"What about Lily's parents? Were they... able to survive.? Asked Olivia helplessly.
" I'm really sorry " Mrs.Mary kneeled before Olivia and whipped her tears.
"How did they... Accident, how did the accident happen? " asked Olivia while chocking.
"In the morning, there has been an explosion in the highway. The Police doesn't suspect is as a terrorist attack... Only a car was involved and there doesn't seem to be any damage to the surrounding as well. The cause of the exploration is still unknown. And... four bodies were found after the seen. Tough the victims was quite altered, they had been identified as... "Mrs.Mary couldn't bring herself to say the rest.
" But" Olivia cut in desperately. "They went on separate vehicles, how did they end up in the same car... And isn't this way too fast?
How can someone identify a body that is suppose to be burned this quickly. They must be mistaken...right, mistaken... I want to call them, NOW !" demanded Olivia. She was breathing heavily as she tried to pull herself together.
The teacher was helpless. She could understand the shock this child is going through. She just handed her phone to Olivia.
Olivia dialed to her mother, father and Lily's parents too, but nobody answered. Suddenly she felt really lonely.
"Evidence," suddenly she said. "Do you have evidence? How could you believe..."
"Unfortunately I have" said Mrs.Mary.
"Show it to me" said Olivia with a pale face. She was sweating quite badly now.
Mrs.Mary's eyes widened. Then she said with a softened shaky voice, "You are very brave my child, but I rather not show it to you."
"Did you expect me to believe such a terrible thing without evidence?" Olivia could barely control her anger.
"You said it yourself, that they were..."
"It was a stupid dream!!!" yelled Olivia.
Mrs.Mary hesitated, she had a warning look that said you-regret-this. But,
"Please, I'll be fine." said Olivia looking at her shaking hands. Mrs.Mary took her phone and open up a video. Olivia took it hesitantly,
It was the breaking news on a channel called 'Siresa'. Olivia didn't understand the part where the repoter talked in Sinhala or Tamil but she definitely understood when he reported in English. He reported exactly the same thing what the teacher told her.
The reporter clearly mentioned the victim's name to be their parent's; Thomas Claimon, Freya Claimon, Michael Reddwind and Margaret Castor.
The video showed a clip of the seen. Olivia couldn't see clearly enough to make out the bodies because they were blared. But she could recognize the car very well.
It was the white Volkswagen car, her father rented when they came to Sri Lanka.
It was horrible. Olivia couldn't have the slightest hope that her parents might have survived. The car was twisted like it was made out of clay and the bonnet was still on fire when the video ended.
