Episode 3: The First Test

U.A High, School Field 8:45 AM

"What's happening with those two?" A frog-like girl asked looking at a girl with long black hair. The girl looked at them and knew who they were, "The one with the red and white hair is Shouto Todoroki and he got in through a letter of recommendation. The one in front of him with the orange hair is Y/N Takahashi. He scored the highest in the entrance exams making him a strong student." Everyone's eyes were on Y/N and Todoroki but they didn't care, they gave death stares to each other. "That's unfair you can't expel one of us, we worked so hard to get here," A voice spoke up and everyone glanced at the girl that said that. Aizawa looked at the girl, "Oh and you think the world is filled with fairness?" The class froze in both confusion and astonishment causing everyone to question Mr. Aizawa. "Do you think life-threatening disasters are? Power-hungry supervillains? Catastrophic incidents that can destroy cities? No, the world is filled with unfairness and it's a hero's job to go against that unfairness. You all are here to be pro's and to be a pro you need to learn to push yourself to the edge. U.A will throw many atrocious hardships at you for the next three years, so go beyond...plus ultra style. Prove to me you deserve to be here and it was no mistake you were enrolled in the hero class." Aizawa spoke in a monotone voice but everyone was utterly speechless to the things he said. Everyone was fired up and determined as every student had their own thoughts to succeed. Bakugou snickered and stretched his arms and Aizawa was finished, "Enough talk, we're wasting time already. Let the games begin." Aizawa stood back watching the students do the first test and he watched as Aoyama used his naval laser to get to the end of the track. "This allows me to see what their quirk is and it tells me what they can and cannot do." Aizawa saw Takahashi and Kirishima were next and at the bell, both Y/N and Kirishima bolted down the track but Y/N reached the end first. "5.3 seconds," The robot called and Y/N wiped sweat as Kirishima reached the end as well. "7.4 seconds," Kirishima looked at Y/N, "Your fast Y/N, you didn't even use your-" Y/N walked away and Kirishima was left hanging and Ashido was trying not to laugh.

"He didn't even notice you," Ashido blurted out, Kirishima and Ashido were walking together to reach the other students. "Y/N's just determined that's all," Kirishima answered quickly trying not to feel embarrassed, Y/N stood off to the side stretching seeing they still had 7 more tests to go and they were moving on to the next test, grip strength. Ashido stood with Kirishima and she noticed Y/N was acting different ever since the interaction with Todoroki. "Y/N is pretty hardcore but with what Mr. Aizawa said. One of us is going home so everyone is bringing it." The students continued as Aizawa took notes marking each student's performance.

Later that day...

Y/N P.O.V

The tests have been tough but nothing I'm new to, everyone seems to be doing good but to be honest Midoriya hasn't been doing so well.  Were on the 5th test and Midoriya has bombed the other 4. I thought I needed to worry about him but at this rate, I should just focus on the other students. Bakugou may be the embodiment of rage but he's skilled with that explosion quirk. His quirk has helped him pass a couple of the tests, Yaoyorozu is doing good too, and Todoroki is doing alright even though he's not using his quirk. I haven't used mine either but the tests we been given are reflected on our strengths and weaknesses. Mr. Aizawa seemed harsh at the start but I can see what he's trying to do. Good thing I've been through similar tests with Griffin and Vertigo. I'm just waiting for my name to get called for the ball throw test.

"Takahashi your up," Aizawa called and the students watched as Y/N stepped out of the line and he entered the circle. Y/N picked up the ball and aimed his arm back and the students watched as his arms glowed and when he swung his arm lava fused with the ball and when it caught air the ball went flying. Aizawa viewed the counter, "He used some lava with the air to propel the ball. An excellent way to minimize your quirk, clearly he has had previous training, unlike the others. He scored a high number and yet he didn't use his quirk at maximum strength." Aizawa turned the device around and the class saw 725M." Y/N walked away joining the group and Bakugo scoffed, "That was crazy, his quirk is lava just like Magmar. That is so-" The blonde boy winced in pain and Kirishima saw a girl with earlobes shock the boy with sound.

