Jungkook never took him to house before. He couldn't
They'd hang out at an abandoned warehouse, near the Jinseng Forest. Somewhere they could be alone with each other.
Once school is out, Taehyung pulls his phone out and he sends a text to Jungkook.
He sighs as he waits for another text from the other.
but he gets a text from his mom before he gets one from Jungkook
and as he puts his phone away, he gets another series of texts.
He doesn't even remember why he had his phone on silent mode that day.
He didn't hear any of those messages come in.
and by the time he saw them, it was too late.

He can't explain it, but he felt it.
He knew something was wrong.
He knew Jungkook wasn't okay, and only one thing ran through his mind.

but he was, he ran so fast and still...
He cries as he ran up the hill towards his and Jungkook's secret spot and by the time he did, the rain had started falling.
He knew Jungkook wasn't okay.
But he didn't want to believe it.
He says as he turns the last corner, all he had to do now was run straight for the building but the moment the building came in sight he couldn't move.
His limbs just wouldn't go.
His eyes well up and he starts sobbing.
He was so far away yet could see it.
Taehyung
💭 He... *gulps* He's okay 💭
He says, and he forces himself to move closer, tears streaming down his face. So much tears, so much rain he could barely see.
He calls as he got a little closer, he wasn't close enough to say for sure it was Jungkook, but part of it was just him being in denial. He wouldn't be able to accept anything other than "Jungkook's okay"
He screams, a bit more loud and with a hint of anger because he was close enough now where there was no denying that it was Jungkook.
Laying back against the hard concrete, a pool of blood being washed away by the rain beneath him.
Taehyung cries as he falls to his knees and he looks down at Jungkook, and he sobs even harder.
He shakes the other once, almost as if he expected him to jump up from a deep slumber.
But the other's eyes were open. He wasn't asleep.
Taehyung
You're going to be okay.
He tells, and he pulls his phone out of his pocket before he calls the police.
He hangs the phone up before looks back at Jungkook, and he starts crying even harder.
The more he looked at him, the harder it got to deny that he was gone.
Taehyung
Please, Jungkook...
He says and shakes him a bit more but, he was just laying there, lifeless. He was gone.
He sobs loudly as he shakes the other some more.
He cries, and it's heartbreaking. The type of pain you'd never wish on your greatest enemy. He'd lived it.
Not once, not twice but every time he closes his eyes.
Taehyung
Please... I can't.... you...
Taehyung
You can't leave me.
He screams as his whole body just gives way, and he lays there crying in the rain. Soaked in water and blood and his own tears.
He cried until the police got there, and it took so long for them to pull him away from Jungkook. He didn't want to leave him.
How could he live in a world where he had no Jungkook.
The officers pull him away desperately, and if it were up to him, he'd have never moved.
He was never the same after that day.
Everyone could tell, but for his sake they tried not mention it.
He ate less, smiled less, talked less, and he didn't do anything.
One minute he was top student, the next he was a high school drop it.
Not that it mattered much, he had the type of generational wealth that he didn't need to work. He'd still have money.
But he had no Jungkook, so there was no point.
He sits up, looking at the necklace.
He had been wearing it when he died. The police gave it to him, saying he should take it "since he was the one who gave it to Jungkook"
He cried himself sick that night.
And he hasn't stop wearing the necklace since he got it.
He opens it as tears stream down his face.
There was a photo of Jungkook
He always seemed so happy.
But if he was happy, would he have...?
Taehyung throws the necklace away,, and it hits the wall before it falls and he picks up his water.
He wanted to see Jungkook.
He closes his eyes, and within minutes it all fades to black.
He blinks a few times, confused.
He sighs, he's still alive isn't he?
His eyes tear up and as he looks around, a thought hits him.
Taehyung
💭 Why am I not in my bed? 💭
Taehyung
I was in my bed, just now, should I be-💭
He pauses when he looks around, trying to figure out where he was, and it was familiar.
There was jewelry everywhere. He looks to his left and that's when he sees the name of the store.
It's the same store he bought the necklace.
One of him and one for Jungkook.
Clerk
Can I help you dear?... Are you okay?
He runs out of the building, ignoring the lady.

