Chapter 3 : Looking for work

Hansen was about to leave, but suddenly he heard screams from his sister's room being treated.

"P-please don't take out the respirator, doc! I promise I'll pay for it later!" Hendra begged while crying.

"Your bills keep piling up. Our hospital is not a charity. I'm sorry sir, but I could be fired if I insist on handling it without the hospital owner's approval," explained the doctor.

Hansen's father immediately prostrated himself and begged, "Please, doc! Give me the leeway to pay the bills!”

“I am not the owner of this hospital, sir. His orders were not to provide any more treatment if the previous fees were not paid! After all, look at his condition now! He is currently in critical condition and his condition is getting worse every day!”

"Take it out! Take it out if you dare!" cried Hansen who was already at the door.

Hansen showed his cell phone and played back the recording of what the doctor had said earlier. He threatened the doctor, if he dared to cut off his breathing apparatus, the tape would be distributed and he would sue the hospital.

Unable to say anything, the doctor gave up. He said that he would meet the hospital owner and tell him everything to ask for concessions for the Hansen family.

After Cindy's critical period had passed, Hansen immediately said goodbye to his father. Not to forget, he gave all the remaining money to take care of Cindy's needs.

"I have to get this job," Hansen muttered as he continued to walk. He left the hospital penniless. Only with his feet and a newspaper in his hand.

Incidentally, the location where he worked was not far from the hospital. In the newspaper, it was written that his vacancy was at a five-star hotel called Hotel Permata.

As the name implies, the hotel looks majestic and shiny like a gem. He entered the hotel without hesitation. He immediately stepped closer to the receptionist and stated his purpose.

The receptionist girl immediately called the head of security and asked if Hansen was qualified to work there.

Out came a well-built man, the head of security. He looked at Hansen from head to toe, assessing the physique of the man in front of him.

"So you want to work as a security guard here?" he asked.

"Yes, I am ready to be a security guard here!"

“How good are you at fighting?”

"I'm confident in my fighting abilities. If you want, we can spar for a while. I don't mean to be arrogant, but if I'm honest, I can beat you easily."

The head of security was silent for a moment. As someone who had worked in his field for many years, he had a good eye for judging a person's physical abilities—and he could tell that Hansen was good at fighting at first glance.

The question was just a test to assess Hansen's character. Is he a confident person or not and so on. Then, the man said, “Okay, you are accepted to work here. Don't be late tomorrow morning, okay?"

Hansen could only be silent because he couldn't believe it, "Eh, just like that? I was accepted? You're not joking, are you, sir?"

"Of course not! Who's kidding anyway! If you ask again I'll change my mind," the head of security teased.

"Wait... wait! Don't change your mind. Please still accept me as a security guard here," said Hansen reflexively bowing his body.

"Aih, it turns out you can bend too, huh? I thought you were a snob for daring to say something like that."

Hansen did not expect that his first attempt to find a job went smoothly without a hitch. However, he didn't want to worry about it because he needed money for his sister's care.

After receiving confirmation that he was accepted for the job, Hansen was told to come back the next day because the new security guard uniforms were not yet available.

Hansen also had no other choice but to wait for tomorrow.

At that time it was exactly 12:00 noon. But because he had no money left, he was forced to hold back his hunger while walking back to the apartment.

On the way, Hansen stopped his steps right in front of a famous cafe. He stopped because he saw the post that the cafe was promoting a new product where everyone could drink a cup of coffee for free. Hansen immediately approached the cafe because he was interested in the promotion.

However, unexpectedly, just as he had just taken a sip of his coffee. Suddenly his mood went sour. He saw Andini sitting with David, who clearly had bad intentions towards Andini.

Hansen looked at Andini with contempt and disgust because of this. He was so annoyed and irritated to see Andini silent when David rubbed his foot against Andini's.

Just as Hansen was about to leave, his cell phone suddenly vibrated.

Hansen immediately looked at the phone. He was surprised by a short message sent by Andini.

125 million.

That's what was written in the short message. The message also explained that Andini wanted Hansen to sit with her and David in exchange for 125 million.
