How did this Happen?

I still can't get over it. People are staring at me every time I pass by. I see and hear them. Clara and my boss told me to shrug it off. I was working when a co-worker came to me and offered me a cup of coffee. I thanked him. He introduced himself as Ray. He heard about the incident in my office. I let out a heavy sigh.

Ray said, "Hey, it's okay if you won't talk about it. Just to let you know you are in good hands. Boss and our co-workers will always look out for each other."

I scoffed and said, "How I wish it  is true."

We laughed and shared a smile. Ray left after a few discussions. I continued working.

Lunch break, Clara brought out my favorite.

"Here, this might cheer you up a bit," she said as she gave it to me.

"Thanks, I really appreciate it," I said as I took it from her hands. I always like it when Clara gives me the things that cheer me up. But I never knew that she did something shady to it. I ate it piece by piece.

"Did the cook miss an ingredient?" I asked as I felt something was missing in the meal.

"Does it count that the cook was a bit dizzy?" She asked.

"I guess?" I giggled.

"I'm gonna go for a sec. I gotta go to the CR for a sec." I said as I walked out of my desk.

As I walk through the hallway. I started feeling dizzy. The walls are spinning. I can't think properly. What's going on.

(ALRIGHT TIME FOR NARRATOR'S VIEW AKA ME 😌)

Everly fainted. The hallway where she was now was the hallway near to the staircase, also a shortcut to go on the CR. Nobody was there when she walked in. Since it was lunch hour. Then somebody saw her. It didn't call for help nor look for someone. Instead, it took her to the parking lot and drove the car (not Everly's).

Everly was unconscious. She didn't know what was happening. The person who took her was driving the car like it's just nothing. The car stopped. Everly was carried and was put to bed.

"It's ok now you're safe." The person said as it kisses Everly's forehead.

A few hours later, Everly finally woke up. She saw herself in a king-sized bed. And a bowl of porridge beside her. It doesn't look like Clara's apartment. She tried to take a step but.

"NO STOP!" a person cried out. Everly looked behind her and it was her Boss?!

"S-sir?!" Everly shouted.

"Don't move a muscle! You just woke up from your unconsciousness. Your body is still weak." he said as he put down his first aid kit.

"Sir I deeply apologize for getting you into this," Everly said as she looked at his boss bandaging her ankle.

"It's not a problem. I happened to see you falling unconscious and took you into my villa. And please do call me Manny. Emmanuel is my name but Manny is my nickname." He said as he put back the bandage.

"Thank you, sir," Everly said.

"Here have some porridge. I made it. Don't worry." Manny said as he offered his porridge to Everly.

"Thank you si- I mean Manny." Everly said as she took the bowl.

"Do you remember anything before you went unconscious?" Manny asked.

"All I quietly remember, was me eating the lunch that Clara gave me. And I was walking through the hallway to get to the restroom. And I felt dizzy. And you know the rest." Everly said as she gobbles up the porridge.

"That brat really had the gut to put a drug in her food." Manny muttered.

"Hm?" Everly looked at Manny with a worried face.

Manny left Everly to get some rest. I Everly couldn't put the puzzle up. How did she get unconscious? Was it because of the food? Maybe Clara was right? Maybe the cook was messing up the meal and missed or put too much of the ingredient? She couldn't put it all together. Everly's phone rang, she hoped it was Clara but it was an unknown number. She answered it.

"Hi Everly." the unknown caller said.

"Who is this? And what do you want?" Everly said as she stood up to look for Manny.

"Did you know that in 11 secs a person could die?" It said. (This is researched1 So don’t worry.)

Everly is starting to shiver. She went down the stairs looking for Manny anxiously.

"Ok and your point is?" She said as she was in the middle of the staircase.

"I'm just sharing a piece of advice. Just in case you might be next." The unknown caller said as it laughed.

