Chapter - 3 The council meeting

* ......knock knock knock.....*

I wiped my tears hastily. My eyes were still stinging. As I said, "Come in.."

The person who entered the room was none other than my father, the Emperor.

I got up immediately and greeted him with one hand lifting my skirt and other on my waist as I said, "Greetings to the keeper of peace and glory to the empire."

" Oh! You may rise.... You just woke up, no need for straining yourself. You should rest well." father said while frowning.

Did I do something wrong? Why is he staring at me like that?

"Father, perhaps did I do something wrong? Oh! Is it about me leaving the dinner in the middle? I apologise for my behavior. I don't think I should have done something so rude in front of father."

He was still staring at me without uttering a single word.

" Call Hibiscus! My daughter is acting weird. She is using such formal words while talking to me and she is addressing me in a very distant manner.... Are you perhaps thinking of taking revenge on me for my decision by doing this? If that's the case you don't need to do this I will still announce you as my heir. "

Oh no I forgot I use to address him as daddy and use to talk to him informally..

" Ye - Yes Daddy! I understand. You are doing everything for my own good. I did what I did in the heat of the moment. And I was talking formally because there are many people here right now not because I want to torment you."

Daddy laughed and said, " Looks like my daughter is being thoughtful. "

I smile and did not replied. The knight who was ordered to bring Dr. Hibiscus was back with the doctor.

" Your Majesty, did you summoned me?" Dr. Hibiscus said. While bowing down.

" What about my daughter's condition? "

Rera and Dr. Hibiscus were shocked as they saw me.

Has her amnesia been cured? If that's the case then, "Your Majesty, the princess is recovering well. She may have a slight headache but other than that she is fine. And she has to eat light food as of now." the doctor said.

" Yes, you may leave now... I will also take my leave, Nia. Have some rest." father said and patted my head.

Everyone left the room except for Rera. As I looked at her.

" Oh my! Why are you crying Rera? What happened?"

" Princess, promise me you will never run on the stairs like that again. What if you were hurt badly. " she said as she started to bawl.

Oh, I really did something stupid didn't I. I shouldn't have done it. I ended up getting hurt. It all happened yesterday at dinner.

At the huge dinning table My father use to sit on the head of the family chair. My mother use to sit on his right side and the Queen on the left. This was, before I was 1 years old. After I turned a year old my father gave me the seat right next to him that was the seat of the Queen. Obviously she was not happy with this arrangement. But what can she do when it comes to the Emperor. Father use to feed me by himself during breakfast, lunch and dinner. After my younger brother, Arius was born, he use to sit right next to me and my younger half-brother, Ivor use to sit next to my younger brother because he wanted to sit closer to me. Well that apart. Before I fell unconscious we were having a peaceful dinner time as usual. But then father said something and that was the beginning of my disaster.

"I will be announcing my heir at the next council meeting of the nobles. My heir will be Princess Nia!" father said.

I chocked on my food and was shocked as if I was struck by the lightning. I told him that I want to live freely. Why is he doing this?

" Your Majesty, how can you make Princess Nia your heir." the Queen shouted. "Oh!... I mean she is only 5. Isn't it too much of a burden for a small child like her." the Queen said trying to cover up.

Of course I know she doesn't have good intentions towards me she is saying this because she doesn't want me to sit on the throne. She wants Ivor to be the Emperor. But that is impossible because he is not given the title of a prince.

" Yaay!! Sister Nia is going to be the Emperor than I will be her Knight and protect her." a huge hug and a kiss on my cheek. Arius was more than happy.

" Ummm... Sister Nia can I also hug you?" in a soft and hesitant voice Ivor was saying in a cute baby like tone.

How can these kids be so cute....

" Yes, of course. Come here." I replied with a huge smile.

He was toddling. He grabbed me and hugged me tight and looked up and said, " Sister Nia, when I grow up I will be your Knight." he smiled brightly.

Awwww! He's so cute.... Should I just hid him somewhere.... Hehehe... Oh! Snap out of it I have to refuse.

" Thank you, Arius and Ivor. Ivor, go and continue your dinner." I said warmly.

