04: Practice Match

Days went by. Today, she is expecting an email from her Nekoma High. She was taking a shoswer when it was sent to her. The first person to view that email was Kuroo, her boyfriend. He was happy for her.

When I got out the shower, I was surprised to see Kuroo's sad expression. I went up to him and asked, "Hey, what's with the expression?"

He pointed at the laptop screen, and I got shocked when I saw the email. I…passed? I couldn't believe it!

Goodmorning Ms. L/N. We are happy to inform you that you have passed the exam for this semester. Congratulations and have a great day!

The email said. I looked at Kuroo, and to my surprise, he kissed my forehead. "See? I knew you'd pass." He said. I looked at him, "It was only because you taught me before the exams," I replied.

His response was a chuckle, "Okay! We are going on a date to celebrate you passing your exam! Whooo!" He yelled. Him smiling is the best thing to see when you just got out of the shower.

I smiled but then I remembered, he has a practice match with Karasuno today. "Hey, I remembered, you have a practice match today, right?" I asked. His expression changed. "Oh, yeah I forgot..." He said, "We'll celebrate on another day, okay?" He added.

"We don't really need to celebrate, it's just little exam, we don't need to, 'kay?" I explained. We didn't really need to since it's just a little examination.

Kuroo was in the shower, while I was eating chips, on the couch, watching shows about mythological creatures. I've been interested in mythology since I was younger.

After I finished my two bags of spicy potato chips, I went to the kitchen to get water. As I was about to walk back to the couch, I saw Kuroo, shirtless and a towel on his lower body. I blushed and looked away. He smirked and kissed me.

"Come on!" Kuroo said as he chased me around the apartment. He wanted to make out with me! NO! I can't and won't! He has a practice match! This guy!

I almost tripped over a slipper he slid as I was busy thinking about how to escape his kisses! I was ready to fall but he used that chance to catch me and kiss me.

"Haha! I caught you!" He said as he pecked my face with kisses. "Mmmmwa!" He added. After flirting with Kuroo for a little bit, I decided to shower too. I wanted to see him practice. Training camp is around the corner. That's a month away.

We went to the the subway and rode a train to their practice court. He greeted his teammates and introduced me as his girlfriend.

"She's your girlfriend?" A guy with blonde hair ends asked. "Yeah, why?" Kuroo answered. "Does she play?" That guy once asked. Kuroo turned at me and has this expression like it's telling me to answer the question.

"What do you mean by 'play'? Like, play video games? Or play volleyball?" I asked. "You just answered my question with a question," he answered. "Play videogames, I meant." He added.

I blinked twice, "Yeah, I sometimes play videogames." I looked at Kuroo, that has this expression telling me to 'Sometimes? Replace that with everyday.' "Sometimes?" Kuroo spoke.

"What type of videogames do you play? And where do you play them?" He asked. "Wait, before you guys exchange usernames, Kenma, let's practice first!" Kuroo yelled. He was at the bench putting on his jersey shirt.

They practiced for 2 hours before having a break. I looked at Kuroo. He looks so determined and focused. I looked away from Kuroo because Kenma was beside me already.

"Let's play?" Kenma asked as he placed down his water bottle to get his switch inside his bag. I brought out mine, and we played. I always bring my switch since I use my phone for other mobile games, texting, and calling.

After their practice, we went directly home. I cooked dinner which was tempura. We ate and showered before heading to bed. I was wearing my purple satin night dress and he just have his boxers on.

I covered my body with our white blanket, while he spooned me and wrapped his arms on my waist. I was about to fall asleep when he blew air in my ear.

"What the hell was that?" I half yelled and half whispered at him. He chuckled and nuzzled his face in my neck. "I love you," he murmured. "So much, Y/N," those were the last words he whispered because he fell asleep.

I moved his arms so I can turn to him and stare at his face. Kuroo Tetsurou, the Captain of Nekoma High Volleyball Club, is my boyfriend? Wow. I moved his face to my chest and rested my head on his head as I caressed his bedhead hair. The day has come to an end.

...(Scene skip) ...

The day of Kuroo and I’s parting for his training camp had finally came. He was wearing his Nekoma volleyball jacket partnered with his pants. He was about to go out the door when he hugged me from behind. "Hey, wait for me, 'kay? I love you." He said and kissed my cheek.

As he turned away, I shouted, "I love you and goodluck!" and blew a flying kiss to him. He turned to me, 'caught' the flying kiss I gave and put it on his lips as if I kissed him. I ran towards him and kissed him on the lips. "You didn't need to pretend, hahaha!" I said.

After that, he left. I was left alone in the apartment. I locked the front door and went to our room to study. It was...quiet—it was so quiet, deafening silence is all I can hear...

I checked my phone to see if Kuroo had texted me and he hasn't yet. Maybe he's still travelling? I studied right after and blasted music on our speakers.

Last Friday Night,

Yeah, we danced on tabletops,

And we took too many shots,

Think we kissed but I forgot,

I danced to the music surrounding me. "This Friday night\~" I sang as I used my hairbrush as a microphone. I jumped up and down as I sang the lyrics.

This isn't so bad after all.
