Chapter 4: The Current Vampire King

Helena Castro POV

I woke up at three in the afternoon when I suddenly remembered that Professor Aniag was given us a take home test, I immediately got up from my bed. I fixed my bed before I sit in my chair in front of my study table and started answering the take home test in my Calculus subject.

I just answered the test until I finally finished it. I had a bit of a hard time answering because that’s Calculus. I stretched my leg and lightly massaged it because of its numbness.

When the numbness in my leg disappeared, I stretched my back. As I stretched out, I accidentally glanced at the clock above my bedside table. I saw it was six o'clock in the evening so I decided to get out of my room and go to the first floor of our house.

When I went down to the first floor, I heard a sound that I think was from mixing the ingredients in the pan inside the kitchen. I could also smell the sautéing of garlic and onion. My stomach growled because of the fresh smell of the sauté ingredients. I hurried to the kitchen and as I entered the kitchen, I saw that my guess is right because my father is mixing ingredients in the pan.

“Father, what are you cooking?” I ask while approaching him.

“I am cooking Sauteed Squash with Coconut Milk and then Fried Blue Mackerel Scads. I'm sure you'll be able to eat more because of the deliciousness of what I'm cooking,” he proudly answered my question while placing the sliced squash in the pan.

“If you still have Blue Mackerel Scads to fry, we will definitely be able to eat that later,” I joked with my father that I even saddened my expression to look convincing.

He stirred first what he was cooking before covering it and placing the ladle he was using to mix what he was cooking on a clean saucer.

He looked at me and said, “Then, tell your stomach to wait first because she will be able to eat later.”

He said that seriously as we stared at each other. Suddenly we burst out laughing because of our madness. We just stopped laughing when we saw that the vegetables placed in the pan were already simmer. Father stirred it again before adding the coconut milk.

“Don't worry my dear daughter, Sauteed Squash with Coconut Milk is almost ready and I just need to simmer it for five more minutes. I'll cook the fish next but I will only fry a few fish. So, I'm sure we'll be able to eat soon,” he said after putting the coconut milk.

“If it takes a while, can I go to the living room to watch television while you cook?” I said as I asked my father for a permission.

He only nodded twice as a sign that he agreed. I went to the living room and turned on the TV. I also opened the DVD Player and then put the CD "Ruler of the Mask".

While I was watching “Ruler of the Mask”, I couldn’t help but marvel at this Korean drama because of what happens to each of the key characters played by some of Korea’s greatest actors.

The story of "Ruler of the Mask" is so good, I can't help but tell what's going on. I can tell myself everything that happens to Prince Lee Sun who is not affected by any kind of poison.

I was already in the middle of what I was watching when Father called me, “Helena, come on here and let’s eat.”

I turned off the TV and DVD Player first before heading to the dining area. I approached the dining table and sat in my chair so we could eat. I just ate food until I realized that what Father had said earlier was right that I would eat more because it was only me who was consuming the food more that had been served.

A few more minutes passed before we finished eating. I put away the plate we used and then washed it while Father went to his room. I’m sure that he will read the documents in his study table again.

When I finished washing our dishes, I went back to watching "Ruler of the Mask". As I did before I turned on the television as well as the DVD Player. It automatically resumed and then I sat down on the sofa.

I was already in the part of this Korean drama when the opponents invaded the kingdom of Prince Lee Sun. His father, the King was killed as well as his mother during the invasion. However, Prince Lee Sun escaped but was caught again by the enemy.

I looked at our antique clock standing on the side of the television and saw that it was ten o'clock at night. I turned off the television and then went back up to my room to sleep because I still have classes tomorrow.

Isagani Castro POV

As had happened before, I looked at Helena again in her room and saw that she was sound asleep. I have thought of visiting the king of Vamperia at their home here in the world of mortals. I closed the door and went out of my home. When I was a few meters away from my home, I used my special ability, making the portal so that I could get to his house faster.

When I arrived in front of their house, his guards saw me and immediately bowed down. Perhaps they knew that I was one of those with noble blood in the immortal world. I closed the portal I had made before entering inside his home.

I sensed the energy of the vampire king and searched which part of his mansion he was in. When I felt the exact place where he was, I started walking again. I walk the path where I feel his energy. I just walked until I felt he was in one of the rooms here in his home. I grabbed the door handle and immediately opened it.

As I entered the room where I felt his energy, I saw him sitting in his swivel chair while reading a book and wearing his emotionless face.

“Why did you come Mr. Isagani? Do you want to let me know something? How is the chosen princess?” he asked in succession.

I was a little amused by his series of questions even though he knew the answer to his other questions. I just stopped laughing when he glared at me so I just answered his questions.

“I have come, Your Majesty because I want to visit you. I would also like to informed you that the chosen princess is in good condition so far,” I answered his series of questions.

“Is that all? You can leave because there is no one guarding the chosen princess,” he said as if he didn't want to see me.

I held my chest as if hurt by what he said before saying, “Ouch! It hurts to know that my godson doesn't want to see me.”

He looked at me without emotion which caused me to burst out laughing. However, that laughter also stopped when he spoke again.

“By the way, Mr. Isagani, it looks like you need to inform the Princess about what is destined for her. I also want you to know that our meeting could be earlier than we expected,” he said while he still had no emotion.

“Then I am leaving because as you said there is no one guarding your princess,” I said to him with emphasis on the word "your" before walking out of that room.

I just took a walk while tracing the paths I had walked before. When I was outside his home, I made the portal again but this time it was back to my house. I went inside the portal and when I got outside of my house, I removed the portal that I made before I go inside of my house. I immediately went in my room and took a rest.
