Ch : 5 { A New Morning }

The sun rays were shining through the small gaps between the navy blue curtains.

Haru was lying in his bed with his eyes wide open and staring absentmindedly on the ceiling above. His mind was full of thoughts about yesterday and no matter what he does it never leave his mind.

He was only able to get a few hours of sleep, always tossing and turning in his bed trying to get some rest but to no avail.

After taking a loud sigh, he was just about to get up when there was a knock on his door. He unlocked it to find Yuri wearing her usual smile on her face greeting him.

"Good morning Haru" she said with a polite smile.

"Good morning Yuri" Haru replied with a small smile of his own "Did you need anything? "

"Mr and Mrs Wright asked me to wake you up since it will be time for breakfast soon" she replied.

Haru took a glance towards his wall clock to find it reading 7:15. He took another long sigh before facing Yuri again.

"I will be down in 10 minutes Yuri"

Yuri nodded and left the room while shutting the door behind her. Haru went towards his bathroom to get freshen up and take a quick shower before changing in one of his casual green hoodie and black jeans.

When he came downstairs, Mr and Mrs were already waiting for him on the dining table with Alissa serving them their toasted bread with bacon and eggs. Haru took a seat beside Mr Wright on the other side of Mrs Wright.

While Alissa started serving him, Cedric too came in the kitchen and went straight for the seat beside Haru. He greeted him morning and Alissa started serving him too.

They all ate their breakfast in the usual silence, and once it was finished they all got up to leave for usual work routine.

While Haru was going upstairs to read some books in the library, Mrs Wright stopped him.

"Haru do you have a minute? " she called out to him.

"Sure what is it? " he replied softly.

"Do you know what day it is today? "

"Umm...saturday right? " he said.

"Correct...and I think you already know what it means right? "

"Oh" Haru remembered his conversation with Yuri yesterday that on Saturdays Mrs Wright and Cedric tend to the garden together.

"Yes I know...Yuri told me"

"Great...so...would you join us then. I think it will be a good opportunity for you to get to know more about us"

"I guess so..." he replied with low voice.

Mrs Wright smiled at him and then told to wait for her and Cedric in the garden. Haru went outside while Mrs Wright went upstairs to get changed in her gardening clothes.

After a while Mrs Wright appeared in the garden with Cedric behind her holding a box full of gardening equipments.

"Alright then..." she spoke looking at both Cedric and Haru.

"Since you are new here...i suggest you help Cedric with adding fertilizer in the flowers since it will be easy for you. "

"Okay" Haru nodded.

After Mrs Wright went to trim some bushes in the inner corner of the garden Haru and Cedric started their work on adding fertilizer to the flowers. They worked in silence for a few minutes before Haru asked him something.

"So you like gardening? "

"Hmm...i have been doing since I was 5"

"Really...you don't look like one though..."

"Why? "

"You look more like those who enjoy doing things which involve a lot of dance and party"

"Oh...so is this your way of saying you are interested about me? " Cedric gave him a smirk.

"Well...yeah...i mean I barely know anything about you...so-"

Cedric stopped him mid sentence by pulling him from the waist and embracing him tightly. Haru didn't pulled back but hesitantly put his hands behind Cedric's back. Cedric seemed surprised by this action but didn't said anything.

After what seemed like hours they pulled away from each other and looked into each other eyes. Haru breaked this silence by saying:

"I know you like me Cedric...but I can't say anything in that matter for now...thats why I think it will be better if we first started with building our bond"

Cedric nodded.

"Yeah...you are right...i think it will be better if you get to know me well first...because like I said I am not giving up on you easily"

Haru smiled at him and Cedric did the same. Moments before they went back to their original task at hand, Mrs Wright returned to their place with a smile plastered on her face.

"It looks like Haru is enjoying the gardening duty I suppose? " she asked looking at both of them.

"I am" Haru replied.

"Mom" Cedric spoke looking at her "I think you should show Haru your trimming skills...he will love it"

"Oh why not" she said happily.

For the next good number of hours they went about different gardening duties, each one being difficult than the last but equally interesting. When the sun was about to set, the three went inside retiring for the day.
