Chapter 3 - Friendship & Game

Loud shooting firearms sound effects filling my room. The chatter from the headset turned to be sizzling voices. I rubbed my forehead and clicked my tongue, "Bobby?!"

No answer, "Bobby!"

He must be doing something else while gaming. The sizzling sound when you add butter into a hot pan. It sounds annoying.

I moaned, "Bobbyyyy" rubbing my face, "It's so noisy. Stop the pan, please"

I am hypersensitivity to sound, distress upon hearing sound that may include sensitivity to specific triggering noises, or loud noises in general. It doesn't mean I have those kind of anxiety disorder or something, I just feel uncomfortable hearing some noises that disturb my ears.

"How could you know I am cooking?"

I blew a harsh breath, "Bah, I know it! You just bought a brand new ROG laptop, that's how I know. You'll cook while gaming, take a bath while gaming, and so on. Show off" I hisshed.

"Fck while gaming. BRUAKAKAKAKAKAKKK!!"

"Really? Are you planning to post this into your Youtube?" he just talk inappropriately, right? Which is not good for underage kids to hear.

"I- guess?" the sizzling noises stop, now I heard clanking plates, "But... I don't have a girlfriend"

"Take a walk, and find someone to talk to, at least" I adviced.

"Arghhh!!! An otaku and game freak like me won't made it\~"

Even though he is my love-advisor in the past. Bobby never lift his *** and go out to find new activities instead of just playing game. He ordered online everything even the groceries, I have no idea when the last time he took a step outside his house, inhaling the smell of the sun and dust, or talking to cashier while ordering something.

I clicked my tongue, my hand still typing, and the other hand moving the mouse, "Then find an otaku girlfriend" remembering bunch of cute gamer girls outside.

"Ahhhhh" he exclaimed, "I'll dress her like... a bunny? Or a nurse? Or a school girl?"

"Is that even important??" I grunt.

"Ahhh! Waitress! With bunny headbands!!"

I can feel the heat rose from my neck, somehow it reminds me of Tiere. It must be cute? Or sexy?

Damn it, what am I thinking?!

"Are you...-"

"What???" I asked.

"Applying my imagination to your girlfriend?"

"What?! NO!" how can this jerk read my mind so well.

A husky laugh escaped his throat, "It must be cute. Imagine it when-"

"Stop!"

"She wore that thing and lays on your bed" he still continue talking about it. What is in the world happening to this guy?

"STOPP!!" I clicked my tongue. He will never quit talking about it if I don't stop him.

I watch Anime, I grew up with Otakus but I don't want to be the shameless immature guy who likes to imagine her girlfriend wearing cheapy cosplay. This is embarrassing.

"Just play the game and focus" I surrender, let's just quit thinking about it.

"Whoaaaa!!! We WON!!! EARLY IN THE MORNING! CHICKEN CHICKEN BREAKFAST\~" heard him clapping his hand aggressively, then he shoots a guy behind the rock. We win the game.

"Guys! We win the battle! Thanks to my handsome buddy, Ryan"

"Yea..yeaa.."

"See!! My handsome dude, Ryann!!!"

I tend to turn my webcam on while playing game cause sometimes Tiere would video calls me through PC anytime when she sees me online.

I was surprised once I realize Bobby is revealing my mask. I covered my webcam immediately with my hands, then I pull out a tissue to cover it.

"Bobbyy... really..."

He likes to make fun of me, when I am the type of not exposing myself. I don't feel comfortable, it is just so not me. That's the main reason why I don't do Youtube things like Bobby. Bobby might be a nerd too, but he is confident and talkative. When I am 100% an introvert and hate public speaking, can't even speak when everyone's eyes are on me.

I put down my headset on the desk as I peep the digital clock on my bedside table. It must be Tiere, who wakes up at 10 every Sunday.

Tiere: Baby\~ Awake?

Me: Yep! Since 7. Did some sports and gaming with Bob right now. You? Have you taken your brunch?

Tiere: I'm doing it. Nah!

She sent me a picture of her fried egg, which is.. I couldn't tell whether it is egg benedict or just an omelette.

It's.... so ugly, I could tell I feel like laughing, so I snorted some laughs. She's so cute.

Me: Ohh... I had salad this morning.

Tiere: It's ugly:( Did you laugh?

Me: Oh nooo, no, of course not. How could I laugh.

Tiere: Are you being sarcastic? :/

Me: Nope. I'm not.. hehehe

"Heyy!!!!!! Guyss!!! This is my friend, Ryan!"