"Quiet Kaminari Mr. Aizawa told us to be quiet," Jirou hushed,

"You didn't need to do that Jirou," Kaminari rubbed his shoulder still in pain from her attack and then Midoriya approached the circle and stared at the ball. Y/N watched as he stood with Kirishima, "Midoriya needs to pick up the pace or else he's gonna end up last," Iida commented and Bakugou looked at him angrily. "Of course he'll be last, he's a quirkless loser,"

"Huh, he has a quirk."

"What are you talking about," Bakugou questioned confused,

"I'm not one to agree with the pomeranian over there but Midoriya hasn't used his quirk at all. Bakugou is saying he's quirkless, but if that was the case how did he even get in?" Y/N thought to himself. Midoriya was ready to throw but when he threw it they saw the ball didn't even go that far. Y/N looked at Aizawa and shortly the whole class was in shock and Midoriya's eyes widened. "I erased your quirk," the class saw Aizawas scarf started levitating and his eyes were red. "The judges for the exam were not rational enough, someone like you should never be allowed to enroll in a school like this." Midoriya saw those googles and he knew, "You're Eraserhead, the Erasing Hero. You can disable people's quirks." The class started whispering hearing about Eraserhead but only some of them knew him. "Not much people know about him since he stays away from the media and works in the shadows." Y/N thought knowing who Eraserhead was and how strong he is.

"You are not ready, you don't have control of your power. Were you planning on breaking your bones and wait for someone to save your useless body." Y/N paused hearing that because there were rumours going on about a student that destroyed the giant robot in one hit leaving his body broken. "Wait, was Midoriya that student then?" Y/N thought in his head as the class was speechless. "No, that's not what I was trying to-" Eraserhead's scarf went flying and pulled Midoriya closer till they were face to face. Midoriya gulped in fear seeing those beating red eyes and seeing how scary Eraserhead really was. "No matter what your intentions are, you will just be a liability in battle. You have another passion and drive of another hero I know, one that saved 1000 people all by himself and became a legend. Even with that drive, you're useless if you can only land one punch and be done...Sorry Midoriya but with your power, there is no way you can become a hero."

The class didn't know how to react and Aizawa let go of his hold and closed his eyes and when he did so his hair went down and his eyes weren't red. "I've returned your useless quirk, go ahead and make your final throw," Aizawa advised in a monotone voice, some of the students tried to learn each other's names. Kirishima, Bakugou, Iida, Uraraka, and Y/N were all together watching to see how things go down.

"What do you think Mr. Aizawa said to Midoriya?" Kirishima asked Y/N.

"Probably to go pack his bags," Bakugou answered,

"He still has a chance," Y/N commented,

Midoriya stood there and by his face, it looked like it was over for him and Aizawa was applying eyedrops. Y/N saw Midoriya clenched his fist and in a matter of seconds, Midoriya's face changed and he looked determined and he looked fierce. Y/N watched as Midoriya's hand went back ready to make the throw. He was about to let go, but then Midoriya's fingertip glowed and a huge wave of air propelled the ball far. Bakugou's jaw dropped to the floor as the class was shocked to see what Midoriya just did. Aizawa looked down seeing the ball landed at 700.5M. "Mr. Aizawa, you see," Aizawa noticed Mirdoriya had a broken finger but Midoriya smiled clenching his hand. "I'm still standing," Midoriya said proudly and Aizawa smirked seeing that.

