Thirst

Grace got out of the car but stood there hesitating. She grabbed a cloth out of her bag and hurried to the boy. Again hesitated for a moment before leaning on him and pressing the cloth on his wound. The boy was no longer feeling pain, he was so happy to be so close to her. But she was feeling strange, she was so cold and her eyes were hollower, cold and darker than ever. She was so close to him. His face just inches away from him. But the air between them was cold somewhat eerie. His eyes were searching her face and stopped at her lips, dark red and at the very moment everything and every thought vanished. He wanted to kiss her. He felt his body out of his control and slowly he leant closer to her face and she looked up from the wound and there faces were too close that the noses were almost touching. At the millionth part of the second, be realized what was there deep in her eyes all this time. It was thirst, hunger. And at the millionth part of the second, in a blink of his eye, he felt a sudden pain on his chest and next he was lying far away from the car and through his dizzy, closing eyes he could see the silhouette of Grace. She was holding her hands tightly in a fist and apparently fighting an urge to come towards him which he prayed to happen but the next second she sat in her car and drifted away. Now as her reality distortion effect had worn of, he came to his senses. Something was wrong. Something had happened. He was shivering now and was thinking what had just happened and just the bare thought sent chills down his spine. He fell unconscious on the ground.

He found himself in a very dark jungle. It was so dark that he couldn’t make out any details of his surroundings. He tried to walk in a direction not knowing either it was a safe path or not. Suddenly he heard a scream from a distance but it was loud and painful. He was afraid to hell himself but still managed to slowly move in that direction. There was tiny bit of glowing blur light in a distance and then after a few steps , his eyes met the most horrible scene he had ever seen. He saw a hooded figure leaning on a body which looked lifeless. The figure left the body and got up, he didn’t notice him and walked away, vanishing into the dark. Clay gathered his remaining guts and moved towards the lifeless body. He sat beside the body and he could see its neck which was bleeding and there were two tiny holes on it. He was horrified and got himself pissed. Then with his shivering hands he grabbed the body and turned it to see the face and ‘ARGHHHH!!’. It was somehow his own body...
