Chapter 2

After thinking it through, she took out her phone and dialled a number.

"Hello ? Police ?" She said in her broken voice.

"Yes madam, tell me what happened ?" Answer a male officer. She felt uncomfortable while talking to a male officer so she asked for a female officer. The male officer called the incharge of that station who was a female and had a strong personality.

As she answered the call the girl broke out in tears. She was in no condition to answer any questions of the female officer. The officer understood that it might be a sort of rape case. She asked her subordinates to trace callers location. The officer traced the location of the caller along with her name.

The named showed - Poorvi Tiwari. The female officer head to the location given by her subordinate along with a few more officers. When she reached to the place, she saw a man's dead body lying on the ground and a girl sitting on the ground buried her face in her folded knees and hands and crying. The female officer gave a glance to other officers who came along with her and walked towards poorvi. As she reachednear her, she bent down, caressed her head and called her "poorvi?

The girl looked up to the officer, she was glad that it's an officer not anyone else. When poorvi looked up, the officer realised that her top was ripped off. She signalled the person behind her to bring her scarf. Poorvi hugged the officer and cried even more as soon as she saw her. The officer gently patted her head to calm her down.

An officer brought the scarf along with a bottle of water. The officer tooked the scarf and wrapped around poorvi. After she calmed down a bit, the officer offered her water. She drank half of the bottle.

"Are you okay now?" Asked the officer in a gentle tone. Poorvi gave her a nod. The officer sighed and continued "if you feel alright then can you tell me what happened here ?" Poorvi looked at her and told her everything in her broken voice.

The officer ordered to take the dead body and sent poorvi back to her home. She asked her to rest at home for a few days and give her a call if anything happens. And left for the station.

The officer reached the police station and was in her cabin sitting on the chair and thinking for hours. Her working hours completed quite a while ago. Finally a watch gaurd came to check on her and asked if she is all right and reminded her about time. She asked him to bring out all files on rape cases. She went through all the files until morning, after finishing up she thought alot about it.

Early in the morning, she went home to freshen up. She got ready in her uniform as usual but it was different, and the difference was that today she had meeting related to yesterday's case. She prepared herself for the worst, but she ought to not let poorvi suffer anymore. Yesterday was already hard enough for her. She went to the commissioner to talk about it along with the forensic doctor who was incharge for the autopsy of the dead bodies.

She told everything what happened yesterday and then the doctor handed the autopsy results to the commissioner. What poorvi said was indeed true that the man was killed because of the pen pierced in his throat. But they lacked evidence that he tried to rape her. The commissioner asked the lady officer to get more information related to this case so the girl could get justice.
