Chapter - 5

As I completed the story Arius was sound asleep on my right side. When I turned left to check on Ivor he was still awake. Did he not like the story or is there something bothering him.

"What happened Ivor? Don't you feel sleepy or is there anything you want to ask me?" I asked him gently.

"Sister Nia, are you alright now? Does it still hurt?" Ivor said in a child like tone.

"Yes Ivor, I'm alright now. It doesn't hurt anymore. Don't worry these small wounds can't hurt your sister. I'm super strong." I replied and winked.

*giggle... Ivor started giggling and said, " yes sister."

"Now now, you should sleep then otherwise you won't be able to grow tall" I said and patted his head.

*The next day*

* bam* "Who said that Ivor can sleep with you? You dare to take Ivor without informing me, her mother." The Queen burst open my door and was furious and shouted at me.

I thought of waking up with a really great mood seeing my two cute baby brothers beside me but to shake me back to reality and ensuring that my mood is spoilt here is you-know-who.

" Geez! Stop shouting. Have you finally gone insane? Can't see you your own child sleeping soundly here? Have you finally gone insane shouting here in the Gold lair and that too in my bed chambers. Just who gave you the right to burst open my place without even getting the permission of daddy. Are you trying to defy the Emperor’s authority? " I said and walked towards her with every single sentence I said.

I was furious because.... I mean who would want to be woken up like this. Even though I was not loved in my previous life no one actually ever woke me up like this and now I'm a princess and this is my new life, I will not let my this life to be like the previous one nor will I allow anyone to look down on me. Why should I cower? She is in the wrong. I will not let this slide otherwise she will think of me as a no one.

" Just what did you say? I'm here to take my baby away. How can you accuse me of defying emperor's authority? Don't try to put your words in my mouth little princess. I do remember His Majesty mentioning, that no one should come in this room unless he allows it but you deliberately kept My Ivor here yesterday.... Are you perhaps trying to implicate my innocent Ivor? " she replied viciously.

OMG! She is so fluent with whatever she says. I thought I had an opening but she is on a whole different level and she is the Emperor’s lover so she sure will have some strong points to stay in 2nd place of the high society. Well who is the 1st place holder then..... Of course! My mother, the Empress. That being said I just came up with another line.... Wow! I'm truly a genius...I guess..... Hehe....

" Queen mother are you trying to say I'm trying to implicate my little brother, Ivor? Do you perhaps see me as someone so Vicious? I know you don't like me but why are you trying to create a hedge between Ivor and I." I replied looking all pitiful.

All the maid of the palace were standing right by the door and started whispering.

" Oh my! How can the Queen barge inside the princess's bed chamber without informing her prior to her arrival?"

" How can the Queen accuse the princess? How can the Princess think about doing so. She is so sweet and kind to young master Ivor."

"Exactly, why will the princess do so, she is already the crowned princess why would she try to eliminate the 'Young Master' who don't even stand a chance to be the emperor?"

" We all know, the Queen doesn't like our little princess because His Majesty spend more time with the princess than her. "

The maids and servants were whispering loud enough for the Queen to hear all those things.

" YOU..! " the Queen turned towards the door and shouted.

" Get ou... " as she was speaking someone mediated her sentence.

" What is going on here? " with an angry tone the Emperor asked as he approached the door.

All the servants dispersed and made way for daddy to enter.

"What is going on here, my Queen? Care to explain what are you doing here in my palace, I didn't get any prior information of your arrival.... What are you doing in my daughter's room?" he asked in a menacing voice.

I was standing right next to her and daddy looked at me and I remembered that I didn't greet him.

" Greetings to the keeper of peace and glory to the empire. " I bow down slightly.

" You may rise. " he replied.

" Good morning daddy! " I said with a huge smile and dashed towards him and hugged him. I'm small that's why I was hugging his thighs.

He smiled warmly and picked me up and replied," Good morning my darling daughter."

I giggled and kissed on his cheeks. He patted my head and walked towards my bed and put me on my bed.

He turned around and glared at the Queen.

"I don't remember allowing anyone to enter this place without my permission." he said.

The Queen flinched and greeted daddy and said, " Your Majesty, I was just trying to take Ivor with me as he was here since yesterday and would have bothered the princess."

Daddy saw me and then saw Ivor and Arius sleeping on my bed soundly. I smiled at him and he smiled back and said, " I gave permission for their stay. Do you perhaps have a problem with my permission my Queen. "

" No your majesty, how can I ever have any problem with any of your actions..." the Queen replied hastly.

" Then everyone should leave now and my queen, you shall meet me in my office right now. " he said and left.

The Queen followed the Emperor and left even without looking back at Ivor. The servants also left except Rera.

" Almia! Alma! Both of you shall also stay back. " I said in a firm tone.

Almia had hunter green hair and cedar brown eyes. Alma had fossil grey hair and brown eyes.

" Yes princess. " both replied.

" Alma! I don't seem to remember informing the Queen of Ivor's stay. Do you perhaps remember slipping in the information to the Queen?" I asked in a suspicious tone.

" No princess! I never reveal any information regarding you and young master Ivor to the Queen. Even if she asks about it I have always refused to provide her with any information. " Alma said in a panicked way.

She is young and is only 16 this year. She was also one of the slaves I rescued. I never had a doubt about her but the information reached the queen and she is Ivor's personal maid. Same goes with Almia also, who is Arius's maid and is also 16 this year.

" Princess it must be the nanny. She was selected by the Queen for young master Ivor. She is specially wary of you, princess." she said.

"It seems to be the case." I pondered and replied.

"Okay, I won't ask you any further questions. Take Ivor with you and take good care of him. Don't let the nanny lead his astray." I said

"Yes princess." she replied

" Arius! Ivor! Wake up now.." I said in a warm voice.

" Ummmmm..... Sister?" they spoke in a sleepy tone.

How cute! They are mumbling in their sleep.

I smiled and asked Almia and Alma to take them to their rooms. Rera helped me wash up and get ready.

* Emperor’s office *

" May I know the reason for your behaviour back then, My Queen?" the emperor asked.

" Your Majesty, I was just worried about the Princess. How can you question me like so?" the Queen replied in a pouty manner.

The Emperor smirked and said, " Okay, I failed to recognize you worry for the princess. How shall I make it up to you? Should I visit your Palace tonight? "

She blushed and replied," Oh, Your Majesty! It's still morning and you are at it again.. Then I shall prepare for tonight then. "

" Yes, You shall do so." He smiled and hugged her.
