Chapter 1: Her Best Friend

Helena Castro POV

My father and I are here in the forest for a hunt. I brought my bow and arrow while he brought his medical kit for emergency.

Minutes passed when I saw a deer eating not far away from where I stand, I prepare my arrow and aim it in its legs because I don't want to kill it. After I shot the deer in its leg, I immediately runs toward it.

"Father! Look, I caught a deer!" I said gleefully while he walks closer to me.

When he came close, he removes the arrow in the deer's leg then clean it up. After that, he put some medicine in the wound and wrap it up using gauze.

“That’s great! You caught a deer, ” he also said gleefully after he wrapped the deer's leg.

"Okay, it's time to go home so that you can prepare yourself before you go to school." Father said while he put back all the things that he took in his medical kit to aid the deer's leg.

Father stood up and held his medical kit in his right hand then smile brightly.

"Okay, father." I said as I agree to him.

He put his left arm in my shoulder and we started walking back home. When we're back home, I rushed into my room upstairs then prepared my things.

After that, I change into school uniform before I went downstairs to find my father. Not long, I found him sitting in front of the dining table reading a newspaper while drinking coffee.

I walked towards him and said, "Father, I have to go. It's just thirty minutes before the class start." as I bid farewell to him.

He put down the newspaper that he's reading above the dining table then said, “Okay dear, take care and do your best.”

I just nod my head before I continue walking out of the house.

Minutes passed since I started walking, I am now here in T.U. or Trinchera University. I am currently walking in the hallway to go in the great hall because our principal has something to announce. Actually, we call him head master instead of principal.

By the way, I am Helena Castro. I am the most beautiful goddess in the whole world. Anyway, I am just kidding. But, of course I'm not as beautiful as a goddess and I am also not ugly.

Sometimes I become crazy, wait… it's not what you think, okay? I'm not as crazy as a mental patient. Okay, enough with the introduction because I'm already here in the great hall.

As I said earlier, our Head Master have something to announce that's why I came here in the great hall.

Almost all the students are already here so I went in front of the stage to hear clearly what our head master will say. Besides, I knew that my best friend who has a loud voice that can be a speaker while talking will also come in front of the stage.

Then suddenly, someone called my beautiful name. "Helena!" Someone shouts my goddess's name.

I look back to find who shouted my beautiful name. As I look back, I saw that it was my best friend who has a loud voice like a speaker that just shouted name.

She is Maria Paula De Jesus, my best friend since I started studying here in Trinchera University.

I glared at her until she gets here beside me because she shouted here at the great hall. When she saw that I'm glaring at her, she immediately raises her two hands as a sign that she is sorry.

Seconds has passed, we heard a hem in front of us. All of us here in the great hall look where is it from. We saw that our head master, Mr. Antonio Garcia did hem to get our attention.

"I called you all here in the great hall because I have something to announce. The owner of our school wants to add two more classes for you, students to attend," he said as he started what he wants to announce with a serious and authoritative tone.

“The classes that he wants to add are martial arts and archery because nowadays young people like you are being misled and crime is on the rise,” he said as he continues what he was saying.

The students started to talk with their friends about the classes that just added. While some students like me, smiling like an insane person because finally we can have a one-on-one fight and hit smoothly the target in archery.

"Silence!" Head master said in a loud voice with an angry tone to make some of the students that made noises shut their mouth.

I just came back in reality because of what head master said in a loud voice. I look seriously at head master as he calming himself.

I may look serious outside but to be honest, I am laughing inside because of my schoolmates' whispers that's not really a whisper.

"I have another announcement so it is better to shut your mouth up or else you all will be suspended," head master said as he continues to calm himself.

"Your class schedules will have a change because you will be taking another two classes and it's mandatory," he continued as he started another announcement after he successfully calmed himself.

"Since there is no professor who are specialized in martial arts and archery, we will have new professors and they will be here next week," he paused for a moment before continuing. "Your new class schedule will be done the day after tomorrow."

“Did you all get it? Now go to your classes, ” he said before turning his back at us and left the stage.

I am still standing here in the great hall when I notice that my surrounding suddenly became quiet. I turned around and my world stops, there's no one here anymore except me.

“Wait, where does Paula go?” I asked myself and sigh. "She left me without saying anything." I just said to myself sulking.

Since I am already alone here in the great hall, I started to walk and go to my first class today. I might be late if I stay here a little longer.

When I arrive in our classroom, I immediately sit in my chair. Minutes have been passed and my professor finally arrived.

"Good morning, Class!" our terror professor, Professor Aniag said as she greets us while putting her things above her table.

"Your classes today will be suspended because all of the professors will have a meeting with head master later," she announces in our whole class that made some of my classmates cheer up.

But their happy face change into sad face because of what our professor say next.

“I will give you a take home test and you need to submit it tomorrow. Understand?” she said with a poker face.

Professor gave each of us the take home test. Some of us take the test sadly but some are not because we already expect it. After all of us have the test, the bell suddenly rang as a sign that the classes for today officially ended.

"Class dismisses! You may all go home now." Professor Aniag said as she dismisses our class for today and fix her things before, she leaves the room.

Like my classmates did, I fix my things and put it in my bag. Then, I wear my bag in my right shoulder before I started to walk and left the classroom.
