"So?... What did he say?" Mr Monroe asked his daughter as his patience was slipping through his fingers.

He had found out about Isabella leaving the restaurant before Luciano arrived. But turns out he didn't even go.

"He said he had something urgent to take care of and hung up on me." She explained.

"Useless child!" Mr Monroe spat angrily, making Isabella and her mother, who was stand just few feet away from them, flinch in fear.

"Do you know how hard I tried, to convince chairman Rocci, regarding this date." He said, tone filled with nothing but pure anger.

His daughter has been nothing but a source of disappointment and shame towards their family name, ever since she turned down Luciano Rocci's marriage proposal. All she knew how to do was travel around the world drinking and partying with different people.

"It's not my fault the date didn't work out."I She spat back arrogantly, and that earned her a resounding and forceful slap from her father.

Mrs Monroe on the other hand couldn't do anything but watch as her daughter was being hit, she knew the situation was way out of her control.

"Then who's fault is it!!, huh?.... Is it mine?..... Is it my fault you let an opportunity of a lifetime go to waste. Anybody in your shoes would have grabbed it tightly...... but what did you do ??.... you Ran off with that useless boy............. "

" I love him !!." She said with her palm grazing her cheek as her eyes glistened with tears threatening to fall.

"You love him ??" Mr Monroe scoffed "Then why didn't he consider that love you had for him when he ran off and left you all alone."

It was true. She and Luciano had dated and were Finally starts in so be able to bare each other for the sake of their families' merger, until she had an encounter which his cousin/ rival, Giovanni Rocci, he swept her of her feet and she immediately fell for him. She loved him and he loved her too, at least that's what she thought.

They both deviced a plan to run away and live happily together but it's just happened to fall on the same day Luciano was going to propose.

For an entire year there were no traces of the both of them, they had eloped. Until one day she Woke up and couldn't find A trace of Giovanni anywhere, it was as if he vanished into thin air, she had no choice but go back home to her parents.

Isabella fell silent at her father's question, all she could do was stand there in tears as her mother ran over to console her.

"Edger that's enough !!.... She's just a child who's bound to make mistakes..... Everybody makes mistakes, so why is she being treated like this because of a minor one? Have you forgotten she's your only child " Florence cried out as she wrapped her daughter in her embrace.

"Minor mistake?.... Did you just call this a minor mistake?, Now I see where she gets her stupidity from. She was this close to marrying into the Rocci family and pulling us out of bankruptcy."

Their business was neck deep in debt and Edger saw the Roccis as their tickets out of it considering that he and chairman Rocci were long time friends. But his fool of a daughter had ruined their chances.

He had to find a way to make sure she marries Luciano or his business would crumble to the ground completely.

"Well that not enough reason to talk to your daughter like she's some pieces of trash."

Of course he didn't expect her to understand, all she knew how to do was spend money lavishly, not bothering how the money was coming in. And she had passed on that trait on to their daughter.

"Get out of my office!!..... Both of you!!." He gritted out in a low but dangerous tone and they knew what would happen if they did otherwise so they both scurried out.

He was going to do all it takes to lay his hands on the vast wealth of the Roccis.