He didn't think much, didn't know whether this was where he should go.
He knows he was probably crazy for thinking, even just wonder if for some reason Jungkook would be staring at him like he would before.
He turns the corner he hadn't seen in the past five years, and he makes his way to the building. He didn't see anyone.
Wasn't this his dream? Or... the place where he gets to say goodbye?
Taehyung
Why aren't you here?
He says as he climbs the last step of the building. He was on the roof, where he and Jungkook would laugh and talk.
Where he was always the happiest.
He sinks to the floor, and he cries, feeling pathetic.
Even when he's dead, he's still alone.
He doesn't make a sound, nor does he move. He just stays there, eyes wide.
He hears footsteps approach him and before long, the pretty male stoops before him, with a shocked expression and Taehyung just cries.
Jungkook asks, so calmly. so sweetly and Taehyung just cries as he stares at him in disbelief.
Taehyunf hesitantly raises a hand, and he touches the other, hands on his cheeks. He felt so real.
He's fantasized about this moment so many times yet he's clueless as to what to say. He doesn't know what to say and seeing Jungkook's eyes filled with tears didn't make it any easier.
Taehyung gasps as he feels Jungkook pulling him into a hug.
He sighs as he wraps his arms back around the older, tightly. He wouldn't let him go ever again.
Jungkook felt bad. The other was crying like this because of him wasn't he? And he didn't even know how to comfort him. He's so worthless.
Jungkook
Taehyung, Why... Why are you crying? Did I... Did I do something?
Jungkook asks, softly, and he looks over at Taehyung, who just started crying more at the sound of his voice.
Taehyung smiles at that, Jungkook should be furious with him. Should be screaming at him... because he wasn't there. He didn't save him yet here he was being concerned for him. Taehyung's smile falls quickly.
Taehyung whispers into Jungkook's neck as he continued sobbing and Jungkook hated it. Hated it because why did Taehyung feel like he ever needed to apologize to him? If anything he should be the apologize to Taehyung. For being so useless. Even his parents didn't want him.
Jungkook
Sorry for what? Don't cry like this.
Jungkook tries and Taehyung cries even more.
Jungkook
💭 I'm just making things worse... Like I always do. 💭
Jungkook pulls away from the hug and he wipes Taehyung's tears as best as he could, and while he does Taehyung speaks again.
Taehyung
I'm sorry I was too late... I... I'm sorry I couldn't save you...
He sobs more, and Jungkook pouts. He was beyond confused.
Jungkook
What are you talking about?

💭 he was so happy earlier, why is he crying now? 💭
He says, so softly and he sounded so pained saying it. Almost like he absolutely despised saying that and Jungkook feels like he should laugh. Wasn't he joking?
But he couldn't laugh, it didn't feel like a joke.
Taehyung
You killed yourself... i was too late and I couldn't save you and I... I think I've been given a chance to apologize... or just to see you before I... I don't know but I just want to tell you how sorry I am...

I've miserable for the past 5 years without you.
He pauses when a phone rings and it confuses him.
Why was a phone ringing when he was in... Wasn't this his after life?
Jungkook
Aren't you going to answer that?
He looks at Jungkook before he digs into his pocket and he pulls out his phone, it's all this moment he gets a glimpse of what he was wearing
He was in his high school uniform.
He doesn't think much about that as he looks at his phone.
It was a call from his mom...
Taehyung
💭 What's going on ? 💭
He answers the phone and he hears his mom's voice on the line. He stands at the shock of it all.
Taehyung
💭 is this real? Is all this real? 💭
Mrs. Kim
Taehyung, you there?
Mrs. Kim
Yes, it's me. I'm calling to ask what you want for dinner
Taehyung
I.... Mom... *cries*
Mrs. Kim
Sweetheat, Are you okay?
Taehyung
Mom, I don't know what's going on... I-

He died and now he's in front of me and I...
Before he finishes he feels a dark cloud come over him, and he's fainting.