"He threw it 700M," Kaminari commented sounding amazed,

"YEAH! he's showing us his true power," Uraraka cheered,

"Yes, but it seems he broke his finger, just like in the exam. His quirk seems odd" Iida noticed,

"His quirk causes injury to himself, how strange." Y/N thought,

Kirishima smiled but he looked at Bakugou seeing he was shocked but his expression changed to rage, "HEY!!!" Bakugou shouted using his quirk to get close. The class didn't react fast enough and Midoriya's eyes widened. "DEKU YOU BASTARD TELL ME HOW YOU DID THAT OR I'LL KILL YOU!!!" Bakugou yelled. Before Bakugou could land a hit Aizawas scarf grabbed Bakugou's body and he couldn't move. They saw Aizawa's eyes were red again, "Stand down, I wish not to use my power so much. It gives me serious dry eye."

"BUT IT'S SO COOL!!!" The class shouted watching things go down, Aizawa let go and looked at the class. "Next one can go up we still have some tests to do," Aizawa walked away as Midoriya ran to Iida and Uraraka. Bakugou stood there angry as the next student went ahead and continued the tests.

After all the tests...

Aizawa faced the class seeing everyone looked tired, "That was the last test and I have final results. I'm going to display the board so you can all see where you stand. I assume you already know where you stand but you can see for yourself." Aizawa clicked a button on his device, and a hologram of the leaderboard popped up and Y/N looked at the board seeing the top 5 students.

Y/N looked at the bottom of the list and everyone in the class noticed Midoriya was last place and Y/N smirked seeing Mr. Aizawa's face. Midoriya's knees hit the ground feeling broken, "And I was lying, no one is going home," Aizawa just blurted out causing everyone to be silent. Y/N smirked, "I thought everyone knew he was lying," Y/N thought. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop and Midoriya looked like he was going to have a heart attack. Aizawa gave a cunning smile, "It was just a rational deception so you all gave it your best." Most of the class shouted in shock because of the scare Mr. Aizawa gave them. "I can't believe you guys didn't know, I should have said something," Yaoyorozu commented feeling bad. Everyone sighed in relief and Aizawa looked at the class, "We're done for today, head back to the class and grab a package and read it over. Now take this Midoriya and see the old lady." Aizawa handed him a slip as he walked away and the rest of the class broke off talking to learn everyone's names. When Aizawa was alone he saw All Might, "So he was watching," Aizawa thought as All Might wanted to speak with Aizawa in private about the tests he did today.

Y/N shook hands with Kaminari and smiled while Kirishima stood back curious, "Y/N seems totally different now. He's friendly and kind now but during the tests, he didn't even want to talk at all." Kirishima walked over and greeted Y/N, "YOU WON THE BATTLE!!! BUT YOU WON'T WIN THE WAR!!!" Bakugou shouted at Y/N before storming off. Sero rubbed the back of his head, "He's really intense," Kaminari sighed. "You can say that again," after some time they all went their own ways.

U.A Front Entrance...

Vertigo and Griffin sat in the limo waiting and they saw Y/N walking with three other students and he smiled. "You see that Vertigo," Vertigo looked and he saw a smile on Y/N's face as he was talking to a boy with green hair, a boy with glasses, and a girl was with them as well. "Deku it is," Midoriya blurted out and both Y/N and Iida looked surprised. "I thought you said Bakugou calls you that as an insult," Y/N commented. Deku covered his face trying not to blush as Uraraka smiled. Deku looked at Y/N seeing he was talking with Iida, "Y/N seems like a friendly person but I still remember the way he looked at Todoroki earlier." Deku thought as they reached the gate and they all were surprised.

"Woah that's a big car," Uraraka said amazed seeing the vehicle. "Actually that's a limo, usually celebrities ride in those. I wonder who's here?" Iida asked. Y/N sighed, "That's my ride actually," they all looked at him amazed seeing he got a limo. The door opened and Griffin came out and Deku took out his book quickly, "Your Griffin the Bodyguard Hero," Deku was being a fanboy as he was meeting with Griffin. Y/N thought it was amusing how Deku, Uraraka, and Iida reacted. Y/N noticed his new friends were tired from the training Aizawa put them through. Y/N looked at Griffin, "Hey can we give my friends a ride?" Deku, Iida, and Uraraka were surprised Y/N asked. Griffin paused but when he looked at the three kids he saw they were giving puppy looks. Griffin knew Magmar would not want this but he saw Y/N was happy and he nodded saying yes. Iida, Deku, and Uraraka bowed at the same time thanking Y/N and Griffin, "Come on guys don't act so formal." Griffin watched as Y/N was smiling talking to these friends he's made.

