Luciano knew he was late, but in all honesty he didn't give two f***s. He just didn't want to see the face of that traitor of a woman ever again. But here he was going on a date with her. He would make sure this was the last one, because he didn't want to have anything to do with her ever again.

He stepped on the gas paddle and drove as fast as he could, when his phone started going off again. He knew he had to pick his mother's calls or else she was going to call him till his phone ran out of battery.

She was totally against this so called date. And he could understand how she felt. I mean, what type of mother would allow her son go on a date with the same woman who broke his heart two years ago, not only did she turn down his marriage proposal she also ran away with his coward of a cousin. So, of course, she had every right to be against it.

He Averted his gaze from the road for a split second In an attempt to connect his phone to the Bluetooth of his car but that was enough to give him the biggest scare of his life.

He stepped on the break forcefully and honked as hard as he could but it wasn't enough to stop the impending accident.

His eyes widened in shock as he saw a body fall in front of his car.

Did he just kill someone ??; Was the only thought running through his mind at that moment.

Luciano's heart hammered violently in his chest as he waited patiently in front of the operation room. He was still trying to process the fact that he almost killed an innocent woman and it was all because of that ridiculous date.

His phone vibrated again and he was this close to flinging it across the room when he saw the caller. It was the number of the woman he despised the most. He braced himself for her pretentious and deceitful tone before picking the call.

"Hello Luciano" Isabella's voice pierced through the speaker and it was like a million little needles we're puncturing his ear drums.

She was the last person he wanted to speak to....... Ever!!. He knew it was just a matter of time before she shows her true colors.

"Miss Monroe I'm afraid we have to cancel our date" he said with his tone void of any remorse.

"Really Luciano !!." And she snapped sooner than he expected. 'he was actually planning on canceling' she thought to herself

"Isabella something urgent came up." He said.

"Something urgent huh!!...... Was that 'something' more important than i am ?. Luciano you didn't even have the decency to call and inform me that there would be a change of plans." She said angrily, she was obviously still vexed about the issue that took place at the restaurant and was looking to vent it on him, and in the process she forgot her place.

'well he doesn't have to know that I left either' she said inwardly.

Luciano furrowed his brows as he thought to himself 'is she for real right now ??', it was moments like this that he was grateful she turned down his proposal. He couldn't even imagine spending the rest of his life with this arrogant and saucy woman. What was he thinking two years back?.

He couldn't deny the fact that he was binded by love.

He had had enough and impatiently hung up the phone when he saw the doctor striding out of the operation room. He rushed towards the doctor

"Doctor how is she ??.... Was the the operation successful??...... Is she okay?"

Usually he was a man of few words but the adrenaline from the incident was still kicking through him. And at this point he could only hope she was okay.
