Chapter 2: The Man Outside the Window

Third person POV

Helena was now walking home. She always does this just to get to school or just to get home because the distance from her home to school is less than kilometer away. Besides, walking is her only way to do exercise and to enjoy the breeze inside the forest.

The forest that she always walking is owned by her father, Isagani Castro. Isagani Castro is a veterinarian but he can also aid human.

They hunt in their forest to test Helena’s skills in archery and they only hunt once a month. Helena will only shoot animals in the part where it will not die. They didn’t kill any animals because they believe that even animals have the right to live in this world.

Using their bow and arrow, they only shoot the animal that they see first in its feet. When the animal that they shoot got shot, Isagani will immediately aid its wound and they will set it free.

Minutes passed since Helena started walking inside the forest, she finally arrived in their house. She entered their house and saw her father in the living room sitting in one of the couches while watching television.

"Good afternoon, Father.” She greets her father before taking his hand and touch it to her forehead as a sign of respect.

"Good afternoon too, my dear child,” her father greeted back. “How’s school? Did something happen that made all the students go home early?” her father asked.

“Our head master made an announcement in the great hall before the classes starts,” she pauses and then sit beside her father in the couch. “The owner of our school wants to add another two classes that the students will attend, that is martial arts and archery classes.” She continued.

“All the professors had a meeting because of that announcement and that’s the reason why I got home early.” She added to her explanation.

“Really? Then come on, let’s eat.” her father said before he turns off the television and stand up.

Isagani walks away in the living room until he got inside the kitchen while Helena follows him. “It’s really good that I cooked our lunch early.” he said smiling proudly.

“Father, may I know what did you cooked for our lunch?” Helena asks her father while she set the dining table.

“I cooked one of your favorite foods, Bicol Express.” Her father answered her question while putting the foods that he prepared above the dining table.

They both sit in front of the dining table before they start to eat. After putting rice and Bicol Express in their plate, they started to eat quietly.

They have a housemaid but they let her have a day off. They called their housemaid Yaya Esmeralda because she is the one who took care of Helena like her own child and took care of her since she was a baby.

After they done eating, Helena cleans the dining table and wash the dirty dishes. When she finished, she walks upstairs and go to her room. When she entered in her room, she immediately changed her clothes before she lay in her bed.

She gets one of her favorite books above the bedside table. The book she gets is entitled “Sold to A Superior Vampire” wrote by Santasantitaniaa.

She fixed herself while still laying in her bed until she feels comfortable before reading the book in her hands. While she is reading a book in her bed, she did not realize that a young man was watching her outside her window. The young man watches her every move as she reads.

Minutes has been passed since she started reading a book, she didn’t realize that she fell asleep and the book in her hands fell in her face. The young man above the tree not far from her window suddenly startled because of that.

At first the young man was hesitant whether or not he would approach Helena and remove the book that fell on her face. But eventually he approached her as well.

From the tree not far from Helena’s window, he used one of his special abilities, the teleportation and teleported inside Helena’s room.

He carefully and quietly approached Helena to avoid waking her up. When he is close enough, he bends slightly and slowly removed the book from her face. When he successfully removed the book in her face, he slowly put the book back above her bedside table and look at her.

This is the second time that he stares in Helena’s beautiful face. Like the first time he saw her, she still has a pearl like skin, natural red lips, and long eyelashes.

He stops mesmerizing when he suddenly heard footsteps. He knew that those footsteps belong to her father that’s why he used again his teleportation and left Helena’s room.

Isagani Castro POV

While I was watching television, I suddenly felt a familiar energy upstairs. I went upstairs to Helena’s room to know who owns that familiar energy. But before I could even touch the doorknob, that familiar energy suddenly disappeared. I just continued open the door and peek into her room.

When I peeked, I saw her sleeping soundly even though it was just noon. I also saw that one of her favorite books is still above the bedside table. Perhaps she was so tired of reading that she immediately fell asleep.

While looking at her, I suddenly remembered the reason why I wanted to train her properly in archery and fighting using hand to hand combat.

She needs to learn and be good in this field because soon, she will need all of the things that I taught her. She will need it even more when she knows her true identity and when her abilities come out.

In fact, she is better at using a bow and arrow than fighting with a hand but she knows it somehow.

Will she accept the truth about her true identity? How would she react when her abilities came out? Will she accept what’s destined to her?

I closed the door of her room quietly so I wouldn't wake her up. I thought of just going back to watching the news in the living room so I started walking back to the living room and sit in one of the couches. But before I sit comfortably in the couch, I felt that familiar energy again.

I traced where that familiar energy come from and now it’s coming from my large garden.

I stand up from siting in the couch and then I started walking outside of our house. I went to my large garden that only less than five meters away from my home. When I got there, I saw the child that I had seen grow up. I saw him sitting on the hammock there so I approached him.

“Why did you get a visit?” I asked question as I approached him.

“Can't you wait any longer?” I added another question sarcastically when I got close to him.

“I can still wait. I just saw the book that she was reading fell on her face so I couldn't stop myself from approaching her.” He said seriously but with a little smile on his lips and ignored my sarcastic question.

I gasped because of that little smile of him. I think he did not realize he just smile and I inadvertently uttered the words, “Love indeed. You just can't help but smile at it.”

The smile was erased from his lips and he looked at me wickedly because of what I said. I was about to speak when he suddenly disappeared.

Maybe he still has something to do so he leaves. However, I laughed at the reason that I could think of. He may also have been affected by what I said.

I couldn't help but tell myself, “I miss being young.”

I walked back to my house and went straight to the living room to watch the news on television again.