The hyperactive Bobby yelled for his live streaming, I could hear him really clear even though I am not wearing a headset.

"I gotta go" I said as I put on the headset, "Bye" cause every Sunday, and Saturday night. We are going to have hours of video calls. I missed her so much. Can't wait to see her!

I switched my application and direct to push the Facetime section.

Waiting for her to pick up. Can't wait to see her even just from the screen.

"Hi my baby!"

Ahhh, I'm so happy to see her.

"Hi! Are you not going to grocery shopping?"

She shook her head as she busy washing the dishes, "Not today. I've enough food for this week"

"Then, what's your plan? Not hanging out with Agnes?"

She shook her head again, this time she took off her apron and hang it somewhere.

"No, she has a vacation with her boyfriend"

"Ohh...."

Tiere's eyes widened, "Ahh.. Don't you want to have a vacation with me too?" she pouted.

"Of course! I'm dying for it!" just imagining it made me happy.

"Then, we have to start planning for it" she said with a click of her fingers, "And anyway.."

"Hmm?" I hummed, "Yes, baby?"

"That person! Sucks!" she moaned.

"Who?"

"Urghhh... It's Tokyo Ghoul, baby"

"I hate that white haired girl"

"Oh yea.. Why?"

"Just hate her. Anyway why don't you try to watch Tokyo Ghoul as well?"

"Nah. Not into it"

"It's still mystery, action, baby, not a romance stuffs"

"I still prefer something like Overlord"

"Okay. So you done watching the whole episodes?"

"The last part is the only left"

"Ohh..." Tiere hummed, then she clicked her finger, "Ahh! Do you know?!" and talking so vigorously.

"Yes? What it is?"

"I met the manager yesterday, like face to face after a week. He was off for a huge meeting in other country"

"How does he look like? Is he a fierce creature? Or a spoiled manager kid who wants everything done by his secretary?" like in the movies.

"Hahaha. No, he is quiet fine and responsible"

"What did you guys talked about on the first meeting?"

She taps her finger on her chin, thinking, "Asking about my age, working experience and which school I graduated"

"Is he handsome?"

"He actually looked like a spoiled vanilla boy from China"

"W-what do you mean by that?" I feel like a thousand paper cuts, just start to think negative don't know how and why.

"He's just normal, we don't talk much" she smiles.

Hearing her talking about him with the word, "Vanilla Boy" reminds me of the past when we were fake dating:

Tiere rolled her eyes “Dude, you are handsome, clever, and rich, but stupid. What a vanilla boy!”

“What is a vanilla boy?” I ask confusedly.

“ASK MR.GOOGLE”

I was kinda speechless when she applied it to other guy, actually it make no sense at all. Even though the words "Vanilla Boy" is something to make fun of me, back in that time.

(sighed) Why am I thinking such useless things.

"Ryan? Baby? My love?"

I hummed, "Yes?"

Tiere frowned, "Are you okay?" she looks worried, from how Tiere looked at me, she knows I've been thinking much, "Do you have anything in your mind?"

I shook my head, "No" without realizing it, my forehead crinkling and I look away.

"Baby?" again, she wants to make sure I am okay, "Baby, I-"

"I'm sorry" I cut her, Tiere seems deep in sorrow, she must feel bad, seeing her like that hurts me. I promise myself to make her happy, there's no reason for me to make her concerns some of my useless thoughts.

"I just think too much, maybe I'm not used to" just to make a clean chest.

"Are you?" her eyes widened, she exhales a quick breath and pats her chest, "I thought you are angry!"

"I- I-"

"I can't believe you are jealous!" she sighed, "I thought I made you mad or something been bothering you because of I-I"

"Je-jealous?" I repeated, paused astounded. Guessing it would not be a bad thing at the first place from how Tiere responds to it.

"Hm?" she raised her eyebrows, "Yes, you are jealous, right?" she asked me back.

I finally come to my sense, maybe she's right and it wasn't really a bad thing. I just being jealous, but maybe I am also overreacting? I don't want to make her uncomfortable with me being so childish.

"I'm sorry!!" I said with a derisive loud of laugh.

"I'm gonna pinch your n*pple if you are here" she rolled her eyes, "Why are you sorry? That's normal"

I don't think I should be jealous, I trust her. Thus, she said she's not interested of him at all. Love, trust and honesty is the key of a long lasting relstionship. I should take immense to comfort her, I have to be both good friend and boyfriend. What for taking judgements so seriously, besides Tiere just work for money.
