Waiting- 3

Ugh, what time is it? I grab my phone, "9:30" and a bunch of missed calls from Carla.

"Oh my god! I was supposed to leave early and head back to work 3 hours ago!" I say as I rushed out of bed. I grab a t-shirt and pair of jeans. I quickly put them on and head to the bathroom. Ew gross, my makeup from last night. Ugh my hair too. I remove my makeup and brush my hair out, throwing it up in a ponytail. I quickly brush my teeth and do a touch of mascara and blush.

I rush downstairs, I grab my shoes and put them on.

"Olivia? Where are you going?" I hear my dad shout from the living room.

"Uh I need to go to work, I can't leave Carla alone." I say as I grab my car keys. "I'll see you guys!" I closed the front door and run to my car. I immediately call Carla. "Carla, hey. Sorry I'll be there shortly. I didn't expect to sleep in this late."

"I understand, we're not that busy this morning. But guess who came by this morning...?" I could hear her laughing as I zoned out.

I totally forgot, we are going to get married.

"No, we're not going to talk about him."

She stopped laughing, "Wait-what? I thought you liked him...?"

"I d-do...I'll just tell you when I get there, ok?" Tears began falling down my face.

"Ok, drive safely." She hung up. I started the car and drove off. Those words he said to me last night, "I have no feelings towards you." "I will never love a woman like YOU." they kept repeating in my head over and over again.

I wipe my tears and turn on some music, hoping it would help me forget about him.

An hour and thirty minutes passed, I pull up and park in front of the bakery. I took a big sigh before grabbing my purse and phone. I got out of my car and walked inside.

"Vi!! You're finally here. There's a huge birthday party online order that just got placed in." She said as wiped her forehead, leaving a trail of flour.

I laugh, "Carla, there's flour on your forehead. You must be working hard back there!"

"Well yeah! I've been running all over the place, right after I ended the call there was a lot of customers. Thank god you're here to help!"

I should hire more people; I didn't expect us to get this busy. We just opened a few months ago. I'm glad to say business is going well.

"Olivia? Is there something wrong? Earth to Olivia...Olivia??"

What if I see him today? What do I do? I should just hide in the back all day. I'll take care of the cake orders in the back, yeah, I'll do that.

"Olivia!" Carla shouts, realizing I had zoned out.

"Oh god! I'm sorry, what were you saying?" I say as I shook my head.

"Never mind, we should just start on the cake order." She walks to the back.

I followed, "Carla, do you mind if I work on the cakes? You can help customers, I can take care of everything back here."

"Uh- You sure?"

"Yes, you can take a break."

"Ok then!" She walks to the front and restocks the cupcakes.

It was 12pm, I needed to get these cupcakes and cake done. They were coming to pick up the order at 3:30. I grab the ingredients and quickly mix up the batters. I poured them into the pans and pre-heat the oven. I stood by the counter waiting till the oven beeps.

How will his girlfriend react that we are engaged? She already hates me, she's going to hate me even more.

The sound of the ovens beeping ruined my thoughts, I grab the cake pans and popped them into the oven. While the cakes were baking, I made the frosting. I looked at the security cameras often, hoping each time the bell chimes it wasn't him.

20-25 minutes later, I took out the cake and cupcakes out of the oven. I let them cool completely on the rack. I played around with the frosting, mixing it around over and over again. I checked on the cakes and they were cool. I started decorating, I had forgotten about him. Everything.

By the time I was done decorating it was 3:00. I packed up cake and cupcakes and put them in the box. I put them in the fridge for now. I came out to the front and said, "Hey! I'm done. Was it busy?"

She moved her book from her face and said, "Nope. I was able to read 15 chapters for the past hour." she chuckled.

"Really?" I smirked at her, putting my hands on my waist.

"Yup and I'm going to take a walk outside for a few."

"Ok, be back soon..." I say as she walks out.

I sigh, walking to the back. I was going to go wash the dishes I made. The bell dings, I wash my hands and say, "I'll be right with you!"

I dry my hands and walk out. "Hi! Welcome to Vi's Bakery, how can I-" Her and another man. Why was she here with another man? Does Liam know? Should I say something to him?

"Yes. I know you two are engaged...but this man right here is the love of my life. Liam told me it all last night when he came to my place. Little does he know I'm only using him for his money." She smirks pulling him closer.

Gold digger. Just like his father said.

"Well, I hope he doesn't figure that out soon." I scoff.

"Bitch, he will never believe you. He loves me. Not you." She says pointing a finger at me.

"We'll see. Maybe your relationship will end faster than our marriage." I pack up the cupcakes and hand it to her.

"Here, a treat from me. There's no need to pay. After all I do have a secret of yours." I raise an eyebrow.

"You!" She grabs the cupcakes and storms out with her mystery lover.

I cannot believe that. How does Liam not know? Is he that clueless? C'mon he's a CEO!