Everly rushed into the stairs and looked for Manny. She called out Manny but no one answered. She then heard footsteps. Could it be the unknown caller? Manny? Housekeeper? She couldn't breathe right.

"Everly?! Where you???" A person cried out.

Everly's breathing is getting rapid and uncontrollable. She is starting to get anxious. She has never felt this scared. Her whimpers and sobbing are getting louder. She can never get a hold of it. When did she have a feeling of this again?

"EVERLY THERE YOU ARE!" it was Manny!

Everly rushed into Manny and started crying loudly. Manny tried calming Everly down to tell her what happened. She cried like there was no tomorrow.

“It’s ok now, I’m here. Shhh,” Manny said as she calmed down.

A few minutes later, Everly explained everything to Manny as she drank the tea that Manny offered.

Meanwhile, someone is making a big disaster for someone’s marriage and reputation.

“I’m sorry you two~ But I have to get what I want.”

“This b*tch is really making her life miserable without letting her realize.” Manny thought. Everly was still traumatized. How could that caller get her number? Was it just a bunch of kids prank calling?

SFX: Ring Ring

Everly’s phone rang, her heart beating so fast. She checked the number and to her surprise, it was the unknown caller. She answered and put it on the speaker to let manny hear it.

“H-hello?” she stuttered.

“Hi, again Everly. Are you alone? Of course not. Why would you be?” the caller said.

“What do you mean and what do you want?” Everly whimpers.

A rub on the shoulders was felt in Everly’s body. She thought it was Manny but it wasn’t.

“I want you Everly.” a person whispered in Everly’s ear. She gasped and did not see who it was because was immediately hit, making her go unconscious.

“Did you really have to hit her?” Manny scolded.

“I guess.” the person giggled.

“You know you can do the easy way.” Manny snickered.

“I don’t really like the “easy way” cuz in the end you will end up on the cruel road.”

Manny sighed and followed the person.

“You know if you really like her you can just tell me. I can let you marry her. But of course, you’ll have to lend me something in return.”

“I do like her. But I know the thing that I have to give you is impossible for me to give.” He said

“Aww, I just want your brother. How is that so hard for you to give.”

“My brother doesn’t have any interest in getting married.”

Apparently, Manny isn’t the only child. He lives in a house with 3 brothers. The eldest one has disappeared, while the third is still against arranged marriage. His parents are too old to handle the company. Manny is the only available heir to the family, so all power is on him. Manny likes Everly. But he kept those feelings buried under his heart. The person who is using Everly as a weapon to get what it wants was taking it too far.

“I can give you my brother. As long as you won’t hurt her.” he said as they go into the car.

“Business is business so, yes. Deal.”

They both shook hands and drove off to an apartment. Obviously, letting Manny hold Everly for the sake of her safety. They both arrived in the apartment.

(The rest will be convos so no narrating. )

“I hope you are going to corporate. Dave.”

“I will. Can we speed this up?! I have a date to attend. Tch.”

“Oh shut up. Just because you are corporate doesn’t mean you have to push us over.”

“Now now boys. Let’s not forget what’s the real reason."

“Whatever. Let’s just start!”

“No no, we have to wait for her to wake up. The rest haven’t shown up anyways.”

“Why do we have to wait for those f*ckers?!”

“Just tell your sl*t to wait.”

Don’t you dare call her a slut!!! You coward.”

“I am not a coward! I am no playboy as well.”

“WHY YOU-!!!”

“HEY!!! The hell is going on here!”

“Ah~ You have arrived, thank you for working with us.”

“Whatever. Where is the girl?”

“Right here~”

“Alright alright they’re already here so can we start now?!"

“Oh shut up”

“Alright, boys. Get to your places. You all know what to do~”

“Yeah yeah, whatever.”

“Let the show begin~”

Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the late upload I am having a bit of a tight schedule. But I will post in any stories as possible. I hope that you can understand the situation that I am having. At the same time, I cannot work on the stories immediately due to the device I am using (laptop).