" Daddy, I don't want to be the Emperor and you know that. Why are you trying to make me the emperor? " i said.

" Because you have achieved quite a lot of stuffs when you are still 5. The people loves you and they will support you for being the Emperor."

Yeah.... I admit that. I mean I did stock up some achievements. I saved people from slavery which is banned and provide them with proper aid. The minors were admitted to the school for commoners which I opened, those who were above 18 were provided with job and those who were injured were sent to the hospital. My personal maid Rera and her younger siblings were also there when I rescued them and she asked to be my maid although she was 12. I accepted her because she wanted to pay me back. I also got good grades in all my subjects. Whereas Arius use to skip his classes to meet me and use to follow me around and same goes for Ivor.

" But daddy, Arius will become a good emperor and he is so cute and thoughtful. I mean being cute is irrelevant but being thoughtful is relevant don't you think so..?"

Daddy smiled and said, " He follows you around, if this goes on when you will get married in a foreign nation then don't you think he will follow you to that nation too." he said as he was smiling.

" No, why will he follow me there. He will be mature enough to tell right from wrong. "

" Really! Then I will consider to change my decision then, for now go along with my arrangement. " daddy said.

Ugh! This sly man......

" Fine, till then I will not talk to you... You are mean daddy" I replied in anger.

" Princess! How can you talking to his Majesty like that. Apologise to him his instant." the Queen shouted.

" Why are you interfering in our matter Queen mother? This is between my father and I. Daddy did not asked me to say sorry to him and this is not my fault its his fault." i replied.

" You.. " the Queen held back her anger.

" My Queen I don't remember giving anyone the right to scold my daughter. You are scolding her in front of me, even the Empress know that only I can scold my daughter." daddy said in a angry tone.

Hah! How's that Queen mother.. Hehe! Don't mess with me not alone and least in front of daddy.

" Your Majesty, I was just telling her I was not scolding her. How can I bear to scold our precious princess?!" the Queen said, trying to suppressing her anger.

Anyways I have to throw a tantrum otherwise daddy will make me the heir.

" Daddy I don't want to eat anymore. I'm leaving. "

" But you barely ate anything. If you will skip your dinner your stomach will hurt. " daddy said in a caring voice.

I was going out of the dinner hall as I said, " If you actually care for me don't make me the heir. "

I left, tears started to roll down from my cheeks. I was upset and started to run towards my room my vision was getting blurred because of the tears. Huh! Oh no, oh no, * bam* i rolled down the stairs. Rera shouted and ran upwards as i was rolling down the stairs she held me and was saying something. I was not able to listen what she was saying my head was paining and my ears were ringing. My consciousness was slipping like sand.

* end of the flashback *

That's what happened according to my memory. Rera told me after I left the dinner hall Arius and Ivor were going to follow me but daddy stopped them and was going to bring dinner to my room but before that the news of me being injured was delivered and daddy left his dinner midway and ordered the Royal Physician to stay near me until I get better and appointed 2 of his personal royal guards to guard my room and said not to let anyone inside without his permission and not to allow anyone to feed me anything other than Rera.

Well that was expected because daddy loves me more than anything. There is a reason why daddy loves me this much and is possessive about me. My daddy always wanted to have a younger sister and fortunately daddy got a little sister but she was weak since birth and died when she was only 2 years old. Daddy doted on her so much and was devastated when she died that's the reason why daddy wanted to have a daughter and wanted to give his daughter the best and love her unconditional and that daughter is me.

My daddy always suspected the death of his sister but he was unable to gather any proofs hence he lose hope and that was when my mother and father became friends.

Well about my Daddy's marriage I will talk about it later.

" Rera, I promise not to run. Now stop crying I'm fine now.... Will you help me wash up please! I'm feeling unhygienic right now and I think I'm stinking, you are hugging me so tightly don't you smell it." I said as I was consoling her.

She laughed and said, " That's like you princess.. I will prepare rose water for your bath."

Well now this is solved I have to remember as much as I can about this world and draw a plan to survive.

Oh dear! I have so much to do. I'm felling tired just by thinking about it.
