EARLIER THAT DAY

ROCCI COOPERATION BUILDING COMPLEX

Luciano could hear someone knock on the door of his office and he was sure it was his personal assistant, William.

"Come in" he said without raising his head from his work

Luciano waited for William to state his reason for coming into his office but all he got was silence instead. He casually lifted his head only to see P.A William hobbling like a scared rodent by the doorframe. He looked like he was going to pass out any second from then.

P.A William almost pissed his pants when he saw the cold eyes of his boss staring up at him. Up until now he still wondered how he managed to land a job as the personal assistant to this cold and heartless man because At this point all he could wish for was for the ground to open up and swallow him whole. That was a definition of peace compared to being in the same room with this man.

"Speak!!." Luciano said, his voice as cold as ice sending shivers down PA William's spine.

"Pre... Pre... SiDeNt.... It's t.. the... chairman Rocci... H...he said to inform you t..that you're late for your.... D... Da... Date with Miss Monroe."PA William said with all the courage he could muster.

He knew better than anyone that his boss despised everything that had to do with the Monroes after the incident that took place two years ago.

William would have felt a little sympathy towards his boss,considering how his father have been pestering him to go on a date with her after everything she made him go through, but know one really knew what was going on in his head because he was void of any emotions and one couldn't tell if he needed consolation. Not even his own mother

P A William shuddered in fear when he saw the stern look in Luciano's eyes. It didn't take him half a second to understand it before he fled for his life but not after slipping Luciano's phone onto his desk.

Luciano returned to the documents scattered around his table. If he was angry, nobody could tell. His face never held even the slightest bit of emotions, it was simply, expressionless.

Luciano Rocci was event of the world famous multi-million dollar company. He had the look of a demigod, from his silky black hair that was styled to perfection to his matching thick eyebrows, down to his mesmerizing dark orb that any woman would not help but drown themselves in and his pointed nose, not to mention his sharp, defined jawlines, there was no doubt they were carved by God himself.

His looks were just to perfect for a man as cruel as himself, but he had them anyway.

Luciano leaned back into his chair and slowly raked his hands into his hair.

A frown formed between his brows as his phone began to vibrate against the mahogany desk. He sighed and hesitantly Answered the call.

"Hello Father." He greeted

"Please tell me you're already on your way to the restaurant." Mr Rocci complained

"Still busy. " He replied curtly

"When do you plan on leaving?" He asked. He was already used to his indifferent character, so it didn't bother him.

"Soon." He replied with a sigh.

In all honesty he wished he could turn it down. He would rather stay up in his office and bury himself in work than go on another date with that pretensious woman. He would sell his soul to the devil in order not to see her deceitful face ever again.

" you better not keep her waiting." His father said snapping him out of his daze

"Remind me again father, why you want me to go on a date With that woman after everything she'd made me go through in the past." He said with his tone void of any emotions.

"Oh Luciano!! Let go of the past and focus on the future. She's a changed woman now, She already apologized for her mistakes. Remember all that you shared when you both were together.........."

"Enough Father!!. " He cut him shut abruptly

They both fell into a deafening silence for a few moments.

If only she hadn't ran away with his cousin, if only she had accepted his proposal, maybe things would have been different. But he was thankful she did, her actions just made him see her for who she really was, a conniving and a deceitful little liar.

"Be there on time!!" Mr Rocci stated breaking the silence

"Hmmm" Luciano hummed in response before abruptly ending the call.

He had more pressing issues to attend to, but here he was bothering about a stupid with a the woman he despised with his life.

He hesitantly stood up from his seat, grabbing his phone and his suit jacket, he walked out of the almost empty office.

Making his way to the parking lot, he slipped himself into the driver's seat of his black Rolls Royce phantom. He turned on the ignition and headed for the date.

He just had to sit through this date, which he would make sure to be the last.