Griffin opened the door and welcomed them in and Y/N was the last person to get in. When Griffin sat inside he heard Deku fanboying again, "Your Vertigo, the Shutdown Hero. This is crazy, two pro heroes apart of Magmar's agency. Griffin can create stone warriors and he's known for his combat skills. Vertigo has the power to send impulses and can cause some serious internal damage." As Midoriya was being a fanboy Y/N turned around and pressed a button to roll the window up and Vertigo smiled but when it closed he dropped it and looked pissed.

"What the hell Griffin!? You know we can't invite strangers into the limo," Vertigo recalled,

"Come on Vertigo their not strangers...their Y/N's friends. Plus Y/N is enjoying his time at U.A and he's been making so many new friends, just let him have his fun this time." Vertigo saw Griffin was begging with a puppy dog face and Vertigo rolled his eyes, "Stop it with that face, I'll let it slide this time," Vertigo put his hands on the wheel seeing Y/N entered Deku's, Uraraka's, and Iida's addresses already.

"You're cleaning the Limo tonight then," Vertigo commented,

"No Problem," Griffin replied as the Limo left the school,

In the back Deku, Uraraka, and Iida were all amazed as Y/N was explaining everything about the Limo. "Well this is kinda odd since I usually don't have to explain things but as you can see the Limo is filled with snacks, drinks, and video games. Usually, we travel far on weekends so the Limo has a bunch of goods to make the road trips more bearable." Uraraka exhaled in relief feeling how comfy the seat was and Iida was intrigued by the heat the seats gave off and Y/N  laughed a little seeing this was their first time in a Limo.

"Feel free to take any snacks and drinks," Y/N advised,

The three students thanked Y/N grabbing some snacks and drinks. Deku grabbed some M&M's and Y/N looked at Deku, "Midoriya, is it true? Are you the one that beat the huge robot in one punch at the entrance exams?" Deku looked at Y/N, "Well...uh...yeah," Deku stuttered and Y/N smiled, "Wow your really strong then but too bad it hurts your body." Deku laughed nervously becuase he knew he had to keep All Might's secret safe. Uraraka looked at Y/N, "Your lava quirk is really cool, it makes sense why you earned the number one spot in the entrance exams." Y/N glanced at his hand and he smiled, "Yeah, well I'm lucky I got lots of training from pro heroes." Deku watched Y/N's facial expressions and he noticed something... Y/N's happiness he had on his face was genuine. Uraraka smiled and took out her phone turning around to take a selfie. "Okay everyone in, I want to remember this as our first day at UA," everyone smiled and they all heard the click meaning Uraraka got the photo and for the whole ride they talked about UA and Superheroes.

Takahashi Mansion 5:10 PM

Y/N P.O.V

After we dropped off Midoriya the limo was on the way home and I knew I had to get home quickly because my father wanted to train after school. That escaped my mind becuase I wasn't thinking about that. I was thinking about the friends I made at school today, Kirishima, Ashido, Kaminari, Sero, Midoriya, Iida, and Urarka. I hope I can make friends with the other students in my class. The beginning of school was kinda a blur to me, I remember meeting people but when Mr. Aizawa brought us outside my blood boiled seeing Todoroki. I know he feels the same so attending class may be heard when he's there. Overall I had an amazing first day at UA and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Vertigo opened the limo door and when Y/N jumped out he saw Griffin opened the Mansion doors. Y/N took off his shoes and put his bag on the rack and he quickly ran to the training hall and Y/N ran past Suitor. Suitor watched Y/N run to the dojo, "He's gonna be so late," Suitor commented. Y/N stopped seeing the dojo door was wide open and he slowly walked in seeing fire lit around the room. Magmar was sitting in the middle of the room and Y/N kneeled down behind him. "I'm here now father, sorry I'm-"

