01: Schoolmates

I walked inside of my new school. I transferred here because my parents live here in Tokyo. I lived a simple life in Miyagi, but now, I'm moving to another city. I don't know what to feel but atleast my parents are around.

I'm currently wearing our school's uniform, my hair is tied in a low ponytail, a little bit of my baby hair falling on my forehead.

I walked inside my first class, I'm a second year student. I went inside, sat down on a chair and waited for the professor to arrive.

It was the first day of school, they said there's an assembly for the clubs at the gym later. After class ended, we all went to the gymnasium to attend to the assembly.

There was already students wanting my number, but I didn't gave them my number. As I walked towards the gym, my eyes on my phone, I bumped into a man. I almost fell but he caught me, his hands are supporting my back. He looks intidimating.

I blinked twice and stood up straight, my backpack fell on the ground, I was about to get it when he grabbed it first and handed it to me.

“Are you new here?” he asked while handing my bag.

I nodded, “I'm sorry. Yes, I am new here,” I looked behind him and saw his friends, “I got to go,” I walked away from him as far as I can.

That was embarassing! I wasn't looking at my direction!

There wasn't any chairs so we just stood there. We were waiting for the emcee to speak, it was so cold in there.

Someone tapped my shoulder, “Hi!” a girl greeted behind me, I looked at her and saw her smiling.

I smiled at her too, “Hi? Do I know you?” I asked.

“Oh! Uhm, I wanna be friends with you!” she said, “I'm Brenna, what's yours?” she shook my hand.

“I'm Y/N.” And exactly, the emcee spoke.

“Today we will be announcing the members of each clubs, if anyone wants to join, go ahead and join. We're currently trying to find a manager for the clubs especially the volleyball club.” the emcee said.

“Y/N,” Brenna said.

I looked at her, “What?”

She pointed at the boys on the stage, I saw the boy I bumped into earlier, “Do you know that guy?” she asked.

I shook my head, “No, why?” I asked.

“He's the Captain of the Volleyball club. He looks cute, right?” she said while pointing at the guy.

“Well, I mean if you-”

“He's cute! You know, you two look more cute together!” she whispered, my eyes widened when she said we 'look cute together'. He might have a girlfriend or something. He looks like a playboy too.

“No, we don't.” I said and faced the front again, “Look at his face, he looks like he has a girlfriend. So don't pair me with him, ever again.” I said.

She pouted, “I was just saing tho! You seem cool!” she said.

“Really?” I chuckled.

She nodded, “Uh-hmm!” she murmured.

“Whatever.” I rolled my eyes.

After that, it was lunch break. Me and Brenna went to the vending machine near the gym because it was the closest, I guess?

She bought milk and I just bought water. We heard some balls squeaking in the other gym so we went there to check. The volleyball club was there. Also the guy I bumped into. He's the Captain, huh?

“Lev!” she shouted which made everyone inside look at us. Even the Captain.

My brows furrowed, “Did you study here last year?” I asked as I turned her direction.

She nodded, “Yes, he's my cousin,” she pointed at the tall dude coming towards us.

“Hi Bren,” the tall dude looked at me and smiled, “Who is she? Your friend?” he asked.

“Yes. I met her earlier, I wanna be friends with her and she was okay with it.” she said while giving the milk box to her cousin.

Then the Captain came towards us too, “Hey,” he greeted and smiled as he looked at me.

I smiled at him too, “About earlier, I'm very sorry..” I said.

“That was fine, I was also not lookin at my direction,” he explained while he wiped his sweat with his towel on his shoulder. I looked at Brenna that was alsmot drooling looking the Captain, I pushed her jaw up because it was gonna fall by looking at the Captain.

“What's your name, by the way?” he asked me while leaning on the doorframe.

“I'm Y/N. How 'bout you?” I asked as I fixed my bag's strap.

“I'm Kuroo, nice to meet you, Y/N.” he smiled at me.

“Nice to meet you too,” then Brenna elbowed me, I turned to her with raised brows, “What?” I whispered.

She smirked at me, “Nothing..” then she smiled and looked at Kuroo, as I looked at him too, he was already looking at me intensely.

I got startled so I brought out my phone and made myself busy by scrolling through it.

Brenna and Lev were talking about something. I caught a glimpse of Kuroo heading back inside and going out again with his phone in hand. Some members also went towards our direction.

“Hey, uhm, can I get your number?” Kuroo asked, at first I thought he was asking Brenna but when he held my chin up, I blushed.

“I said, can I get your number?”

I swallowed hard. I caught a glimpse of Brenna smirking, “S-Sure..” then he let go of my chin. He handed me his phone and I started typing my number.

I handed him his phone back and he walked inside. We left after Brenna finished what she was talking about with her cousin. We apparently have all classes together. But today as just the first day so we didn't do anything yet.

3 weeks went by. I was one of the high honors. Brenna was also in it because we have study dates everytime. But maybe she was also smart?

As we went out the coffee shop we studied in, we saw the volleyball club walking towards our direction, we went back inside the coffee shop because it will be awkward.

Me and Kuroo have been texting since I gave him my number. He always flirts with me. Always. We flirt 24/7, but I understand if that's the way he communicates with his girls.I don't expect him to fall inlove with m because, as I said, he's a playboy. He said he had flings before and he also has one right now.

Then my eyes widened when we saw them enter the coffee shop we were in. They haven't seen us yet, so we pretended to be busy.

“Heyyyyy, pretty,” a familiar voice said. It was Kuroo.