"Why are you late?" Magmar interrupted,

"I was-"

"DON'T ANSWER!!" Magmar shouted and Y/N gulped in fear as he was dead silent and he saw Magmar stand up and turn around. The lava that flowed in his father's arms and legs was bright meaning he was pissed, "What did you do today?" Magmar asked.

"We did physical tests and our teacher ranked us from best to worst,"

"Did you beat Todoroki?"

"Yes, he got third and I got secon-"

"GIVE ME 100 NOW!!!"

"But father I-"

"SAVE IT, YOU MAY OF BEAT TODOROKI THIS TIME BUT YOU DIDN'T GET FIRST. NOW GIVE ME 100 PUSHUPS AND SITUPS!!!" Y/N quickly got into the pushup stance and started doing pushups. Magmar paced back in fourth, "Don't be confident it's only the beginning, we'll be ramping up your training. I want you ahead so you can smoke them all and get number one in the class." Magmar ranted as Y/N continued to do the workout and in the other room Vertigo sat down hearing it all. "Why did I do it so late?" Vertigo questioned thinking back to what Magmar asked him to do this morning. Vertigo looked at his hands and he had a bad headache, "We don't have much time left,?" Vertigo thought as he took some Advil for his head. Griffin was outside cleaning the limo and usually, he didn't find this fun but today he smiled, "It's crazy to think Y/N's friends were the only other people besides us to sit in this limo. I did hear their names, Midoriya, Iida, and Uraraka. It's good to know U.A will be training the next generation of heroes." Griffin thought as he knew today was a good day, not just for him but also for Y/N. Griffin heard wheels and he turned seeing Suitor roll over to him. Suitor was a four-armed robot and Magmar hired him a long time ago. Griffin wiped his sweat and saw Suitor had a water bottle. Griffin grabbed the water bottle and drank some of the water and placed it down beside him.

"So Suitor what is everyone up to?" Griffin asked as he scrubbed the limo with some water and soap. "Master Magmar is in the dojo with Y/N, Miss Steeless is cooking dinner, but I don't know where Vertigo went," Suitor explained. Griffin put the sponge in the bucket, "I wonder where he went?" Griffin opened the limo and he saw something on the ground and picked it up, Suitor titled his head seeing it was a burnt notebook. "Shall I throw that out sir?" Suitor reached for it but Griffin shook his head no pulling the notebook back.

"This belongs to Midoriya, I saw him taking notes earlier today when he met Vertigo and I," Griffin paused seeing a bunch of notes on heroes and some drawings of them and their gear. "Damn this kid knows his stuff, Mt. Lady, All Might, Eraserhead, there are so many heroes in here." Griffin admired the hard work and he closed the book and set it off to the side. Suitor rolled over with containers and started to refill the snacks and drinks in the limo, Griffin and Suitor closed the doors. "I'll clean up here and do my security rounds. You should head inside and see if Steeless needs help preparing dinner." Suitor nodded and rolled away heading for the doors and Griffin continued to clean up. Far away in the distance, a man watched the Takahashi Mansion and he looked beside him seeing a floating purple creature. "Why are we here Kurogiri?" The man asked.

"Recon for the league," Kurogiri answered but he could tell his friend was impatient,

"Shouldn't we be looking for All Might, not some children," The man questioned,

"Trust us, my friend, these children will be the key to defeating All Might,"

The man sighed as he turned around looking at a portal Kurogiri created. "I'll play your game for now but if it fails, I'll kill whoever I want to kill," Kurogiri paused and smirked, "If that's what you want Blackout." Blackout grinned evilly and they both entered the portal Kurogiri created and they were both gone.
